The best hotels near World Equestrian Center Ocala start inside the gates. The Equestrian Hotel is a 248-room luxury hotel overlooking the Grand Arena, and The Riding Academy Hotel has 390 dog-friendly studios and suites next to The Equestrian Manor. When those are full or over budget, a cluster of suite hotels along I-75 puts you about 5 to 9 miles away by road.

World Equestrian Center (WEC) sits on the west side of Ocala, in Marion County, about 83 miles by road northwest of downtown Orlando. Most of its horse shows are free to watch, so it works as a one-night side trip from an Orlando vacation as well as a base for exhibitors who stay for weeks. If you are adding it to a longer trip, our day-by-day Orlando itinerary shows where a day away from the parks fits best.

Quick answer: For the full WEC experience, stay on site: The Equestrian Hotel for arena-view rooms, a spa and fine dining, or The Riding Academy Hotel for suites, a splash pad and a dog park. The closest brand-name pick off the campus is the new Staybridge Suites Ocala-near Equestrian-Aquatics on US 27, with free breakfast and full kitchens. Exhibitors hauling trailers should look at Candlewood Suites Ocala I-75, which says it has parking for trucks, trailers and RVs.

How we chose these hotels near World Equestrian Center Ocala

We kept hotels that:

  • Are on the WEC campus or a short drive away, at I-75 exits 354 (US 27), 352 (SR 40) or 350 (SR 200).
  • Publish their facts on an official page (WEC, IHG, Hilton, Marriott). Some are archived copies from late 2025 to September 2026, so we say “at last check” where it matters.
  • Suit the people who go to WEC: spectators, families, and exhibitors who need a kitchen, laundry, room for a dog or space for a truck.

Distances are road distances from OSRM routing (no traffic) to the WEC campus on NW 80th Avenue, rounded. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book, and they rise on big show weeks.

1. The Equestrian Hotel

The Equestrian Hotel is WEC’s flagship, at 8510 NW 17th Lane in the middle of the campus. WEC says it has 248 rooms and suites, many of them overlooking the open-air Grand Arena, and calls it Ocala’s only AAA Four Diamond resort. The lobby is built around a 20-foot fireplace with crystal chandeliers, and the style leans European, with mahogany furniture and fine linens.

Rooms range from Standard King and Standard Double Queen rooms to Arena View Kings, Double King Suites, One Bedroom King Suites and a Presidential Suite, with accessible versions of several types. WEC lists premium bedding, blackout curtains and soundproofing, a 65-inch TV, a coffee maker, bottled water, a safe and daily housekeeping. Bathrooms have a tub or a shower. Book an Arena View room and you can watch the jumping from your window.

  • Why stay: You are steps from the arenas, shops and restaurants. Inside the hotel are Stirrups Restaurant (steaks, seafood and Southern dishes, with a terrace over the Grand Outdoor Arena), Yellow Pony Pub & Garden and an Emma’s Patisserie for coffee and pastries. WEC also lists the full-service Calluna Spa, a zero-entry outdoor pool, a fitness center with 24-hour access and a business center.
  • Getting there / to the parks: Once you arrive, you can walk everywhere or rent a golf cart, which WEC offers to hotel guests and day visitors. Downtown Orlando is about 83 miles away (roughly 1 hour 40 minutes without traffic), and Magic Kingdom’s parking plaza is about 93 miles (close to 2 hours).
  • Good to know: Pets are not allowed in rooms. WEC’s pet policy says non-working dogs of any size may not stay, though leashed dogs may pass through the lobby; service animals are welcome. Valet parking, dry cleaning and in-room dining (6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.) are listed as optional extras. We found no resort fee or self-parking price on WEC’s hotel pages, so confirm both when you book. On Booking.com the hotel is listed as “The Equestrian”.

Best for: Spectators and couples who want an arena-view room, a spa and a steakhouse dinner without moving the car.

2. The Riding Academy Hotel

The Riding Academy Hotel is WEC’s second on-site hotel, at 1615 NW 81st Terrace Road, next to The Equestrian Manor. Restaurants in the Manor include Genievieve’s (Italian, in a rooftop dining room), The White Willow (Pan-Asian, with a sushi bar), The Polo Pony (American, with 32 beers on tap) and a second Emma’s Patisserie. WEC said its new Shoppes Off 80th outdoor shopping center next door would open in 2026, so check whether it is open for your dates.

All 390 units are studios or suites with separate sleeping and living areas, Sub-Zero refrigerators, coffee makers and pull-out sleeper sofas. At last check (WEC rooms page, October 2025), choices ran from King Studios to Double Queen Suites (some with balconies or pool views), One Bedroom King Suites and a Two-Bedroom Suite with a king room, a room with two queens, a sleeper sofa and two bathrooms. WEC lists free Wi-Fi and 65-inch TVs.

  • Why stay: It is the family and dog choice on campus. There is an outdoor pool with a walk-up bar, a children’s splash pad, an outdoor fireplace, two fitness centers (with 24/7 access listed), The Tack Room market for snacks and coffee, and a dog park.
  • Getting there / to the parks: The arenas are a walk or a golf-cart ride away. Orlando’s theme parks are about 1.5 to 2 hours south.
  • Good to know: At last check, the hotel policy allowed up to two dogs, each up to 75 pounds, for $100 per dog per stay plus tax (service animals excluded), and dogs cannot be left alone in the room. Check-in is 4 p.m., check-out is noon, and you must be 21 to check in. Standard reservations can be canceled until 4 p.m. Eastern time, 72 hours before arrival; the hotel warns that rules can differ for restricted events and group bookings.

Best for: Families, groups of riders and anyone traveling with a dog who still wants to stay on the grounds.

3. Staybridge Suites Ocala-near Equestrian-Aquatics

IHG calls this “our new Ocala, FL hotel”. It sits at 4627 NW Blitchton Road (US 27), just west of I-75, so you can drive straight down US 27 to WEC without getting on the interstate. IHG puts it four miles from WEC; our road route to the campus is about 5 miles, roughly 12 minutes. “Aquatics” refers to the Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training Center, a swim venue across town.

Every suite has a fully equipped kitchen. IHG lists a free hot breakfast (6:30 to 9:30 a.m. on weekdays, until 10:30 a.m. on weekends) and a free Social Hour with light bites, beer and wine, Monday to Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The Legacy Bar in the lobby is open Monday to Saturday evenings.

  • Why stay: It is the closest brand-name hotel to WEC we found off the campus. It has free breakfast, kitchens, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a firepit patio, 16 Tesla Superchargers and a 1.5-acre pet area next to the building.
  • Getting there / to the parks: About 5 miles to WEC. There is no free local shuttle, so you need a car.
  • Good to know: Self-parking was listed at $10 a day at last check (IHG page of September 2026). The pet policy on that page lists a fee of $50 per night, capped at $200 per stay, and a maximum of two pets. The same FAQ also mentions a $200 pet deposit per stay, so confirm with the hotel. Check-in is 4 p.m., check-out 11 a.m., and the minimum check-in age is 21.

Best for: Spectators and exhibitors who want a new hotel close to the showgrounds, with breakfast included.

IHG lists the address as 3835 West Silver Springs Boulevard, while Booking.com shows 3805, so use the IHG address in your GPS. The hotel courts horse people: IHG calls it a short drive from WEC (an earlier version said 7 minutes) and says trucks, trailers and RVs can park.

Suites come as studios or one-bedroom suites, all with full kitchens. You can borrow specialty kitchen appliances at the front desk, and there is a market on site for basics. Housekeeping is weekly, which is normal for an extended-stay hotel.

  • Why stay: Free parking with room for rigs, free 24/7 guest laundry, full kitchens, an outdoor pool and a 24-hour fitness center.
  • Getting there / to the parks: About 5 miles to WEC and about 3 miles east along SR 40 to Ocala’s downtown square. There is no free local shuttle.

It plays up the horse-country theme. Hilton says guests can meet the resident Clydesdale, Buddy, and that the kitchen grows its own ingredients in a Chef’s Garden.

Arthur’s Bistro serves breakfast and a Sunday brunch that Hilton says comes with live music, and Market Kitchen & Bar is the hotel’s main restaurant and bar. Room service is available too. There is a resort-style outdoor pool, a fitness center and meeting space.

  • Why stay: A proper restaurant and bar, room service and a big pool deck, with Ocala’s SR 200 shops and restaurants close by.

6. Residence Inn by Marriott Ocala

The Residence Inn Ocala, at 3610 SW 38th Avenue, is in the same SR 200 hotel cluster as the Hilton, about 8.5 miles (around 16 minutes) from WEC. Marriott’s own description names WEC and the HITS farm among nearby attractions.

All units are suites with fully equipped kitchens and separate living areas. Marriott lists a free hot breakfast (6 to 9 a.m. on weekdays, 7 to 10 a.m. on weekends), free on-site parking, a heated outdoor pool, a whirlpool and a 24-hour fitness center. Wi-Fi is described as free, but Marriott’s FAQ ties free in-room internet to Bonvoy members who book direct.

  • Why stay: Free breakfast, free parking and a kitchen, with SR 200 restaurants nearby.
  • Getting there / to the parks: About 8.5 miles to WEC via I-75. Marriott lists Orlando International Airport at 76 miles; by road it is about 85. There is no shuttle.
  • Good to know: At last check (Marriott page of May 2026), the pet fee was $75 per stay, non-refundable, with a 50-pound limit. The page says “one pet” in one place and allows up to two in another, so ask. That page also said renovations would run until fall 2026 and the hot tub was out of order. Check-in is 4 p.m., check-out noon.

Best for: Families and longer stays that want breakfast and parking included.

7. Homewood Suites by Hilton Ocala at Heath Brook

Homewood Suites sits less than a mile west of I-75 on SR 200, with the Market Street shops on its doorstep, about 9 miles (around 17 minutes) from WEC. It is the farthest of our picks, but the busy SR 200 corridor helps on a long stay.

Suites have in-room kitchens. Hilton lists a free hot breakfast, a free evening social on Wednesdays, free parking, an outdoor pool, a fitness center and a business center.

  • Why stay: Breakfast and parking are included, and the Wednesday social means one night you do not have to plan dinner.
  • Getting there / to the parks: About 9 miles to WEC via I-75. Hilton says Ocala International Airport is about 10 minutes away.
  • Good to know: At last check (June 2026), pets were limited to dogs and cats, two at most. The non-refundable fee was $75 for one to four nights or $125 for five nights or more. Hilton’s text calls Wi-Fi free, but its policy box lists standard Wi-Fi at $4.95, so check. Check-in is 3 p.m., check-out noon.

Best for: Long stays where included breakfast and nearby shops matter more than being closest to the arenas.

How to choose a hotel near World Equestrian Center

  • Watching a Saturday grand prix? WEC says grands prix usually start at 7 or 7:30 p.m. in the Grand Arena. Staying on campus means no late drive back. Otherwise, Staybridge and Candlewood are the quickest drives.
  • Bringing a dog? The Riding Academy Hotel is the on-site option, and The Equestrian Hotel does not take pets. Every off-site pick here accepts pets for a fee. Our pet-friendly hotels in Orlando guide covers the Disney and Universal end of your trip.
  • Staying a week or more? A kitchen and laundry matter more than a lobby bar. Candlewood (free laundry), Staybridge, Residence Inn and Homewood are all built for long stays.
  • Hauling a trailer? Of the hotels here, only Candlewood says it has parking for trucks, trailers and RVs. Otherwise, use the WEC RV Park on the grounds.
  • Combining with Orlando? The drive uses SR 408 and Florida’s Turnpike, both toll roads. Read our Orlando toll roads guide before you pick up a rental car. Then use our guide to the best areas to stay in Orlando for the theme-park part of the trip.
