This page explains how Hotel Tip Orlando researches, writes, checks and updates its Orlando hotel guides, so you can judge how much weight to give them. If something in a guide looks wrong or out of date, please tell us.
Who is responsible for the guides
Hotel Tip Orlando is run by Newton, a travel content creator who has traveled to Orlando. Newton decides which topics we cover and is responsible for everything we publish. You can read more about the site on our About page.
How the guides are written
We use AI tools to help with research and drafting. A guide is never published straight from a draft. Every guide goes through a separate fact-check before publication. In that step each specific fact is checked against an official source, and facts that cannot be confirmed are removed.
Some guides draw on personal travel experience. Most are based on research. A hotel’s inclusion in a guide does not mean that anyone from Hotel Tip Orlando has stayed there, and we do not write as if we had.
Sources we use
- Hotels and parks: each hotel’s own website and policy pages, plus the official websites of Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando and LEGOLAND Florida for perks such as Early Theme Park Entry, Early Park Admission, Universal Express and park parking.
- Transportation: Orlando International Airport, LYNX, the I-RIDE Trolley, Brightline and the booking systems and timetables of the shuttle companies that run hotel buses. We give shuttle times as samples with the date we checked them.
- Mandatory fees: the hotel’s own pages and, where a hotel does not publish an amount, the price breakdown that Booking.com shows for a sample stay, labeled as such.
- Archived pages: when a hotel or brand website blocks access, we use an archived copy of its official page on the Internet Archive and say when it was captured.
- Distances: road and walking distances calculated with OpenStreetMap routing on public roads to each park’s guest parking or entrance, rounded and marked as approximate. When a hotel advertises a different figure, we say so.
- Weather and dates: NOAA climate normals and the official event calendars of Disney, Universal and other attractions.
Each guide ends with a line listing the main official sources and the month we checked them.
What we do not do
- We do not invent reviews, guest quotes, star ratings or scores, and we do not publish Booking.com review scores.
- We do not state fixed room prices, because rates change by date and availability.
- We do not accept payment from hotels to be included or ranked.
- When official sources disagree, we do not pick one quietly. We report both and tell you what to confirm.
Photos
Hotel photos come from each property’s own photo gallery on Booking.com, which hotels supply. We check that every photo shows the right hotel, and we reject renderings, edited skies, maps, logos and photos with watermarks. Photos of parks, attractions and places come from Wikimedia Commons under free licenses and carry a credit with a link to the original file.
Updates and corrections
Resort fees, parking charges, shuttle schedules and park benefits change often. Each guide shows the date it was last updated, and time-sensitive facts are marked “at the time of writing” so you know to confirm them for your dates. We recheck these facts and correct guides when we find a change. When a reader reports an error, we check it against the official source and fix the guide if we got it wrong.
How the site is funded
Hotel Tip Orlando earns a commission from Booking.com when readers book through our links, at no extra cost to them. The commission does not change which hotels we include or how we describe them. Disney-owned hotels are not sold on Booking.com, and we still cover them when they are the best fit. Read our affiliate disclosure for details.
Independence
Hotel Tip Orlando is an independent guide. It is not affiliated with Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld Orlando or any hotel company.
Spanish edition
The English guides are the original versions. The Spanish edition at hoteltiporlando.com/es/ is machine translated on our own server from the English text. Titles, menus and selected passages are reviewed. If the two versions ever differ, the English guide is the reference.
