The best lakefront hotels in Orlando put a real lake outside your window and give you something to do on it: swan paddle boats on Crescent Lake next to EPCOT, sailboats and kayaks on Hyatt’s private Lake Windsong, pontoon rentals at villa resorts near SeaWorld and Universal, or a rocking chair over Lake Dora an hour north.

Below are nine hotels that sit right on the shore, with what their official pages say about lake-view rooms and rentals, plus fees, parking and park transport. Disney’s own lakeside resorts aren’t sold on Booking.com, so they get a short note at the end. Facts were checked in October 2026, using archived copies where brand sites block access; confirm fees and rentals before you book.

Quick answer: For a lake and the Disney parks together, book the Walt Disney World Dolphin: swan paddle boats on Crescent Lake, a boat to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry. For the most to do on the water, Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress offers canoes, sailboats, kayaks and paddleboards on its 21-acre private lake. Families who want a villa and a pontoon without a resort fee should look at Marriott’s Cypress Harbour Villas, and couples who want a quiet lake town should pick The Inn at Celebration or the Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora.

How we chose these lakefront hotels in Orlando

A hotel made the list only if its own pages put it on the shore of a lake or bay, not just near one. We then looked for:

  • Something to do on the water: boat or kayak rentals, fishing, docks, lakeside paths or lakeside dining described by the hotel.
  • Bookable lake views: a named Lake View room or villa.
  • Verified costs: resort fees and parking from official pages, dated when the source is older.
  • Park access: boats, shuttles or OSRM road distances, rounded.

We don’t use review scores, we didn’t stay at these hotels, and we don’t quote room prices: rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.

1. Walt Disney World Dolphin

The Dolphin’s pyramid tower rises straight out of Crescent Lake, which it shares with its twin, the Walt Disney World Swan, and with Disney’s BoardWalk, Yacht Club and Beach Club. Disney doesn’t own it, so you can book it on Booking.com. The resort’s pools, beach and watercraft page invites you to ride around Crescent Lake on a swan paddle boat or lie in a hammock on the white-sand beach, next to six pools, sand volleyball and a beachside playground.

The lake is also your commute. A water taxi leaves about every 20 to 25 minutes for EPCOT and Hollywood Studios (not in bad weather), and lakeside walkways lead to both: about 0.75 mile to EPCOT’s International Gateway and just over a mile to Hollywood Studios. The resort’s own photos show standard rooms looking straight over the water, so ask for a lake-facing room.

  • Why stay: the lake is both playground and route to two parks, with Early Theme Park Entry and the 7-day Lightning Lane window Disney gives its own hotels and a few others.
  • Getting there / to the parks: boats and walkways to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios; buses to Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs and Magic Kingdom (via the Transportation and Ticket Center). Standard theme park parking is included.
  • Good to know: a $50-plus-tax daily resort service package at last check. The parking FAQ lists self-parking at $40 plus tax a day and valet at $51 to $61 plus tax.

Best for: Disney-focused families and couples who want lake views, paddle boats and a walk to EPCOT. Torn between the twins? Our Swan vs Dolphin vs Swan Reserve comparison covers the differences.

2. Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort

The Four Seasons stands inside Walt Disney World Resort, its tower looking over a lake, the golf course and the pools. It’s the luxury choice for lake views rather than lake sports: the Lake View Room, about 500 square feet on floors two to five, faces the lake and resort pools and has a private balcony, according to an archived copy of the room page (May 2026). Lake View Deluxe Suites add space.

Four Seasons’ spring 2026 press release describes Oasis as an infinity-edge lakeside pool for guests 21 and up, with poolside service and cabanas, and The Lakehouse as a relaunched lakeside restaurant near the family Explorer Pool, open daily 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at last check (May 2026). We found no boat rentals on the resort’s pages.

  • Why stay: a quiet lake view, an adults-only lakeside pool and Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry every day, without booking a Disney-owned hotel.
  • Getting there / to the parks: at our last check, a free motor coach served the four Disney theme parks (Magic Kingdom via the Transportation and Ticket Center); get the daily schedule at the lobby’s Disney Planning Center.
  • Good to know: a nightly resort fee applies: $55 per room plus tax on the resort’s January 2026 map, and US$60 plus tax in Booking.com’s price breakdown (October 2026), so confirm it. The resort lists valet parking but publishes no price. The standard 3-day Lightning Lane window applies.

Best for: couples and families who want a balcony over the water at a five-star resort. Compare it in our best luxury resorts in Orlando.

3. Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress

If you want to get out on the water, this is the most complete lake resort near Disney. Hyatt’s resort activities page, archived on September 28, 2026, describes the private Lake Windsong with a hammock beach and canoes, sailboats, paddle boats, stand-up paddleboards, hydro-bikes and kayaks. Fishing kits are sold at the pool’s Towel Hut, kayak fishing is a bookable experience, and 1-mile and 3-mile trails run along the lake.

Hyatt sells Lake View rooms with one king or two double beds, and its home page (archived the same day) says the LakeHouse restaurant overlooks the 21-acre lake at breakfast, lunch and dinner, with On the Rocks along the shore beside the pool. That 800,000-gallon lagoon pool, with waterfalls, caves and a slide, is where you swim: Hyatt’s pages don’t mention swimming in the lake.

  • Why stay: the widest choice of lake rentals on this list, plus a spectacular pool and golf, 2 to 3 miles from Disney Springs.
  • Getting there / to the parks: Hyatt advertises a complimentary theme park shuttle; at last check it ran on a limited schedule to Disney and Universal, booked ahead. By car it’s about 7 miles to EPCOT or Magic Kingdom parking and 8 to 9 miles to Universal. It isn’t on Disney’s Early Entry list.
  • Good to know: a $50 daily resort fee and parking of $39 self or $54 valet a day at last check; Hyatt doesn’t say whether tax is included.

Best for: active families and couples who want to sail, paddle or fish between park days. Our Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress review covers rooms, pool rules and shuttle times.

4. Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek

The Wyndham Grand’s tower stands over a 10-acre lake in the Bonnet Creek enclave next to Walt Disney World, and it’s the pick for a lake view with fireworks on the horizon. The hotel’s FAQ says its Lakeview Rooms overlook the pools, the lake and the nightly theme park fireworks; they come as two queens with a balcony (up to 4 guests), a king with a balcony (up to 3) or Family Bunk rooms for 5 or 6. The resort lists fireworks viewing areas, fire pits and walking trails around the lake.

There are no boat rentals; the lake is for looking at and walking around. Back Bay Bar and Grill serves lunch and dinner with lake views, and guests share five lagoon-style pools and two lazy rivers with the neighboring Club Wyndham resort.

  • Why stay: lake-view balconies with fireworks views, big pools and a lower resort fee than the luxury hotels nearby.
  • Getting there / to the parks: a free scheduled shuttle to the four Disney theme parks and Disney Springs; by road about 4 miles to Hollywood Studios’ parking and 5 to 6 miles to EPCOT’s. Not on Disney’s Early Entry list.
  • Good to know: the FAQ lists a $42-plus-tax daily resort fee, self-parking at $36 and valet at $42, plus tax. The FAQ says Deluxe rooms overlook the resort entrance, so book a Lakeview room by name.

Best for: families who want a balcony over the water and a free Disney shuttle. More options are in our list of hotels with views of the Disney fireworks.

5. Marriott’s Cypress Harbour Villas

This Marriott Vacation Club resort near SeaWorld is built around a private bay, with walkways and bridges linking the villas, three outdoor pools, a children’s pool and a splash pad. Marriott’s resort page (archived April 2026) describes The Boathouse, which rents electric pontoon boats, paddle boats and kayaks, with fishing equipment and bait for a fee; ask the resort for rental prices.

Marriott describes two-bedroom villas with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, furnished balcony, separate living and dining areas and a whirlpool tub, and there’s nine-hole mini golf and tennis.

  • Why stay: boat rentals on a private bay, villa space and, according to Marriott, no resort fee.
  • Getting there / to the parks: Marriott says there’s no shuttle, so drive: about 2 miles to SeaWorld, 5 to 6 miles to Disney Springs, 6 miles to Universal’s garages and 10 miles to EPCOT’s lot.
  • Good to know: parking was $30 plus tax per vehicle per day (two vehicles maximum, no RVs) in April 2026. The overview advertises free Wi-Fi, but the FAQ ties it to Bonvoy members booking direct, so a Booking.com stay may not include it; confirm. Timeshare sales offers are possible.

Best for: families or two couples sharing a villa who want a pontoon afternoon close to SeaWorld.

6. Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa

Westgate Lakes calls itself a lakefront, full-service resort, and its villas line Big Sand Lake on Turkey Lake Road, between Universal and the Vineland Avenue outlets. Its activities page says the lakeside marina rents paddle boats by the half hour and other boats by the hour, naming paddle boats, pontoons and kayaks, and rents cane poles and rods for fishing from shore or a boat.

Westgate describes lake-view balconies or patios in the three-bedroom villas, and two patios overlooking Big Sand Lake toward the Walt Disney World fireworks in the four-bedroom Presidential Villa. On land there are seven heated pools, mini golf, a spa and the Treasure Cove water park, extra on most rates.

  • Why stay: a real marina with pontoons and fishing, villas with kitchens and a free Universal shuttle.
  • Getting there / to the parks: a free, reservable shuttle to Universal Orlando, about 4 miles away by road. No Disney shuttle and no Disney Early Entry.
  • Good to know: a $29.99-plus-tax resort fee, free self-parking at last check, 21+ check-in at 4 p.m. and a 10 a.m. check-out.

Best for: groups and multigenerational families who want a villa, a boat and Universal days. Our Westgate Lakes Resort review covers villa types and the shuttle.

7. Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort

Orange Lake Resort, on US-192 west of Walt Disney World, is the place for motorized fun on the water. The resort’s rentals page (checked October 2026) says Luxe Watersports at Water’s Edge rents jet skis, pontoon boats, kayaks and paddleboards, with jet ski drivers 16 or older. Prices vary by season and are paid separately, so confirm them before you go.

Away from the lake you get one- to four-bedroom villas with kitchens, a 1,200-foot lazy river in River Island, golf courses and an internal shuttle around the property.

  • Why stay: the only pick here with jet skis, plus villa space and a lazy river.
  • Getting there / to the parks: no complimentary park shuttle and no Disney Early Entry. By road it’s about 5 miles to Animal Kingdom’s parking and 10 miles to Magic Kingdom’s Transportation and Ticket Center.
  • Good to know: at our last check, a $45 resort fee per accommodation per night plus a $115 deposit per stay; the fee covers parking for two vehicles and Wi-Fi, not lake rentals. Discounted packages come with a timeshare presentation.

Best for: big families with a car who want jet skis or a pontoon between Disney days.

8. The Inn at Celebration, Autograph Collection

Marriott describes this white boutique hotel as perched lakeside in Celebration, and it sits on the town-center lake, steps from the shops, restaurants and the path around the water. Lakeside Kitchen & Bar serves American food on an outdoor terrace on the lake, and Marriott lists complimentary bicycle rental for the town’s walking and biking trails. The hotel’s photos show rooms facing the water; request one.

It’s a small, grown-up hotel rather than a resort: Marriott’s amenity list didn’t include a pool at last check, so confirm if swimming matters.

  • Why stay: a walkable lakeside town with dinner and a lake loop outside the door, 15 to 20 minutes from the Disney parks.
  • Getting there / to the parks: no hotel shuttle; drive about 7 miles to Animal Kingdom’s parking, 8 to EPCOT’s and 9 to Magic Kingdom’s Transportation and Ticket Center.
  • Good to know: valet parking at $33 a day (the only option listed in a May 2026 archived copy), 21+ check-in, and up to two dogs of 35 pounds or less for a $75 fee per stay.

Best for: couples who’d rather stroll a lakefront than queue for a slide. For more quiet, adult-friendly stays, browse our romantic hotels in Orlando for couples.

9. Lakeside Inn

For old-Florida charm, drive about an hour north to Mount Dora. The Lakeside Inn says it was built in 1883 and is the oldest continuously operating hotel in Florida. Its oak-shaded grounds slope to the white-sand shoreline of Lake Dora, with a 200-foot verandah of rocking chairs, a large lakefront pool and two docks, and the inn lists guided boat tours, seaplane rides, bird watching and nature walks among things to do.

For the water, book a Lakefront Room, a king room the inn says has a panoramic view of Lake Dora. Expect a genuinely old building, with creaky floors and no elevators.

  • Why stay: sunsets over a big natural lake, guided boat tours and a walkable small town.
  • Getting there / to the parks: a getaway rather than a park base: about 45 miles and an hour to Magic Kingdom’s parking and 32 to 35 miles to Universal, with tolls on the fastest routes.
  • Good to know: parking is listed as free; check-in is 3 p.m. and check-out 11 a.m. Check whether your rate includes breakfast.

Best for: couples and history lovers adding a lake town to an Orlando trip. See our guide to the best hotels in Mount Dora for nearby B&Bs.

Disney-owned lakefront resorts

Several of Disney’s own resorts sit on its lakes and lagoons, but they’re booked through Disney, not Booking.com. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Grand Floridian Resort & Spa face the Seven Seas Lagoon outside Magic Kingdom, and Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club share Crescent Lake with the Dolphin and Swan. Swim in their pools, and check Disney’s site for current watercraft rentals.

How to choose a lakefront hotel in Orlando

  • You want to be on the water: Hyatt Grand Cypress has the most paddle and sail options; Westgate Lakes and Cypress Harbour rent pontoons; Orange Lake adds jet skis.
  • Disney is the focus: the Dolphin’s boats reach EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, the Four Seasons adds Early Entry, and Wyndham Grand has a free shuttle and fireworks views.
  • Universal or SeaWorld: Westgate Lakes has a free Universal shuttle; Cypress Harbour is closest to SeaWorld.
  • A quiet lake town: The Inn at Celebration near Disney, or the Lakeside Inn for a night away from the parks.
  • Swimming: plan on the pools, follow posted signs and keep children and pets back from the water’s edge.

If what you really want is sand, our guide to Orlando resorts with a beach covers Evermore’s swimmable lagoon and Universal’s beach pools.

Frequently asked questions

Which Orlando hotels are right on a lake?

On official pages, the Walt Disney World Dolphin and Swan sit on Crescent Lake, Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress on its private Lake Windsong, Wyndham Grand Bonnet Creek on a 10-acre lake, Westgate Lakes on Big Sand Lake and Marriott’s Cypress Harbour on a private bay. Orange Lake Resort, the Four Seasons and The Inn at Celebration also have lakefront settings, and the Lakeside Inn sits on Lake Dora in Mount Dora.

Which lakefront Orlando hotel is closest to Disney World?

The Walt Disney World Dolphin and the Four Seasons are both on Disney property. From the Dolphin you can walk about 0.75 mile along Crescent Lake to EPCOT’s International Gateway or take a boat to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. The Four Seasons ran a free coach to the four parks at our last check. Both are on Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry list, which the other hotels here aren’t.

Can you swim in the lakes at Orlando hotels?

Plan on swimming in the pools. The Dolphin, Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, Westgate Lakes and the other resorts on this list describe their lakes for boating, fishing, views and lounging, not swimming. Florida lakes are natural wildlife habitat, so obey posted signs and keep children and pets back from the shoreline. For open-water swimming at a resort, look at Evermore Bay instead.

Which Orlando resorts rent paddle boats or kayaks?

Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress lists canoes, sailboats, paddle boats, paddleboards, hydro-bikes and kayaks on Lake Windsong. Westgate Lakes rents paddle boats, pontoons and kayaks at its marina, and Marriott’s Cypress Harbour rents electric pontoons, paddle boats and kayaks at The Boathouse. The Swan and Dolphin have swan paddle boats, and Orange Lake rents jet skis and pontoons. Most charge per rental, so ask what any resort fee covers.

Can you see the Disney fireworks from a lakefront hotel?

Some rooms, yes. Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek says its Lakeview Rooms overlook the pools, the lake and the nightly theme park fireworks, and it has designated viewing areas. Westgate Lakes says its Presidential Villa patios overlook Big Sand Lake toward the Walt Disney World fireworks. Views depend on the room’s height and direction, so book the named room type.

Bottom line

Among lakefront hotels in Orlando, the Walt Disney World Dolphin is the best mix of lake and parks, Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress gives you the most to do on the water, and Cypress Harbour and Westgate Lakes pair villas with pontoon rentals. For a slower pace, pick Celebration or Mount Dora. Book a named lake-view room and check rental fees for your dates.
