The best hotels near LEGOLAND Florida fall into two groups: the three LEGOLAND-run hotels inside the resort in Winter Haven, and a cluster of ordinary chain hotels on and just off Cypress Gardens Boulevard, a few of them within about 1.5 miles by road of the resort entrance. Which one suits you depends on your kids’ ages, how much LEGO theming you want, and how many nights you can spare away from Orlando.

LEGOLAND Florida Resort is not in Orlando. It sits at One LEGOLAND Way in Winter Haven, in Polk County, and LEGOLAND puts it about 45 minutes from the Orlando theme parks and about 45 to 50 miles from Orlando International Airport. That drive is the main reason to book a hotel nearby instead of doing a long day trip.

Below you’ll find the on-site options (with what Early Park Access really includes), six off-site hotels in Winter Haven, Davenport and Lakeland, and a table that compares fees, breakfast and distance.

Quick answer: If your kids are roughly 2 to 12 and LEGO is the point of the trip, stay at the LEGOLAND Hotel or Pirate Island Hotel: both sit at the theme park entrance, include breakfast with most bookings, and get 30 minutes of Early Park Access. For a cheaper stay with free parking and breakfast, pick Best Western Plus Winter Haven Inn & Suites or Home2 Suites by Hilton Winter Haven (kitchens in every suite), each about 1.5 miles or less by road from the resort entrance. If you’re also doing Disney, Hampton Inn Orlando-Maingate South sits on the route between the two.

How we chose these hotels near LEGOLAND Florida

We started with location: every hotel here is either inside the resort, on Cypress Gardens Boulevard near the gate, or on the route LEGOLAND itself recommends from Orlando or Lakeland. We then checked amenities, breakfast, parking and pet policies on official pages (LEGOLAND’s site and help center, and the hotel or brand pages, using archived copies where brand sites block direct access) in October 2026. Last, we looked at value (free breakfast and free parking matter a lot here) and how easy it is to reach the parks.

We did not stay at these hotels, and we don’t publish scores or nightly prices. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.

The three LEGOLAND hotels are sold on Booking.com under a single listing, “LEGOLAND Florida Resort”, where each room type names its hotel. LEGOLAND’s own packages bundle multi-park tickets, so compare both before you book.

1. LEGOLAND Hotel

Pool with giant floating LEGO bricks in front of the colorful LEGOLAND Hotel

The original LEGOLAND Hotel is the most themed place to sleep in Polk County. It has 152 rooms in seven LEGO themes: Pirate, Adventure, Kingdom, LEGO DUPLO, LEGO Friends, LEGO NINJAGO and THE LEGO MOVIE. Every standard room has a king bed for adults plus a separate kids’ area with a twin bunk bed, a pull-out trundle and its own TV, and kids find a treasure-hunt chest with a LEGO prize on arrival day. LEGOLAND says standard and premium rooms sleep up to five (a maximum of three adults), and VIP suites sleep up to nine.

The outdoor pool (heated to about 80 degrees, seasonally per LEGOLAND, 4 feet at its deepest, with a lifeguard) has soft floating LEGO bricks and a water slide for riders 40 inches and taller. Indoors there’s a castle play area, free creative workshops and a nightly pajama dance party. Breakfast is served at Bricks Family Restaurant, family-style and all you care to eat, typically from 7 to 11 a.m.

  • Why stay: You walk from your room to the LEGOLAND and Peppa Pig Theme Park entrances, and you get 30 minutes of Early Park Access to select areas.
  • Getting there / to the parks: No shuttle needed; the hotel sits at the main entrance. From Orlando, LEGOLAND’s directions take I-4 west to exit 55, US 27 south and then Cypress Gardens Boulevard.
  • Good to know: At last check, LEGOLAND listed hotel self-parking at $33 plus tax per night and a $35 plus tax nightly resort fee (it covers Wi-Fi, pool towels, workshops and kids’ entertainment). Valet is included with suites. Check-in is 4 p.m. and check-out 11 a.m. Pets aren’t allowed; service animals are.

Best for: First-timers with kids roughly 3 to 10 who want the full LEGO immersion and the shortest walk to the gate.

2. Pirate Island Hotel

LEGOLAND’s second hotel sits next to the first and doubles down on one theme: pirates. Rooms come as standard pirate-themed rooms, pirate rooms with a view of Lake Eloise, and two-bedroom suites. Standard and lake-view rooms sleep up to five (two adults and three children) with a king bed and a kids’ area with bunk bed, trundle and entertainment center. Suites sleep up to seven and add a lounge with a sofa bed, LEGO play tables and complimentary valet parking.

The hotel has its own heated pool with soft LEGO bricks, and you can also use the LEGOLAND Hotel pool with its slide. Breakfast is at Shipwreck Restaurant, served family-style from about 7 to 11 a.m.; LEGOLAND warns that waits can top 20 minutes after 8:30 a.m.

  • Why stay: Same Early Park Access and walk-to-the-gate location as the LEGOLAND Hotel, with lake-view rooms and suites that suit bigger families.
  • Getting there / to the parks: Walk to the LEGOLAND Florida and Peppa Pig Theme Park entrances.
  • Good to know: The same $33 plus tax nightly self-parking and $35 plus tax resort fee applied at last check. Valet can be added (listed at $43 per car), and bell and valet service runs 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Best for: Families of five to seven who want a suite, and pirate-mad kids who’d rather not pick a room theme.

3. LEGOLAND Beach Retreat

Colorful LEGO-style bungalows with red brick rooflines and lawn at LEGOLAND Beach Retreat

The Beach Retreat is a different style of stay: brightly painted, LEGO-styled bungalows grouped in 13 coves, each with its own kids’ play structure and lawn. Every bungalow sleeps up to five, with one king bed plus a twin bunk bed and a pull-out trundle in the kids’ area. The pool is heated to about 82 to 85 degrees year-round and has a sandy beach area and a bigger playground next to it. Sandy’s Castle Restaurant serves the included family-style breakfast and has a LEGO sandcastle play area and a full bar.

Some notes before you book. Beach Retreat guests do not get Early Park Access. The resort sits about half a mile from the theme park (a 10 to 15-minute walk), and a free shuttle runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon and again from three hours before closing to one hour after. LEGOLAND describes it as a seasonal resort that opens on select operating days, and at last check its pool hours were listed for Friday to Sunday only, so confirm it’s operating on your dates.

  • Why stay: More outdoor space, warmer pool and a calmer, cottage-style setting.
  • Getting there / to the parks: Free shuttle to the theme park, water park and Peppa Pig Theme Park, or walk.
  • Good to know: The $35 plus tax resort fee and $33 plus tax nightly parking apply here too. Guests can park free at the theme park before check-in. No pets, including emotional support animals.

Best for: Families with younger kids who’d rather spend afternoons at a beach-style pool than in a busy hotel lobby.

This hotel at 5801 Roosevelt Drive sits less than half a mile from the theme park as the crow flies, and about 1.5 miles by road from the LEGOLAND Hotel entrance, which makes it the simplest non-LEGOLAND alternative. Breakfast is complimentary, and there’s an outdoor pool.

  • Why stay: Free breakfast and free parking a few minutes’ drive from the resort.
  • Getting there / to the parks: A very short drive to the LEGOLAND parking lot, where day parking started at $35 plus tax at last check.
  • Good to know: At last check, pets weren’t accepted and check-in was 3 p.m. Confirm room types and bed setups with the hotel, especially if your kids are older.

Best for: Budget-minded families who want to be close but don’t need themed rooms.

Free hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi and free self-parking are included, and there’s an outdoor pool.

  • Why stay: Kitchens and free breakfast close to the gate.
  • Getting there / to the parks: A quick drive along Cypress Gardens Boulevard, about 1.3 miles by road to the resort entrance.

  • Getting there / to the parks: A short drive down the same road, about 1.5 miles to the resort entrance.
  • Good to know: Parking was complimentary at last check. Breakfast isn’t included, and pets aren’t allowed (service animals only).

8. Hampton Inn Orlando-Maingate South

If LEGOLAND is one or two days of a bigger Orlando trip, this Davenport hotel on US 27 is a smart halfway base. It sits on US 27 just north of I-4 exit 55, where LEGOLAND’s own Orlando directions turn south, about 24 miles (roughly 40 minutes) from LEGOLAND and about 15 to 16 miles by road from EPCOT or the Magic Kingdom parking lot. Free hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi, free parking and an outdoor pool are included.

  • Why stay: You can reach Disney one day and LEGOLAND the next without changing hotels.
  • Getting there / to the parks: Drive south on US 27, then west on Cypress Gardens Boulevard to the resort.

9. Hyatt Place Lakeland Center

Lakeland is the other side of LEGOLAND, and LEGOLAND gives directions from the city via Orange Street, US 98 and SR 540. Hyatt Place Lakeland Center at 525 West Orange Street puts you downtown, next to the RP Funding Center and close to restaurants, about 22 miles (roughly 40 minutes) from LEGOLAND. Breakfast at The Breakfast Bar is free with your stay, and there’s a heated outdoor pool.

  • Why stay: A city base with dining nearby, handy if you’re also coming from Tampa.
  • Getting there / to the parks: Follow LEGOLAND’s Lakeland route (US 98 south, then SR 540 and Cypress Gardens Boulevard).
  • Good to know: Parking isn’t free here: Hyatt lists a nightly self-parking fee, so confirm the current rate. Up to two dogs are welcome for a fee ($100 per stay for 1 to 6 nights at last check).

Best for: Families combining LEGOLAND with Tampa or a downtown Lakeland evening.

Is staying on site at LEGOLAND worth it?

Two perks set the LEGOLAND Hotel and Pirate Island Hotel apart. The first is Early Park Access: hotel guests (plus top-tier annual passholders) get in 30 minutes before the park opens to the public. Be clear about what that means, though. LEGOLAND says it covers select areas: Guest Services, The Beginning (the LEGO Shop and Coffee Co.), SEA LIFE Florida Aquarium and Rebuild the World. It’s a head start, not extra ride time on every coaster. You still need valid park admission, and Beach Retreat guests aren’t eligible.

The second is breakfast. LEGOLAND says room-only rates and hotel-plus-ticket packages include it. Build Your Own Vacation bookings made between June 12, 2025 and April 13, 2026 may have had it as an add-on. Add the resort fee and paid parking, though, and an off-site hotel with free breakfast and free parking can cost far less. If your kids are under 8, the theming and evening entertainment usually justify one or two on-site nights. With older kids, the Best Western or Home2 Suites gets you almost the same convenience for a short drive.

How to choose where to stay near LEGOLAND Florida

  • Kids 2 to 10, LEGO-focused trip: Book the LEGOLAND Hotel or Pirate Island Hotel for two nights and plan on a full day in the theme park plus a half day at Peppa Pig Theme Park or the water park.
  • Family of six or more: Pirate Island suites (up to seven) and LEGOLAND Hotel VIP suites (up to nine) are the largest themed rooms here. For other options in Orlando, see our guide to rooms that sleep 5 or 6 at Disney World and Universal.
  • Tight budget: Best Western Plus or Hampton Inn Winter Haven, both with free breakfast and parking.
  • Doing Disney too: Stay in Davenport or the ChampionsGate area and treat LEGOLAND as a long day, or split your stay. Our review of the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate covers a resort option near I-4, and our list of the best hotels near Disney World covers the main Disney areas.
  • No car: The LEGOLAND Express shuttle runs round trip on select dates from ICON Park on International Drive (8:30 a.m.), and LEGOLAND’s help center also lists a stop at the DoubleTree by Hilton at the Universal Orlando entrance (8:15 a.m.), from $8 per person, returning about 30 minutes after the park closes. Admission isn’t included. That makes a hotel on International Drive a workable base for a single LEGOLAND day.

If you’re still deciding on the bigger picture, our guide to where to stay in Orlando compares every area, and our family-friendly Orlando hotels list covers the Orlando end of the trip. Planning the full week? See our Orlando itinerary.

Frequently asked questions

Is it worth staying at a LEGOLAND Florida hotel?

For families with kids roughly 2 to 10, usually yes for one or two nights. You walk to the gate, breakfast is included with most bookings, and the LEGOLAND Hotel and Pirate Island Hotel add 30 minutes of Early Park Access. With the $35 nightly resort fee and $33 parking at last check, though, off-site hotels with free breakfast and parking are often cheaper.

How far is LEGOLAND Florida from Orlando and Disney World?

LEGOLAND Florida Resort is in Winter Haven, and LEGOLAND says it’s about 45 minutes from the Orlando theme parks and about 45 to 50 miles from Orlando International Airport. From Orlando, take I-4 west to exit 55, US 27 south, then turn right on Cypress Gardens Boulevard; the park is four miles on the left. Traffic on I-4 can stretch that drive.

Do LEGOLAND hotel guests get early entry?

Guests of the LEGOLAND Hotel and Pirate Island Hotel get 30 minutes of Early Park Access before regular opening, but only to select areas: Guest Services, The Beginning (LEGO Shop and Coffee Co.), SEA LIFE Florida Aquarium and Rebuild the World. Valid park admission is required. LEGOLAND Beach Retreat guests are not eligible, and the areas can change based on operations.

Is breakfast included at LEGOLAND Florida hotels?

For most bookings, yes. LEGOLAND says room-only rates and hotel-plus-ticket packages include a family-style breakfast at Bricks Family Restaurant, Shipwreck Restaurant or Sandy’s Castle. The exception is Build Your Own Vacation bookings made between June 12, 2025 and April 13, 2026, which may have offered breakfast as an add-on. If you book through a third party, check the rate details.

Can you visit LEGOLAND Florida as a day trip from Orlando?

Yes. Many families drive over for a long day, and the LEGOLAND Express shuttle runs from ICON Park (and, per LEGOLAND’s help center, the DoubleTree by Hilton at the Universal Orlando entrance) on select dates from $8 per person, returning about 30 minutes after closing. With roughly 45 minutes each way, a day trip works best for one park. For the theme park plus Peppa Pig Theme Park or the water park, one or two nights nearby is easier.

What is the closest non-LEGOLAND hotel to LEGOLAND Florida?

Home2 Suites by Hilton Winter Haven says it’s within a mile of LEGOLAND, Best Western Plus Winter Haven Inn & Suites sits less than half a mile from the park as the crow flies, and Courtyard Winter Haven is on the same stretch of Cypress Gardens Boulevard. By road, each is roughly 1.5 miles or less from the resort entrance. All three offered free parking at last check.

Bottom line

For a LEGO-first trip with young kids, the LEGOLAND Hotel or Pirate Island Hotel is worth the premium for the walk to the gate, the included breakfast and Early Park Access. For better value, the nearby Best Western Plus and Home2 Suites give you free breakfast and parking for a short drive. If LEGOLAND is just part of a bigger Orlando vacation, stay on US 27 near I-4 and split the difference. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book, so check your dates early.
