The best hotels in Altamonte Springs sit in two small clusters off I-4, 9 to 10 miles north of downtown Orlando. One is around Cranes Roost Lake and Uptown Altamonte, where you can walk to restaurants, the Altamonte Mall and a lakeside promenade. The other is on Douglas Avenue and State Road 436, just west of the interstate. From either, Universal Orlando is about 17 to 18 miles away by road and the Walt Disney World theme parks are about 29 to 32 miles south.
Altamonte Springs is a Seminole County suburb, not a resort area. It suits visits to family, work around Uptown Altamonte, a quieter base than International Drive, and quick trips to Orlando Sanford airport or Wekiwa Springs State Park. None of the seven hotels below lists a theme park shuttle, so plan on a car. To compare other parts of town, see our guide to where to stay in Orlando by area.
Quick answer: To walk everywhere, book Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando North, the only pick on Cranes Roost Lake, with two-room suites, a heated indoor pool, free cooked-to-order breakfast and self-parking for one car ($10 a day at last check in October 2026; it was free in May 2026). Hilton Orlando/Altamonte Springs is the full-service choice, with a restaurant, a bar and an outdoor pool. For free breakfast and suites by I-4, compare SpringHill Suites (heated indoor pool), Hampton Inn & Suites, TownePlace Suites and Residence Inn (full kitchens). The Ramada by Wyndham is the basic budget option.

How we chose these Altamonte Springs hotels
We stuck to hotels inside Altamonte Springs, around Cranes Roost Park and at the I-4 and SR 436 interchange, and checked pools, breakfast, parking and pet rules on each official Hilton, Marriott or Wyndham page. Hilton and Marriott block automated visits, so we used archived copies of their official pages (captured September 2025 to May 2026) and say “at last check” where that applies. Road distances come from OSRM routes checked in October 2026, and times assume light traffic. We did not stay at these hotels and don’t publish ratings, scores or fixed prices. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.

Yes, if you want a calm, practical base. Frequently asked questions
Is Altamonte Springs a good place to stay for Disney World?
It works, but it isn’t the most convenient base. The Disney theme parks are 29 to 32 miles away by road, about 45 to 50 minutes in light traffic and longer at rush hour, and none of the hotels in this guide lists a park shuttle. Standard Disney theme park parking is $35 a day at the time of writing. For a Disney-heavy week, stay closer to Lake Buena Vista.
How far is Altamonte Springs from Universal Orlando?
The hotels in this guide are about 17 to 18 miles from the Universal Orlando parking garages by road, or around 30 minutes in light traffic via I-4. Epic Universe’s parking is a little farther, about 20 miles. Some hotel pages quote 14 miles, less than the actual drive. Allow extra time on weekday mornings, and budget for Universal’s parking fee of $35 a day including tax at the time of writing.
Which Altamonte Springs hotels are walking distance to Cranes Roost Park?
Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando North is right on Cranes Roost Lake in Uptown Altamonte, with the mall about 0.1 mile away, according to Hilton. Hilton Orlando/Altamonte Springs says the park is about a mile away. The Hampton lists Uptown Altamonte at 0.7 mile, but the Douglas Avenue hotels sit on the other side of I-4, so a short drive is often easier.
Can you take SunRail from Altamonte Springs to downtown Orlando?
Yes, on weekdays. The Altamonte Springs SunRail station is at 2741 South Ronald Reagan Boulevard, about 2 to 3 miles east of the hotels, with parking. A one-way ticket to downtown Orlando stations costs $3 at the time of writing because the trip crosses from Seminole into Orange County. SunRail runs Monday through Friday only and doesn’t serve the theme parks.
Do Altamonte Springs hotels charge for parking?
Mostly no. At our last check, the Hilton, Hampton, SpringHill Suites, TownePlace Suites and the Ramada listed free parking, the Residence Inn charged $5 a day, and Embassy Suites $10 a day for one car (October 2026; free in May 2026). No resort fees were listed, but Embassy Suites’ rates included a $3 nightly mandatory charge, and the Hilton and Hampton pages have listed a daily Seminole County Tourism Improvement District assessment. Check the full rate breakdown before you book.
Which hotels in Altamonte Springs allow pets?
TownePlace Suites allows up to two pets of up to 100 lb each for $100 per stay. Residence Inn takes up to two pets of up to 75 lb for $100 per stay. Embassy Suites and Hampton charge $75 for one to four nights or $125 for longer stays. The Hilton and SpringHill Suites don’t allow pets. Rules change, so confirm with the hotel before you arrive.
Bottom line
For location and value, stay at Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando North: a suite, free breakfast and an indoor pool, with Cranes Roost Lake at the door. Choose the Hilton for full service, SpringHill or Hampton for an I-4 base with breakfast included, and Residence Inn or TownePlace Suites for kitchens and longer stays. Plan on a car for the parks.
