The best hotels in Ormond Beach sit on State Road A1A, right on the sand, a few minutes north of the Daytona Beach crowds. You get the same wide Atlantic beach, but with fewer high-rises, quieter evenings and an easy drive to Daytona, St. Augustine and Orlando.
The choice is smaller than in Daytona, so the details matter. Some properties are condo-style resorts with full kitchens. Others are simple hotels with free breakfast. A few charge for parking or add a daily resort charge. Two good-value picks sit on the mainland by I-95 for race fans and Bike Week riders.
This guide compares seven hotels using each property’s official pages, Volusia County’s beach rules and road distances we routed ourselves. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.
Quick answer: For most travelers, Home2 Suites by Hilton Ormond Beach Oceanfront is the best all-round pick: every suite has a kitchen and a balcony with a full or partial ocean view, and breakfast is free. Families who want pools and activities should look at the Royal Floridian. On a budget, try Spark by Hilton. For Bike Week or I-95 road trips, the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express on the mainland have free parking.

How we chose the best hotels in Ormond Beach
We started with every property that Booking.com lists in Ormond Beach and kept the ones we could check on an official hotel or brand page. We left out a resort that was only reopening to owners and a hotel whose official page we couldn’t open. Then we compared:
- Location: oceanfront on A1A versus mainland near I-95, and how far each is from Granada Boulevard, the Daytona Beach pier and the Speedway.
- Verified amenities: kitchens, pools, breakfast and pet rules exactly as the hotel states them.
- Real extra costs: parking, resort charges and pet fees, hedged with the date we last checked.
- Transport: road distances from OSRM routing to Orlando, Daytona Beach International Airport and the Speedway.
We don’t use review scores, and we don’t list room prices because they change daily.

1. Home2 Suites by Hilton Ormond Beach Oceanfront

Home2 Suites opened at 711 South Atlantic Avenue in February 2020, and Hilton says each of its 93 suites has a full or partial ocean-view balcony and a kitchen. It’s the newest-feeling hotel on this list, and the simplest choice if you want hotel service plus space to cook.
The pool deck faces the beach, with an outdoor saltwater pool, a hot tub and a fire pit. Andy Romano Beachfront Park, a city park with a splash pad, playground and beach access, is a short walk south along A1A.
- Why stay: Free hot breakfast buffet, a kitchen in every suite and the Spin2 Cycle room, which combines laundry and fitness equipment, so it works well for longer stays.
- Getting there / to the parks: About 3.5 miles by road to the Daytona Beach pier, 9 miles to Daytona International Speedway and 11 miles to Daytona Beach International Airport. Universal Orlando is about 70 miles away, roughly 1 hour 35 minutes without traffic. There’s no airport shuttle.
- Good to know: At the time of writing, Hilton listed self-parking at $15 a day with in-and-out privileges and no valet (older versions of the page said $10), so confirm the rate when you book. The minimum age to register is 21, check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out at 11 a.m. Hilton’s page shows two different pet policies (a one-time fee of $75 for 1 to 4 nights or $125 for longer stays, for pets up to 75 pounds, in one place; fees by weight that add up each night after the second in another), so confirm with the hotel before you bring a pet.
Best for: Families and longer stays that want an ocean-view balcony, a kitchen and breakfast included.

2. Hilton Vacation Club The Cove on Ormond Beach

The Cove is a vacation-club resort at 145 South Atlantic Avenue, a short walk from Granada Boulevard. Hilton says every room has its own kitchen and a balcony with ocean views. It also has an indoor and an outdoor pool, a barbecue area and a fitness center.
The Casements, John D. Rockefeller’s former winter home, is about a mile away by road, near the Granada Bridge. That central spot makes it one of the easiest bases for exploring beachside Ormond.
- Why stay: Condo-style space with a kitchen, two pools (one indoors for cool or rainy days) and a central location near Granada Boulevard.
- Getting there / to the parks: About 5 miles to the Daytona Beach pier, 10 miles to the Speedway and 12 miles to Daytona Beach International Airport. Universal Orlando is about 72 miles, roughly 1 hour 35 minutes without traffic.
- Good to know: At last check (June 2026), Hilton listed a daily resort charge added to the room rate. It covers basic internet, self-parking for one vehicle, board games, sports gear (table tennis, volleyball, bocce, shuffleboard) and barbecue equipment. The amount wasn’t shown, so check the total on Booking.com. One vehicle per reservation, no oversized vehicles and no pets. Check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out at 10 a.m.
Best for: Couples and families who want a condo with a kitchen near the heart of beachside Ormond.

3. Royal Floridian Resort by Spinnaker

The Royal Floridian at 51 South Atlantic Avenue is one of the most activity-packed resorts in Ormond Beach. Spinnaker lists a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, an indoor pool and hot tub, a children’s pool, a splash pad, mini golf, shuffleboard and a sport court for basketball, pickleball, volleyball and badminton.
The condos have kitchens and separate living and dining areas, and oceanfront units have walk-out balconies. Layouts run from studios that sleep 2 to two-bedroom, two-bathroom units that sleep 6. The sister building next door, Royal Floridian South (53 South Atlantic Avenue), opened in 2011 with one- and two-bedroom condos.
- Why stay: The pools, a tiki bar (open from 11 a.m. to about 6:30 p.m., per Spinnaker) and a weekly activity schedule with bingo, water aerobics and crafts, some at extra cost.
- Getting there / to the parks: It sits at the Granada Boulevard beach approach, about 5 miles from the Daytona Beach pier and 10 miles from the Speedway. Universal Orlando is about 72 miles, roughly 1 hour 35 minutes without traffic.
- Good to know: At last check (June 2026), Spinnaker listed underground parking but no fee, so ask when you book. The resort is smoke-free and pet-free, the front desk is open 24 hours, and check-in is at 4 p.m. Spinnaker sells vacation ownership here, so confirm housekeeping and any resort charges with the property.
Best for: Families with kids who want a pool day as much as a beach day.
4. Spark by Hilton Ormond Beach Oceanfront

Spark is Hilton’s premium-economy brand, and this seven-story, 147-room hotel at 205 South Atlantic Avenue is aimed at travelers who want a simple room right on the beach in Ormond. Hilton says rooms have a private patio or balcony, and the outdoor pool and terrace overlook the ocean.
It’s a few blocks south of Granada Boulevard, so the center of beachside Ormond is close by.
- Why stay: Free breakfast, free Wi-Fi and a pool by the sand, with low parking fees in a covered garage.
- Getting there / to the parks: About 4.5 miles to the Daytona Beach pier, 10 miles to the Speedway and 12 miles to Daytona Beach International Airport. Hilton lists the Casements as 0.2 miles away, but by road it’s closer to a mile. Universal Orlando is about 72 miles.
- Good to know: Hilton’s live page wouldn’t load for us, and the newest archived copy we found is from July 2025. At that point, self-parking in the underground garage was $10 a day with in-and-out privileges, pets up to 75 pounds were allowed for a $75 non-refundable fee, check-in was at 3 p.m. and check-out at noon. Treat these as a guide only and confirm parking, pet fees and times with the hotel before you book.
Best for: Budget travelers and pet owners who want an oceanfront room with breakfast.
5. Coral Sands Inn

Coral Sands Inn, at 1009 Ocean Shore Boulevard (A1A north of Granada), is an old-school beach inn that says it has been in Ormond Beach since the mid-1940s. It has a heated oceanfront pool, two oceanfront gazebos and, according to the inn, more than 900 feet of traffic-free beach.
Rooms range from ocean-view rooms in the main building to North and South cottages with one or two bedrooms. Most cottages have kitchens. There’s also a small RV park with 33 beachside sites.
- Why stay: A low-key, family-friendly setting on a stretch of sand with no cars, plus cottages with kitchens and patios.
- Getting there / to the parks: It’s the northernmost pick, about 2 miles from Granada Boulevard, 7 miles from the Daytona Beach pier and about 48 miles from St. Augustine. Universal Orlando is about 73 miles.
- Good to know: The inn’s own site blocked our visit, so these details come from archived copies from 2025; the inn was still listed on Booking.com at the time of writing. Back then, the site said the North Cottages are the only pet-friendly units, and its pet policy page listed fees and weight limits. The site doesn’t list parking or breakfast details, so confirm those, along with pet fees, directly with the inn.
Best for: Couples, families and dog owners who want a quiet, car-free beach and don’t need resort extras.
6. Hampton Inn Daytona/Ormond Beach

The Hampton Inn is on the mainland at 155 Interchange Boulevard, where I-95 meets State Road 40 (Granada Boulevard). You give up the ocean view, but you get free parking, free hot breakfast and a quick on-ramp for day trips.
Hilton lists an outdoor pool, a fitness center and on-site EV charging. The beach is about 6 miles east down Granada Boulevard.
- Why stay: Low total cost, an easy drive to Orlando, St. Augustine and the Speedway, and a pool for after the beach.
- Getting there / to the parks: About 9 miles by road to Daytona Beach International Airport and about 9.5 miles to the Speedway (Hilton lists 7 to 8 miles). Universal Orlando is about 66 miles, roughly 1 hour 25 minutes without traffic, and St. Augustine is about 48 miles.
- Good to know: At last check (July 2026), self-parking was free. Up to two pets of 50 pounds or less were allowed for a non-refundable $50 for 1 to 4 nights or $75 for five nights or more; cats weren’t allowed. Check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out at 11 a.m.
Best for: Road-trippers and value seekers who don’t mind driving to the sand.
7. Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ormond Beach – North Daytona

This Holiday Inn Express sits at 1571 US 1, just off I-95 and, as IHG puts it, across the street from Destination Daytona. IHG lists 71 rooms on four floors, including one- and two-bedroom suites.
Breakfast and parking are free, and there’s a 24-hour fitness center. There’s no pool, though, so this one is about location and value rather than downtime at the hotel.
- Why stay: A spot across US 1 from Destination Daytona, suites for groups and the fastest run north to St. Augustine (about 42 miles) of any pick here.
- Getting there / to the parks: About 7.5 miles to the beach at Granada Boulevard and about 15 miles to the Speedway. Universal Orlando is about 72 miles, roughly 1 hour 30 minutes without traffic.
- Good to know: At the time of writing, IHG says parking is complimentary, pets aren’t allowed and the hotel has no pool. The minimum check-in age is 21, check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out at 11 a.m.
Best for: Bike Week and Biketoberfest riders, and groups who need a suite more than a beach view.

How to choose a hotel in Ormond Beach
Oceanfront A1A or the mainland?
Stay on A1A if the beach is the point of the trip. The hotels near Granada Boulevard (The Cove, Royal Floridian and Spark) put you closest to cafes, the Casements and the river. Home2 Suites is farther south near Andy Romano Beachfront Park, and Coral Sands is the quietest, to the north.
Pick the mainland if you’re mostly driving: to the Speedway, to Orlando or along I-95. For more choice near the track, see our guide to hotels near Daytona International Speedway. If you’re picking up a rental car in Orlando, read our guide to Orlando toll roads and rental-car toll options first.
Beach driving and parking rules
Volusia County offers beach driving from ramps in Ormond Beach, but only in designated areas marked by signs and wooden posts; other stretches are traffic-free. At the time of writing, visitors pay $30 a day for on-beach driving ($150 for an annual visitor pass) and $20 a day for county off-beach lots ($100 a year), plus sales tax. Volusia County residents who register their vehicle get free access. You can pay the daily fee at a ramp booth or county lot, but annual passes are sold only online, in the Volusia Beaches app or at a ParkVolusia office.
From May 1 to October 31, vehicles may be on the beach from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. or sundown, whichever is earlier, and from sunrise to sunset the rest of the year, tides permitting. Keep your headlights on, follow the posted speed limit, keep one front window open and park seaward of the conservation posts. Ramps open and close with the tides, so check the app before you go.
Add up the real nightly cost
Florida Department of Revenue tables list a 6% local transient rental tax for Volusia County. That’s on top of the 6% state sales tax and a 0.5% county surtax, so expect about 12.5% in taxes on the room rate. Then add parking and any resort charge. Compare the total for your dates, not just the headline rate.
Watch the event calendar
Bike Week runs March 5 to 14, 2027, and Biketoberfest is October 15 to 18, 2026. Ormond Beach, especially the US 1 corridor near Destination Daytona, fills up and rates rise. Book early or plan around those dates. Big race weekends at the Speedway can do the same.
Things to do nearby
The Casements at 25 Riverside Drive is the city’s cultural center, and the Casements Guild runs tours (the city lists no tours on October 24 and November 3, 2026). Tomoka State Park, on North Beach Street, is good for paddling, fishing and birding; at last check (July 2026), Florida State Parks listed $5 per vehicle and hours of 8 a.m. to sunset.
In winter, manatees gather at Blue Spring State Park, about 32 to 38 miles southwest by road (see our guide to hotels near Blue Spring State Park). The park now requires day-use reservations, so check its page before you go.
For a bigger beach scene, Daytona’s pier and Boardwalk are about 4 to 7 miles south (see our best hotels in Daytona Beach). St. Augustine is under an hour north (see our St. Augustine hotel guide), and quieter hotels in New Smyrna Beach are about 20 to 23 miles south.
Frequently asked questions
Is Ormond Beach better than Daytona Beach for a hotel stay?
It depends on the trip. Ormond Beach is quieter, with fewer high-rises and a more residential feel, and it has stretches of traffic-free beach. Daytona Beach has the pier, the Boardwalk, more nightlife and many more hotels. The two towns touch, so from Ormond you’re only 4 to 7 miles from Daytona’s main beach area, and you can easily visit both.
Can you drive on the beach in Ormond Beach?
In designated areas only. Volusia County allows driving and parking on the sand where ramps are open, but some Ormond stretches are traffic-free. At the time of writing, visitors pay $30 a day plus tax at the ramp booth, and a $150 annual pass is sold only online, in the Volusia Beaches app or at a ParkVolusia office. Ramps open and close with tides and conditions, so check the app before you go.
How far is Ormond Beach from Orlando?
By our road routing, the oceanfront hotels are about 70 to 73 miles from Universal Orlando and about 84 miles from the Magic Kingdom parking area. That’s roughly 1 hour 35 minutes to Universal without traffic, and more at rush hour or on busy I-4 days. The Hampton Inn by I-95 saves about 10 minutes each way.
Which hotels in Ormond Beach include free breakfast?
Of the hotels in this guide, Home2 Suites Ormond Beach Oceanfront includes a free hot breakfast buffet, and Spark by Hilton includes a free breakfast. On the mainland, the Hampton Inn Daytona/Ormond Beach and the Holiday Inn Express & Suites North Daytona also include breakfast. The condo-style resorts give you a full kitchen instead, so you can make your own.
Are there pet-friendly hotels in Ormond Beach?
Yes. Home2 Suites, Spark by Hilton and the Hampton Inn accept pets for a fee. At Coral Sands Inn, the North Cottages are the only pet-friendly units. The Cove, the Royal Floridian and the Holiday Inn Express don’t allow pets. Weight limits and fees vary, and Home2’s page shows two different policies, so confirm the rules with the hotel before you book.
Bottom line
For a beach stay with breakfast, a kitchen and a balcony, Home2 Suites is the strongest pick among hotels in Ormond Beach. The Royal Floridian is better for kids who live in the pool, and Spark is the budget play on the sand. If you’re here for Bike Week or the Speedway, base yourself by I-95. And if you’re splitting the trip with the parks, read our guide to where to stay in Orlando and our roundup of beaches near Orlando.
