Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is a 779-room resort tower on a private lake about 2.5 miles by road from Disney Springs, best known for an 800,000-gallon lagoon pool with waterfalls, caves and a waterslide. It sits just outside Walt Disney World, off Winter Garden-Vineland Road, with two Jack Nicklaus golf courses next door and a free (reservation-only) shuttle to the parks.
This review covers what you actually get for the $50 daily resort fee, what parking costs, how the shuttle schedule works, which rooms suit families and where the resort falls short. Facts come from Hyatt’s official pages (archived September 2026 copies) and the shuttle operator, checked in October 2026.
Quick answer: Book Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress if you want a resort day as much as a park day: the pool, the 21-acre Lake Windsong and the golf are the draw. Skip it if you need Disney Early Theme Park Entry, a kids club or frequent park buses, since it has none of those. Budget for the resort fee plus paid parking.

Location and distances to the parks
The resort sits at the end of Grand Cypress Boulevard, which leaves Winter Garden-Vineland Road (CR 535) just north of its junction with Hotel Plaza Boulevard. That puts you on the Lake Buena Vista side of Disney World, close to the hotels compared in our guide to the best hotels in Lake Buena Vista, but set back on a golf-resort campus rather than on a busy hotel strip.

Road distances below come from the OSRM route planner, rounded, with drive times assuming light traffic. Hyatt’s own page gives shorter figures (5.1 miles to the Magic Kingdom and 5.13 miles to Animal Kingdom); those look like straight-line distances, so plan with the road numbers.
| Destination | Road distance | Drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Disney Springs | About 2-3 mi | About 6-10 min |
| EPCOT | About 5-7 mi | About 11-17 min |
| Hollywood Studios | About 6 mi | About 15 min |
| Magic Kingdom (parking area) | About 7 mi | About 15-20 min |
| Animal Kingdom | About 7.5 mi | About 15 min |
| Universal Studios | About 8.5 mi | About 20 min |
| Epic Universe | About 8 mi | About 15-20 min |
| Orlando airport (MCO) | About 18 mi | About 30-35 min |
Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets is about 3 miles away and SeaWorld about 5. Disney Springs is close, but the route follows multi-lane roads, so drive or ride rather than walk.
Rooms and suites
All 779 rooms are in the resort’s high-rise, built around an 18-story atrium. Hyatt describes the rooms as bright and airy, and select rooms have balconies. The standard categories are one king bed or two double beds, sold with or without a lake or pool view, plus accessible versions with an accessible shower or tub.

Note that Hyatt lists the two-bed rooms as “2 Double Beds,” not queens, so confirm the bed size when you book. Double beds work for two adults and two young children, but families with teenagers may want a suite. Hyatt’s suite list includes Junior Suites, Executive Suites, Bi-level Suites, VIP Suites and the President’s House. The Executive Suite adds an extra bathroom, a sleeper sofa and a table, which makes it the most practical suite for larger families. The Hyatt pages we could access don’t publish square footage or maximum occupancy, so check the guest limit shown for each room type before you pay.
Check-in is at 4 PM and check-out at 11 AM.
Pools and recreation
The lagoon pool is the reason most families pick this resort. Hyatt describes it as an 800,000-gallon “private cove” with rocky cliffs, 12 waterfalls, caves you can swim through, a waterslide, two hot tubs and a splash pad. It’s open daily from 7 AM to 10 PM. There is no lifeguard on duty, guests under 18 need wristbands to get in, and the slide has a 48-inch minimum height.

Private cabanas can be reserved ahead online. Three fire pits overlooking the pool are lit at sunset every day, and the Market sells s’mores kits.

Beyond the pool, the resort leans on its 21-acre Lake Windsong, which has a private sand beach with hammocks. Canoes, sailboats, paddle boats, stand-up paddleboards, hydro-bikes and kayaks are offered, and fishing kits are sold at the pool’s Towel Hut. Dry-land extras include:
- Two 18-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed courses at Grand Cypress Golf: the Links Course, a tribute to the Old Course at St Andrews, and the Cypress Course.
- A basketball court, two pickleball courts, 5-hole mini-golf and a 7-hole pitch ‘n’ putt.
- Marked 1-mile and 3-mile trails, with bikes from the Bike Station.
- A 24-foot climbing wall, plus an arcade on the pool deck near the Fitness Center.
For another resort-style stay with a big pool deck near Disney, see our Wyndham Grand Orlando Bonnet Creek review.
Dining and breakfast
There are three sit-down restaurants plus a lobby bar and a grab-and-go market:
- Four Flamingos, A Richard Blais Florida Kitchen: seafood-focused restaurant with a tropical design. The resort calls it Michelin-recommended; it was in the Michelin Guide’s Orlando selection (no star) at last check.
- LakeHouse: the main restaurant overlooking Lake Windsong, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a sushi bar inside. Takeout and in-room delivery are offered.
- On the Rocks: poolside grill and full bar with shaded seating and TVs.
- Lobby Bar: cocktails under the atrium’s glass walls.
- Market: Starbucks coffee drinks, baked goods and snacks, handy before the morning shuttle.

Breakfast isn’t part of the resort fee, and Hyatt’s pages don’t list a free breakfast, so check whether your rate plan includes it. In-room dining adds a $5 delivery fee and a 21% service charge, per Hyatt’s site. Disney Springs, about 10 minutes away by car, adds more dinner choices.
Parking and resort fee
Hyatt’s hotel information page lists three parking options at last check: self-parking $39, valet $54 and premium parking $63. The page doesn’t say whether tax is included or whether the rate is per night, so confirm the total at check-in. Electric vehicle charging is available.
On top of that, a daily resort fee of $50 per room (subject to change) applies. Hyatt’s current page doesn’t itemize it. A June 2025 archived copy of the hotel’s policies page listed four round trips to Disney, a daily round trip to Universal and scheduled Disney Springs transportation, pickleball gear, bike rentals, the climbing wall, sailboat, paddleboard, kayak and paddle boat rentals, mini-golf and pitch ‘n’ putt, daily activities, two bottles of water a day, a welcome glass of champagne for guests 21 and over and a nightly poolside movie (weather permitting). Ask the hotel whether that list still applies.
Dogs are welcome with 72 hours’ notice: $200 per stay for up to 6 nights or $350 for 7 to 30 nights, with a 50-pound limit per pet, 75 pounds combined and a maximum of two pets. Service animals aren’t charged.
Transport to the parks
The free shuttle is run by Fabulous Buses, and Hyatt’s “Book Shuttle” button links to the operator’s page. Boarding passes are free for hotel guests but required, limited and first come, first served, and you can book up to 48 hours ahead. The published schedule at the time of writing:
| Destination | To the park | Back to the hotel |
|---|---|---|
| Universal Studios | 7:45 AM | 6:30 PM |
| Magic Kingdom (TTC) | 8:45 AM, 9:30 AM, 5:00 PM | 5:30 PM, 7:45 PM, 9:30 PM |
| EPCOT | 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM | 8:45 PM, 9:45 PM |
| Disney Springs | 5:00 PM | 8:00 PM, 10:00 PM |
Three limits are worth knowing. The operator’s page says it serves all four Disney parks, but the schedule shows no separate Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom runs, so ask the hotel how those parks are handled. There are no extra runs for special or separately ticketed events. And the single Universal round trip makes Universal days fixed. Hyatt also advertises “connecting service” to Epic Universe without details, so confirm how that works before you rely on it.
Driving gives you more freedom. Disney’s standard theme park parking was $35 a day at last check, while Disney Springs parking is free. Universal’s garages charged $35 including tax. The resort is not on Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry list, even though Hyatt markets it as a “Walt Disney World Resort Gateway Hotel.” If that extra 30 minutes matters, see our list of non-Disney hotels with Early Theme Park Entry.
Amenities: fitness, kids and Wi-Fi
Hyatt lists a fitness center, free internet access, laundry and room service. The pages we checked don’t mention a spa.
For families, there’s an important gap: the resort’s activities page (September 2026) lists the arcade, lake rentals and bookable resort experiences, but no supervised kids club or Camp Hyatt. If you need a few child-free hours, our roundup of Orlando resorts with kids clubs lists the resorts that still run one.

Who Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress suits
- Families with confident swimmers who want a pool day between park days and are comfortable without lifeguards.
- Golfers and active couples, thanks to two Nicklaus courses, trails, paddleboards and sailboats in one place.
- Drivers who will park at Disney or Universal and treat the shuttle as a backup.
- Conference guests: the resort has more than 102,000 square feet of meeting space, so expect groups on some dates.
Pros
- An 800,000-gallon lagoon pool with waterfalls, caves, a slide and a splash pad.
- A private lake with a beach; the June 2025 resort fee list included sailboat, paddleboard, kayak and paddle boat rentals.
- Two 18-hole Nicklaus golf courses beside the hotel.
- About 2.5 miles from Disney Springs and a short drive to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.
- Free park shuttle, including a daily round trip to Universal.
- Pet-friendly for dogs up to 50 pounds.
Limitations to know
- A $50 daily resort fee plus parking from $39 (at last check) makes the real cost much higher than the room rate.
- No Disney Early Theme Park Entry.
- Few shuttle runs; reservations are required and seats are limited.
- No kids club or lifeguards listed; children need constant supervision at the pool.
- Standard two-bed rooms are listed with double beds, not queens.
What to check before you book
- The current resort fee and what it includes, and whether tax applies to it and to parking.
- The shuttle schedule for your dates, and how Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and Epic Universe days work.
- The bed type and maximum occupancy of your room; book a suite for five or more.
- Whether your rate includes breakfast.
- Pool or slide maintenance during your stay, which you can ask about by phone at +1 407 239 1234.
Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.

Frequently asked questions
Does Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress have a shuttle to Disney?
Yes. A free shuttle run by Fabulous Buses goes to the Magic Kingdom Transportation and Ticket Center and EPCOT, with an evening run to Disney Springs and a daily round trip to Universal Studios. Boarding passes are required, limited and can be booked up to 48 hours ahead. The schedule has only a few departures a day and can change, so confirm times for your dates.
How much is the resort fee at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress?
Hyatt lists a daily resort fee of $50 per room, subject to change, at the time of writing. A June 2025 copy of the policies page said it covered the park shuttles, watercraft rentals, bikes, the climbing wall, mini-golf, daily activities, bottled water and a poolside movie. The current page doesn’t itemize it, so ask what’s included and whether tax is added.
Does Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress get Disney Early Entry?
No. Disney’s official Early Theme Park Entry list includes Disney’s own resorts and a small group of other hotels, such as the Swan, Dolphin, Four Seasons and the Disney Springs area hotels. Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress isn’t on it, even though Hyatt calls it a Walt Disney World Resort Gateway Hotel. That label doesn’t give you early park access.
How much is parking at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress?
At last check, Hyatt’s hotel information page listed self-parking at $39, valet at $54 and premium parking at $63. The page doesn’t say whether tax is included, and parking is charged on top of the $50 daily resort fee. If you plan to drive to Disney, also budget for park parking, which was $35 a day for standard spaces.
Can you walk to Disney Springs from Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress?
Not comfortably. Disney Springs is about 2 to 3 miles away by road, depending on the garage, along busy multi-lane streets. It’s about a 6- to 10-minute drive, and parking at Disney Springs is free. The hotel shuttle has a 5:00 PM departure to Disney Springs, with returns at 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM at the time of writing, so book a seat ahead.
Is Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress good for kids?
It’s very good for kids who love to swim. The lagoon pool has waterfalls, caves, a splash pad and a slide for riders 48 inches and taller, and there’s mini-golf, an arcade and lake rentals. The trade-offs are no lifeguard on duty and no supervised kids club, so parents need to stay with children at the pool.
Bottom line
Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is a strong pick if you want a real resort between park days: the lagoon pool, Lake Windsong and the Nicklaus golf are hard to match this close to Disney Springs. Go in knowing the costs and limits: a $50 daily resort fee, paid parking, a thin shuttle schedule and no Early Entry.
