The best hotels near The Florida Mall start with The Florida Hotel & Conference Center, which the mall’s owner, Simon, calls its on-site hotel, so you can walk from your room to the shops. A Super 8 about a mile away is our budget pick, and the best-value mid-range hotels sit in the Southpark area, about 10 minutes away by car and even closer to Epic Universe.
The Florida Mall is at 8001 South Orange Blossom Trail, at Sand Lake Road in south Orlando. Simon calls it Central Florida’s largest shopping center, with more than 250 shops, restaurants and attractions, including Crayola Experience and an American Girl store. It also sits between the airport and the Universal, International Drive and SeaWorld areas.
Below are seven hotels, from the one connected to the mall to two resorts about 15 minutes away, with fees from official pages and real road routes.
Quick answer: To walk to the shops, book The Florida Hotel & Conference Center, the only hotel connected to the mall, and budget for its $23 service fee, which the hotel describes as daily and which covers self-parking. On a tight budget with a car, Super 8 Orlando Near Florida Mall has free parking. For free breakfast and parking near both the mall and Epic Universe, choose Home2 Suites or Hampton Inn & Suites in Southpark. Universal Stella Nova Resort lets you walk to Epic Universe, and Rosen Shingle Creek and the JW Marriott Grande Lakes are the resort picks.

Getting to the mall without a car
LYNX, Orlando’s bus system, serves the Florida Mall SuperStop with eight routes. The most useful for visitors is Link 311, which runs about every 30 minutes, from early morning until around 11 p.m., between the airport and the Disney Springs area by way of the Sand Lake Road SunRail station, the mall, the Epic Universe transfer center and Destination Parkway. Link 42 runs from the airport to the mall and on to International Drive, and Link 37 stops at Universal Orlando. At the time of writing, a ride costs $2 and an all-day pass $4.50; ask the driver for the pass before you pay.
How we chose these hotels
The Florida Mall sits on South Orange Blossom Trail (US 441), a busy commercial highway lined mostly with older budget motels. We measured walking and driving routes from the mall on OpenStreetMap, then kept only hotels whose parking, breakfast, pet rules and fees we could confirm on an official page, or on an archived copy when a brand site blocked us (marked “at last check”). We favored a short trip to the mall, free parking or breakfast, and easy access to Epic Universe, Universal and the airport. We don’t give scores.

1. The Florida Hotel & Conference Center

Its own amenity list says it’s connected to the Florida Mall, and Simon calls it the mall’s on-site hotel. The 511-room tower at 1500 Sand Lake Road has a heated outdoor pool and whirlpool, a 24-hour fitness center, a Starbucks, a Chick-fil-A, Marcelo’s Bistro for breakfast and lunch, and Cricket’s Bar, open 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Rooms have one king, which sleeps two, or two queens, and the hotel lists four guests for its accessible double-queen rooms. Every room has a refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker and safe; room service was listed as temporarily unavailable. As an official American Girl partner hotel, it sells an American Girl Deluxe Package with a doll bed your child keeps.
- Why stay: You can drop off shopping bags between stores, and Crayola Experience, American Girl and the Dining Pavilion are a short walk away.
- Getting there / to the parks: The hotel’s pages disagree: the homepage advertises complimentary scheduled transportation to Epic Universe, but the FAQ says there’s no shuttle to the airport, Disney, Universal, SeaWorld or International Drive, so ask before you count on it. Epic Universe is about 4 miles by road, and the hotel puts the airport 15 to 20 minutes away.
- Good to know: The FAQ lists a $23 service fee covering in-room Wi-Fi, two bottles of water a day, gated self-parking and the 24-hour fitness and business centers; the FAQ page’s own summary calls it a daily fee, so expect it for each night and confirm the amount when you book. Pets pay a one-time $75 fee plus tax, and the front desk holds packages for a $10 fee.
Best for: Shopping trips, American Girl and Crayola fans, and travelers without a car who want food and stores at the door.

- Why stay: It’s a brand-name budget option about a mile from the mall, and parking is free.
- Getting there / to the parks: By our route it’s about 1 mile on foot to the mall’s nearest side, roughly 20 minutes along busy multi-lane roads, or about 5 minutes by car. Wyndham lists no shuttle. Epic Universe is about 4.5 miles by road and Universal CityWalk about 7.
- Good to know: Pets up to 20 pounds are welcome for an extra nightly fee, but the amount isn’t listed, so ask. Expect a basic motel rather than a resort.
Best for: Budget travelers with a car who mainly need a simple room near the shops.

Universal says shuttles run about every 10 minutes to CityWalk, for Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, and to Volcano Bay, which closes for maintenance from October 26, 2026, until on or before April 1, 2027. Guests get Early Park Admission to select attractions in one Universal park, which can be Epic Universe, with a valid ticket.
- Good to know: Self-parking is $30 plus tax per night at the time of writing. We found no resort fee listed. Pets aren’t allowed, you must be 21 to book, and Pack ‘n Plays are free. Check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out at 11 a.m.
Best for: Trips built around Epic Universe with a shopping day added. Our Stella Nova vs Terra Luna comparison explains how it differs from its twin next door.
