Four Seasons vs Ritz-Carlton Orlando comes down to which parks you came for. Four Seasons Resort Orlando sits inside the gates of Walt Disney World, with Disney’s 30-minute Early Theme Park Entry, a private 5-acre water park and a free kids’ camp. The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes is the only Five-Star hotel on Forbes Travel Guide’s Orlando list, about 4 to 5 road miles from Epic Universe, but it gets no Disney perks.

Waldorf Astoria Orlando is the third contender: a quieter Hilton next to Disney property, also on Disney’s Early Entry list, with a Rees Jones golf course. We checked all three on official pages, Forbes and OSRM road routes in October 2026; confirm fees and schedules before you book.

Quick answer: For a Disney-first trip with kids, book the Four Seasons: Early Entry every day, a lazy river, two 242-foot slides and a free kids’ camp for ages 4 to 12. For Universal, Epic Universe or SeaWorld, or for Five-Star service and a 40,000-square-foot spa, book the Ritz-Carlton. Pick the Waldorf for Early Entry in a calmer golf-and-spa setting, with a shuttle that also serves Disney Springs.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando: Disney perks and a private water park

The Four Seasons stands in Golden Oak, Disney’s private residential community, “within the gates” of Walt Disney World in the resort’s words. Its 443 rooms include 68 suites, and its standard rooms are the largest here at about 500 square feet. The headline amenities are Explorer Island, a 5-acre water area for registered guests only, and Kids For All Seasons, a complimentary camp for ages 4 to 12.

Four Seasons, not Disney, operates it, so it is sold on Booking.com and runs its own park coaches. Forbes rates it Four-Star, and it is on AAA’s 2026 Five Diamond list. Our Four Seasons Resort Orlando review covers every room type and fee.

The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes: Five-Star near Universal

The Ritz-Carlton shares the 500-acre Grande Lakes resort in south Orlando with the JW Marriott, so you get a formal, quiet hotel plus the Grande Lakes Waterpark on the same grounds. Rooms are 480 square feet with a balcony, and the spa covers 40,000 square feet with 40 treatment rooms.

There is no Disney Early Entry. Grande Lakes calls itself a Universal Partner Hotel and lists Epic Universe at 2.3 miles, which reads like a straight-line figure. Forbes rates the hotel Five-Star and its Knife & Spoon steakhouse Four-Star. Our Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes review has the full breakdown, and the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes review covers the other side of the campus.

Waldorf Astoria Orlando: Early Entry, golf and a quiet pool

The Waldorf Astoria is a Hilton luxury hotel in Bonnet Creek, a private enclave surrounded by Walt Disney World land, and an Official Walt Disney World Hotel. Hilton’s 2023 renovation announcement counted 502 rooms, including 171 suites. Deluxe rooms are the smallest of the three at 448 square feet, with an Italian marble bathroom, a glass shower and a separate soaking tub.

Its pool deck is calm, and its FAQ confirms guests can also use the pool, lazy river and restaurants at Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek next door. The Rees Jones golf course is on site, and Forbes rates the hotel Four-Star. See our Waldorf Astoria Orlando guide and Signia vs Waldorf Astoria Orlando for more.

Magic Kingdom drives end at the Transportation and Ticket Center, where you add a monorail or ferry ride. The Ritz-Carlton’s quickest routes to Disney use toll roads.

Disney perks and getting to the parks

Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry page lists the Four Seasons and the Waldorf among 15 “other select hotels” whose guests enter any Disney theme park 30 minutes early on every day of their stay, and says the benefit continues through 2027. The Ritz-Carlton isn’t listed. None of the three gets Extended Evening Hours or the 7-day Lightning Lane window, so you buy passes 3 days ahead. See every non-Disney hotel with Early Theme Park Entry.

  • Four Seasons: free scheduled coaches to the four theme parks (Magic Kingdom via the Transportation and Ticket Center), once an hour to each park at the time of writing; Disney Springs, Universal and SeaWorld rides cost extra. A Disney Planning Center staffed by a Disney Cast Member sits in the lobby.
  • Waldorf Astoria: a shuttle shared with Signia, covered by the resort charge, serves the four parks and Disney Springs on a published timetable. On a sample day, October 15, 2026, it showed 15 Magic Kingdom departures from the Waldorf between 7:05 a.m. and 4:05 p.m.
  • Ritz-Carlton: the Grande Lakes FAQ includes shuttles to SeaWorld, Walt Disney World and Universal in the resort fee, reserved 24 hours ahead; Marriott’s fact sheet also lists an unexplained $45 local shuttle, so ask about times and charges.

If you drive, expect Disney’s standard $35 a day for theme park parking at all three. A Ritz-Carlton room booked on its own doesn’t include Universal’s Early Park Admission, which Universal offers to its hotel guests and “other selected groups”; our Universal Early Park Admission guide explains when a package qualifies.

Rooms and suites: 500 vs 480 vs 448 square feet

Four Seasons: about 500 square feet with a king or two queens, in four view categories; Park View rooms have private terraces facing the nightly fireworks. Standard rooms sleep 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children, with no rollaways, and suites of 825 to 1,700 square feet mostly keep that limit. Accessible Golden Oak View rooms overlook an adjacent residential development project and carry a $100 nightly credit at the time of writing.

Ritz-Carlton: 480 square feet with a king or two queens, a balcony and a marble bathroom with dual sinks and a separate tub. Executive Suites are 960 square feet. Club Level adds five daily food and drink presentations, breakfast included, and Ritz Kids entry for up to two children a day. No maximum occupancy is published, so confirm it for three or more guests.

Waldorf Astoria: 448 square feet with a king or two queens; the Oversized Deluxe Queen takes a rollaway for up to five, and Deluxe Suites are 945 square feet. You must be 21 to book and check in. Check-in is 4 p.m. at all three; check-out is 11 a.m. at the Ritz-Carlton and the Waldorf and noon at the Four Seasons.

Pools, lazy rivers and waterslides

Four Seasons: Explorer Island has a 7,590-square-foot zero-entry family pool, a lazy river with spray cannons, a waterfall and a rapids section, a splash zone and The Drop, two 242-foot slides with a 42-inch minimum height. Oasis, a lakeside infinity-edge pool with a whirlpool, is for guests 21 and up, and the resort’s spring 2026 release calls the water park heated.

Ritz-Carlton: its own heated pool has rentable cabanas and daybeds, and guests share the JW Marriott’s Grande Lakes Waterpark: a quarter-mile, 670,000-gallon lazy river (8 a.m. to 10 p.m.) and three heated slides (10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; 48-, 42- and 40-inch minimums), plus the zero-entry Splash Cove. The spa’s heated lap pool is adults-only, with a spa day pass or treatment.

Waldorf Astoria: a cabana pool for laps, a zero-entry pool and a hot tub, open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., weather permitting. For thrills, head next door: the resort charge includes four tubes, first come, first served, for Signia’s lazy river, and Signia also has a waterslide.

Kids clubs and family extras

  • Four Seasons: Kids For All Seasons is free every day for ages 4 to 12, with games, crafts and supervised swim time. Explorer Island Takeover was $125 per child on Saturday evenings at last check, and Goofy & His Pals host a character breakfast on Thursdays and Saturdays.
  • Ritz-Carlton: Ritz Kids takes ages 4 to 12 for full days (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with lunch) or half days, booked 24 hours ahead, plus Kids Night Out with dinner on Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 9 p.m. Prices aren’t published on the program page.
  • Waldorf Astoria: WA Kids Club takes ages 5 to 12 for morning or afternoon sessions with lunch at $50 for one child, $40 for the second and $30 for each additional child, or $20 per child per hour, at last check. The resort charge adds a free kids’-menu dinner for children 12 and under, one per adult entrée, at La Luce or Harvest Bistro.

For a family of five, the Waldorf’s Oversized Deluxe Queen is the only standard room here listed for five (the Ritz-Carlton’s Residences sleep up to 6 or 10); at the Four Seasons you would need two rooms.

Spas and golf

All three spas hold Forbes Four Stars. The Ritz-Carlton Spa has the biggest published numbers, with 40,000 square feet, 40 treatment rooms, a salon and the adults-only lap pool. The Spa at the Four Seasons has 18 treatment rooms, including four couples’ suites, plus a whirlpool, steam room and solarium. The Waldorf Astoria Spa, which doesn’t publish its size, adds Himalayan salt therapy and Normatec leg recovery to its massages and facials.

  • Four Seasons: Tranquilo, an 18-hole, par-71 Tom Fazio course and certified Audubon sanctuary, with a 16-acre practice facility plus tennis and pickleball courts.
  • Ritz-Carlton: an 18-hole Greg Norman course that hosts the PNC Championship. At last check (October 14, 2026), the golf page said it was closed for enhancements from April 24 through October 31, so confirm it has reopened.
  • Waldorf Astoria: an 18-hole Rees Jones course with five sets of tees; the resort charge covers the practice range and putting green, with free club rentals after 2 p.m.

Dining and breakfast

Each resort has a signature steakhouse, and none includes breakfast in its standard rate.

  • Four Seasons: Capa, a 17th-floor Spanish steakhouse facing the fireworks, plus Ravello, The Lakehouse, Plancha, Lickety Split and Epilogue, an adults-only speakeasy. The resort calls Capa and Ravello Michelin-recommended (Capa held a MICHELIN star in the 2025 guide but is not on the 2026 list of starred Florida restaurants); Forbes lists Capa as Recommended.
  • Ritz-Carlton: Knife & Spoon (Forbes Four-Star), Highball & Harvest, the Lobby Lounge, Bleu by the pool and First Drop coffee, with the JW Marriott’s restaurants on the same campus.
  • Waldorf Astoria: Bull & Bear (Forbes Recommended; no shorts or flip-flops), Oscar’s Brasserie for the breakfast buffet, Peacock Alley and Aquamarine, plus Signia’s restaurants, including La Luce.

For breakfast, compare packages: the Four Seasons sells a Bed and Breakfast rate for up to two guests (not valid for the Goofy breakfast), the Waldorf’s offers page lists a Breakfast Included rate, and Ritz-Carlton Club Level includes breakfast.

With a car, the published charges add $113 a night before tax at the Ritz-Carlton ($55 + $58) and $110 at the Waldorf ($50 + $60). The Four Seasons total can’t be worked out: its January 2026 resort map lists $55 per room plus tax, Booking.com’s price breakdown showed US$60 plus tax in October 2026, and it doesn’t publish its valet rate. The Waldorf’s older welcome-letter page still shows $57 valet and $40 self-parking, while its more recently updated FAQ and policies list $60 valet and no self-parking, so ask which applies.

Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book. Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors perks apply only when you book directly with the brand. Our guide to Orlando resort fees shows how these charges appear at checkout.

Forbes stars and the feel of each resort

On Forbes Travel Guide’s Orlando page (checked October 14, 2026), the Ritz-Carlton is the only Five-Star hotel; the Four Seasons and the Waldorf are Four-Star, and Disney’s resort hotels aren’t listed. AAA’s 2026 Five Diamond list includes the Ritz-Carlton and the Four Seasons, not the Waldorf. Both rate annually, so treat this as a snapshot.

The mood differs more than the stars. The Four Seasons is a family resort first, with Oasis and the spa as grown-up escapes. The Ritz-Carlton is grander and more formal, with the busy waterpark on the JW Marriott side. The Waldorf, with its 21-and-over booking age and lap-pool deck, is the calmest. • You want a timetabled shuttle that includes Disney Springs, or a room type listed for five guests.

Frequently asked questions

Which is better for Disney World: Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton or Waldorf Astoria?

The Four Seasons. It sits inside the Walt Disney World gates, about 4 road miles from Magic Kingdom’s ticket center, with Early Entry every day and free hourly coaches to the four parks. The Waldorf also has Early Entry and a park shuttle, 4.5 to 6.5 road miles from the parks. The Ritz-Carlton is 12 to 15 miles away, with no Disney perks.

Which of the three is a Forbes Five-Star hotel?

The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes. When we checked Forbes Travel Guide’s Orlando page in October 2026, it was the only Five-Star hotel listed, while the Four Seasons and the Waldorf Astoria were Four-Star and all three spas held Four Stars. Forbes updates its ratings every year, so check the current list if the rating matters to you.

Do the Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton and Waldorf Astoria Orlando charge resort fees?

Yes. At the time of writing, the Ritz-Carlton charges $55 plus tax a night and the Waldorf Astoria $50 plus tax; the Four Seasons’ January 2026 resort map lists $55 per room plus tax, while Booking.com’s price breakdown showed US$60 plus tax in October 2026. Parking is valet: $58 plus tax at the Ritz-Carlton, $60 plus tax at the Waldorf (whose welcome letter also mentions $40 self-parking) and an unpublished rate at the Four Seasons.

Which has the best pool for kids?

The Four Seasons, for most families: Explorer Island has a zero-entry family pool, a lazy river with a waterfall and rapids, a splash zone and two 242-foot slides with a 42-inch minimum. Ritz-Carlton guests share the JW Marriott’s quarter-mile lazy river and three slides, with 40- to 48-inch minimums, and Waldorf guests use Signia’s lazy river and slide next door.

Is the Ritz-Carlton Orlando close to Universal and Epic Universe?

Yes. By road it is about 4 to 5 miles from Epic Universe’s parking toll plaza and 7 to 8.5 miles from Universal’s main garages, and the resort fee includes shuttles to Universal if you reserve 24 hours ahead. A room booked on its own, including on Booking.com, doesn’t come with Universal’s Early Park Admission.

Do any of the three include breakfast or free parking?

Not in standard rates. The Four Seasons sells a Bed and Breakfast rate for up to two guests, the Waldorf lists Breakfast Included and Valet & Stay packages on its offers page, and Ritz-Carlton Club Level includes breakfast in the lounge. Parking costs extra at all three, so compare package terms with your Booking.com rate.

Bottom line

Four Seasons vs Ritz-Carlton Orlando is a Disney-or-Universal decision more than a luxury one: the Four Seasons wins for Disney families, the Ritz-Carlton for Universal, Epic Universe and SeaWorld trips with Five-Star service, and the Waldorf Astoria is the quiet Disney-side choice with golf. Budget for resort fees and valet at all three.
