The best hotels in Daytona Beach sit right on the sand along State Road A1A, known locally as Atlantic Avenue. They run from the busy Main Street Pier and Boardwalk area south into quieter Daytona Beach Shores, plus one hotel by Daytona International Speedway. Daytona Beach is about 70 miles from Orlando, so it works as a beach add-on after Disney or Universal or as a race-weekend base.
The extras are what set these hotels apart. Some include a hot breakfast and charge $15 or less to park. Others add a nightly resort fee plus $35 or more for parking. This guide compares nine hotels using each hotel’s official pages, so you can see the real cost before you pick.
Quick answer: For a lively oceanfront resort near the Boardwalk, book the Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach. Families who want to walk to the pier should look at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort. For a quieter spa resort, choose The Shores Resort & Spa in Daytona Beach Shores. Value hunters should compare the Hampton Inn Daytona Beach/Beachfront (free hot breakfast) and Hyatt Place Daytona Beach-Oceanfront (free breakfast, and parking was free at last check). Race fans should stay at The DAYTONA, across from the Speedway.

How we chose the best hotels in Daytona Beach
We picked eight hotels directly on the beach in Daytona Beach and Daytona Beach Shores, plus one hotel at ONE DAYTONA for Speedway events. We judged them on beach access, verified amenities, the real cost once resort fees and parking are added, and how easy it is to get to the pier, the Speedway and Orlando.
Facts come from each hotel’s official website, checked in October 2026. Hilton, Marriott and Hyatt block automated visits, so for their hotels we used archived copies of the official pages from November 2025 to June 2026, marked “at last check.” Distances are rounded road distances without traffic. We did not stay at these hotels, and we don’t publish scores or fixed prices.

How to choose a Daytona Beach hotel
Daytona Beach vs Daytona Beach Shores
Hotels near the Main Street Pier put you by the Boardwalk, the bandshell, the Ocean Center and plenty of restaurants. Daytona Beach Shores, to the south, is mostly condos and hotels. It’s quieter at night and closer to the Marine Science Center and the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse.
Add up the real nightly cost
At the Hard Rock and The Shores, the resort fee plus self-parking adds about $70 to $74 a night before tax at the time of writing. The Hampton Inn, Hyatt Place and Hilton Garden Inn keep extras low, and two of them include breakfast. Compare the total with taxes and fees for your dates, not just the room rate.
Watch the event calendar
Race weeks and motorcycle rallies fill hotels fast and push rates up, and some hotels charge special-event parking rates. Check the dates in the FAQ below before you book a simple beach break, or reserve early if you’re coming for an event.
Driving and parking on the beach
Volusia County lets you drive and park on the sand in designated areas. At the time of writing, visitors pay $30 a day to drive on the beach and $20 a day at county off-beach lots, with annual passes at $150 and $100. City-owned lots, such as Breakers Oceanfront Park, aren’t covered by county passes. For more beach-day detail, read our guide to beaches near Orlando, with drive times and parking.
Traveling with a pet
Six of these hotels accept pets, with very different fees; the Daytona Grande and Delta don’t, and The DAYTONA’s site doesn’t say, so ask before you book. For the park part of your trip, see our list of pet-friendly hotels in Orlando near Disney and Universal.
Other beach towns to compare
New Smyrna Beach, just south, is lower-rise and quieter. Compare the best hotels in New Smyrna Beach if Daytona feels too busy.
