Rooms that sleep 5 at Disney World are Port Orleans Riverside’s 5th Sleeper rooms (2 queens plus a child-size pull-down), most Deluxe rooms, where the fifth guest takes a daybed, and Deluxe Studios at six DVC resorts. For 6, Disney has the Value family suites, the Fort Wilderness Cabins and a few Deluxe rooms with a sleeper sofa.

At Universal Orlando, Kids’ Suites and Signature Collection 2-queen rooms sleep 5, and Cabana Bay and Endless Summer suites sleep 6 to 8. The Epic Universe hotels Stella Nova and Terra Luna cap every room at 4.

Quick answer: For 5 with a young child at Disney, pick a Port Orleans Riverside 5th Sleeper room (Alligator Bayou); for 5 with older kids, a Deluxe room with a daybed or a DVC Deluxe Studio. For 6 at Disney, pick an Art of Animation or All-Star Music Family Suite. At Universal, pick the Aventura Kids’ Suite for 5 on a budget, a Royal Pacific or Hard Rock Kids’ Suite for free Express, a Cabana Bay or Endless Summer suite for 6 and Helios Grand for Epic Universe.

How we checked these rooms: This guide lists the Disney World and Universal Orlando rooms that fit a family of 5 or 6 in one booking, with beds, bathrooms and occupancy rules from the official room pages. Fees come from each hotel’s published policies, and details that only planning sites report are credited to them. We use no scores or first-hand stays. Assignments and fees change, so check live availability.

Rooms that sleep 5 at Disney World

At Disney, the fifth bed in a standard room is often small.

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside

Disney sells Standard Location – 5th Sleeper rooms in Alligator Bayou with 2 queens and a child-size pull-down bed. They are listed for up to 4 adults, so the fifth guest must be a child. Other Riverside rooms sleep up to 4.

  • Why stay: It’s a dedicated 5-person room at Moderate rates, and the Ol’ Man Island pool has a waterslide.
  • Getting to the parks: Buses serve all four parks, and a boat runs to Disney Springs.
  • Good to know: Rooms are being refurbished in phases through August 2027. At the time of writing, you get Early Theme Park Entry and free parking and pay no resort fee.

Best for: Families of 5 with one younger child. Book directly with Disney using your real party size, and check live availability.

Other Disney rooms that sleep 5

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort: Planners have reported rooms with a child-size pull-down here, but Disney’s current room list (the resort is being refurbished) shows only 2-queen rooms for 4, so confirm with Disney before booking.

Deluxe resorts: Most standard rooms sleep 5 plus a crib, with the fifth guest on a daybed; standard rooms at Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge sleep 4 plus a crib.

DVC Deluxe Studios: Disney lists studios at BoardWalk Villas, Beach Club Villas, Boulder Ridge Villas, The Villas at Grand Floridian, Polynesian Villas and Riviera Resort as sleeping 5: a queen bed, a queen-size pull-down (a sleeper sofa in some Boulder Ridge studios) and a single pull-down. Other studios, such as Copper Creek’s, sleep 4.

Disney World rooms that sleep 6: family suites and cabins

For six people, or five with a teen who needs a real bed, Disney’s main one-room options are the Value family suites and the Cabins. At the Deluxe tier, the Beach Club Deluxe Room and the club-level Deluxe Rooms at BoardWalk Inn and Wilderness Lodge also sleep 6 (2 queens plus a queen sleeper sofa).

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Family Suites sleep 6: a queen bed in the bedroom, a double sleeper sofa and double TableBed in the living room, 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette.

  • Why stay: You get two bathrooms at the Value tier and the Big Blue Pool, the largest resort pool at Walt Disney World.
  • Getting to the parks: The Skyliner goes to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, and buses go to the other parks.
  • Good to know: Extended Evening Hours are only for Deluxe, DVC and a few select hotels, not Value resorts, and suites sell out early.

Best for: Families of 6 who want the Skyliner. Book directly with Disney.

Disney’s All-Star Music Resort

Family Suites sleep 6, with a queen bed in a separate bedroom, 2 queen-size pull-down beds in the living area, 2 full bathrooms and a kitchenette. Older descriptions show a different layout, so trust Disney’s current room page.

  • Why stay: Every bed is queen-size, and the Calypso Pool is shaped like a guitar.
  • Getting to the parks: Buses serve all four parks; there’s no Skyliner.
  • Good to know: There’s no resort fee at the time of writing, and breakfast isn’t included.

Best for: Families of 6 with older kids. Book directly with Disney.

The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

These Disney Vacation Club cabins sleep 6, with a queen and twin bunks in the bedroom, a queen pull-down wall bed, a full kitchen, one bathroom and a deck with a charcoal grill. Non-members can book cash stays through Walt Disney World.

  • Getting to the parks: A boat goes to Magic Kingdom, and buses go to the other parks.
  • Good to know: Six people share one bathroom.

Best for: Families of 6 who want to cook and plan several Magic Kingdom days. Book directly with Disney.

Universal rooms that sleep 6 to 8: Cabana Bay and Endless Summer suites

Universal’s suites for six are in its Value Inns and Suites tier. To compare rates, see our guide to the cheapest Universal Orlando hotels.

Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort

The Family Suite (430 sq ft) has 2 queens, a pull-out sofa, a kitchenette and one compartmentalized bathroom, for up to 6. The Volcano Bay View 2-Bedroom Suite (772 sq ft) sleeps 8 with a queen, 2 fulls, a pull-out sofa and 2 full bathrooms. Online booking caps a room at 6, so for 7 or 8 you may need to call 1-800-232-7827 (option 3). You can walk to the parks or take the free shuttle; Volcano Bay is closed from October 26, 2026 to spring 2027.

Universal Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites

Surfside has the same 440 sq ft suite with 3 queens (maximum 6) in a smaller hotel of 750 rooms, also with shuttle-only park access. Its policy doesn’t mention cribs, so ask about a Pack ‘n Play.

Epic Universe hotels: why families of 5 need two rooms at Stella Nova and Terra Luna

Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort have no suites, only 315 sq ft 2-queen rooms for up to 4. Universal’s booking tool counts children from age 0 toward that maximum, so plan for a baby to take one of the 4 spots. Your options:

  • Book two rooms. Parking is charged per vehicle ($30 plus tax a night at the time of writing), so two cars pay twice.
  • Switch to Helios Grand. It sleeps 5 and has its own Epic Universe entrance.
  • Pick a Cabana Bay Family Suite. It sleeps 6, and Early Park Admission still covers Epic Universe.

Off-site one-room options near the parks

DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando – Disney Springs Area

The 2 Queens with sofa bed suite (540 sq ft) sleeps 6: the queens are in the bedroom, and the living room has a queen sleeper sofa, wet bar, microwave and fridge.

  • Getting to the parks: The resort fee covers a daily Disney parks shuttle, reserved through the hotel.
  • Good to know: The resort fee was about $25 plus tax a night at last check, and parking and breakfast cost extra.

How to choose: one room, one suite or two rooms

  1. Count real beds. A pull-down or rollaway suits a young child, not a teen.
  2. Count bathrooms. Of the suites here, only the Disney family suites and Cabana Bay’s 2-bedroom suites have two.
  3. Weigh the perks. Free Express comes only with Hard Rock, Royal Pacific and Portofino Bay and doesn’t cover Epic Universe. At Disney, Deluxe and DVC stays add Extended Evening Hours to Early Theme Park Entry.
  4. Price out two rooms. Two Disney Value rooms sleep up to 8 with two bathrooms, and planners note they can cost less than a family suite.
  5. Add parking. Disney Resort hotels have free overnight self-parking. Universal hotels charge $26-$36 plus tax per vehicle per night but list no resort fee (at the time of writing).

Frequently asked questions

Which Disney World resorts have rooms that sleep 5?

Port Orleans Riverside sells 5th Sleeper rooms in Alligator Bayou with 2 queens and a child-size pull-down bed. Most Deluxe standard rooms sleep 5 with a daybed, except at Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Disney lists Deluxe Studios at six DVC resorts (BoardWalk, Beach Club, Boulder Ridge, Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Riviera) as sleeping 5.

Does a baby count toward room occupancy at Disney World or Universal?

At Disney, one child under 3 sleeping in a crib doesn’t count toward the room’s maximum, and cribs are free, but only one infant per room is exempt. Universal’s booking tool counts children from age 0 toward the room maximum, so plan for a baby to take one of the room’s spots.

What is the cheapest Disney World room that sleeps 6?

The Family Suites at Art of Animation and All-Star Music are the lowest-tier Disney rooms for 6. Both have 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette, and which one costs less depends on your dates, so price both with Disney. If they’re sold out, compare two standard Value rooms.

Which Universal Orlando hotels can fit 5 people in one room?

At the five Signature Collection hotels, a standard 2-queen room takes a fifth guest on a rollaway ($35 plus tax a night, one per room, at the time of writing). The Kids’ Suites there and at Aventura add a separate kids’ room with 2 twins. Loews’ online booking tops out at 6 guests per room, and at Stella Nova and Terra Luna you need two rooms.

Do the Universal Kids’ Suites include Express Pass?

Only at Hard Rock, Royal Pacific and Portofino Bay, where every registered guest gets free Express Unlimited at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, though not at Epic Universe. The Kids’ Suites at Aventura, Sapphire Falls and Helios Grand don’t include Express. Perks change, so check current terms.
