The best hotels near UCF are clustered along Alafaya Trail and inside Central Florida Research Park, right on the edge of the University of Central Florida’s main campus in east Orlando. One of them, The Celeste Hotel, sits on campus itself. The other eight in this guide are roughly 1.5 to 3 miles by road from Addition Financial Arena, where UCF holds its commencement ceremonies.
This part of town suits graduations, Knights games at the Acrisure Bounce House, campus tours and business trips to Research Park. It is not a theme park base. Universal is about 24 miles away by road and Magic Kingdom about 36, so you will want a car. Orlando International Airport (MCO) is about 21 miles away, and Kennedy Space Center is about as far as Magic Kingdom, with no tolls on the way.
Quick answer: If you want to walk to campus, book The Celeste Hotel, UCF’s first on-campus hotel, with a restaurant, a pool with cabanas and paid parking. For a restaurant, room service and free parking, choose the DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando East-UCF Area in Research Park. Families and longer stays do best at the TownePlace Suites (two-bedroom suites) or the Residence Inn, both with kitchens and free breakfast. For a simple stay, the La Quinta and Hampton Inn & Suites include hot breakfast and free parking.

How we chose these hotels near UCF
We started from the list of area hotels UCF gives commencement guests (a PDF last updated in January 2022) and narrowed it to nine within about 3 road miles of the arena that you can book on Booking.com, mixing full-service, suite and value options. We checked parking, breakfast, pools, pets and check-in times on each hotel’s own website or its official Marriott, Hilton or Wyndham page. Brand sites block automated access, so for most we read archived copies of official pages captured between January and June 2026 and say “at last check”.
Road distances come from OSRM route checks in October 2026 and assume light traffic. We did not stay at these hotels and publish no scores, star ratings or fixed prices. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book, so book early for graduation and home-game weekends.

All nine hotels are 18 to 21 road miles from MCO, about 30 to 32 minutes in light traffic. From campus and Research Park, the fastest airport route uses the SR 417 and SR 528 toll roads; our guide to Orlando toll roads explains how tolls work in a rental car.
1. The Celeste Hotel, Orlando, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

The Celeste is UCF’s first campus hotel, a five-story, 179-room Tribute Portfolio (Marriott) hotel that opened in October 2020 at 4105 N. Alafaya Trail, at Gemini Boulevard near the main entrance. Its space theme nods to UCF’s founding in 1963 to support the space program, and the room art was created by UCF art students.
Rooms come as Deluxe Kings, Double Queens, Junior Suites with a separate living room and pullout sofa, and a Presidential Suite. The Aurora restaurant serves breakfast daily from 7 to 11 am, plus lunch, weekend brunch and dinner, and there is a lobby bar. The pool has private cabanas, which the hotel also sells to non-guests through ResortPass.
- Why stay: It is the only pick where walking to campus is realistic. Our walking route check puts the Student Union about half a mile away (roughly 10 to 15 minutes) and the arena about 1 mile (around 20 minutes). The hotel says the arena and stadium are both under a mile away; we measured the stadium at about 1.3 miles on foot.
- Getting there / to the parks: MCO is about 21 miles (32 minutes) and Universal about 24 miles by road. Marriott says there is no shuttle.
- Good to know: The hotel’s website lists parking at $18 a day self and $23 valet, plus tax, and says prices may be higher during special events. Marriott’s page listed $15 and $20 in a February 2026 capture but showed the same $18 and $23 in April and June 2026 captures, so confirm the rate when you book. No pets (service animals welcome). Check-in is at 4 pm, check-out at 11 am.
Best for: Graduation families who want to walk to campus, prospective students on tours and Marriott Bonvoy members.
2. DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Orlando East-UCF Area

The DoubleTree at 12125 High Tech Avenue is the full-service option in Central Florida Research Park. Hilton lists an on-site restaurant, room service, an outdoor pool, a fitness center and meeting space, plus the brand’s welcome cookie and a convenience store serving Starbucks coffee.
- Why stay: A restaurant and room service under the same roof, with free parking at last check.
- Getting there / to the parks: About 5 minutes (1.6 miles) to the arena, 2 miles to the stadium and 21 miles to MCO. No airport shuttle is listed.
- Good to know: At last check (Hilton page archived February 2026), self-parking was free with no valet, the breakfast buffet cost extra and pets were not allowed. Check-in is at 3 pm, check-out at 11 am.
Best for: Business travelers, conference groups and anyone who wants dinner without getting back in the car.

3. Courtyard by Marriott Orlando East/UCF Area

The Courtyard sits at 12000 Collegiate Way in Research Park. Rooms have king or two queen beds, a mini-refrigerator and a microwave, and Marriott says balconies come with select rooms and all suites. - Getting there / to the parks: About 5 minutes to the arena. Marriott quotes MCO at about 17 miles, apparently straight-line; by road it is about 21 miles. No shuttle.
- Good to know: In a February 2026 capture of its overview page, Marriott said the Bistro was closed until further notice, with a light continental breakfast from 7 to 9 am and Starbucks drinks for purchase, and its FAQ said breakfast is not free. An April 2026 capture of the dining page listed the Bistro for breakfast and dinner again, so ask the hotel whether it has reopened. Parking was free and pets were not allowed.
Best for: Couples, solo business travelers and short stays where breakfast is not a priority.

- Why stay: Two-bedroom suites with a full kitchen make this a strong choice when grandparents and siblings share a graduation weekend.

- Good to know: At last check (January 2026), parking was free and breakfast ran from 6 to 9 am on weekdays and 7 to 10 am on weekends. Up to two pets of 35 lb or less are allowed for a $150 non-refundable fee per stay, plus tax. Check-in is at 4 pm.

- Good to know: At last check (January 2026), parking was free and breakfast ran from 6 to 9 am on weekdays and 7 to 10 am on weekends. Up to two pets of 35 lb or less are welcome for a $150 non-refundable fee per stay. Check-in is at 3 pm and check-out at noon.

How to choose a hotel near UCF
- To walk to campus: The Celeste. Every other hotel here means a 5 to 7 minute drive and a campus parking spot.
- For free parking: Every hotel on this list except The Celeste listed free self-parking at our last check.
- For dinner without driving: The Celeste’s Aurora restaurant or the DoubleTree’s restaurant. The Courtyard’s Bistro was listed as closed in early 2026, so check before you count on it.
- For families and longer stays: TownePlace Suites for two-bedroom suites, then the Residence Inn, Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites for kitchens and free breakfast.
- With a dog: Hampton Inn, Homewood, Home2 and La Quinta accept dogs or cats up to 75 lb. The Residence Inn and TownePlace limit pets to 35 lb. The Celeste, DoubleTree and Courtyard do not allow pets.
- For an early flight: Homewood Suites and La Quinta are about 18 road miles from MCO. If your flight leaves at dawn, a night at one of the Orlando airport hotels, including the in-terminal option, is less stressful.
Graduation, game days and campus tours
- Commencement: Ceremonies are held at Addition Financial Arena, 12777 Gemini Blvd. N. At the time of writing, UCF lists Fall 2026 commencement for December 11 and 12. Every guest needs a ticket, infants included, and doors open 60 minutes before each ceremony. Backpacks are banned and bags must be 12 x 6 x 12 inches or smaller. Graduates and guests park free in Garages D and H.
- Football: The Knights play at the Acrisure Bounce House (older listings may still use earlier names such as FBC Mortgage Stadium). For 2026, UCF Athletics added the West Softball and F1 parking lots and courtesy shuttles from Gate 14 to the softball complex and to Garage H.
- Campus tours: UCF describes a 90-minute walking tour with 10 stops and suggests visiting Tuesday to Thursday while classes are in session. Lots B-4, B-5 and B-6 are closest to the Duke Energy UCF Welcome Center.
Getting from UCF to the airport, the coast and the parks
These drives start at The Celeste; the other hotels are a few minutes away, so times are similar. They assume light traffic, and SR 408 and I-4 are often much slower at rush hour.

|---|---|---|---|
| Orlando airport (MCO) | 21 mi | 32 min | SR 417, SR 528 (tolls) |
| Orlando Sanford airport (SFB) | 16 mi | 25 min | SR 434, SR 417 (toll) |
| Downtown Orlando | 14 mi | 23 min | SR 417 (toll), SR 50 |
| Kennedy Space Center | 37 mi | 56 min | SR 50, SR 405 |
| Cocoa Beach Pier | 46 mi | 63 min | SR 50, SR 520, SR 528 (toll) |
| Epic Universe | 25 mi | 37 min | SR 408 (toll), I-4 |
| Universal Orlando | 24 mi | 36 min | SR 408 (toll), I-4 |
| Magic Kingdom | 36 mi | 52 min | SR 408 (toll), I-4 |
The usual Kennedy Space Center route on SR 50 and SR 405 avoids tolls, which makes UCF a handy base for a launch day. To wake up near the launch pads instead, compare our hotels near Kennedy Space Center. If theme parks are the main point of your trip, our guide to the best areas to stay in Orlando shows bases much closer to Disney and Universal.
Visiting a different UCF campus?
If your trip is not to the main campus, the right hotel changes completely:
- UCF Downtown: This campus is on Livingston Street in downtown Orlando, about 14 miles from main campus by road. Stay in one of the best hotels in downtown Orlando. UCF’s express shuttles between the two campuses are for students and employees with a valid UCF ID.
- Health Sciences Campus at Lake Nona: The College of Medicine is at 6850 Lake Nona Blvd., about 25 miles south of main campus according to UCF. See our picks for hotels in Lake Nona, or read our Lake Nona Wave Hotel review.
- Rosen College of Hospitality Management: It is at 9907 Universal Blvd., in the International Drive tourist corridor. The best hotels on International Drive are a much better fit than east Orlando.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a hotel on the UCF campus?
Yes. The Celeste Hotel, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel at 4105 N. Alafaya Trail, opened in October 2020 as UCF’s first campus hotel. It has 179 rooms, the Aurora restaurant, a lobby bar and a pool with cabanas. Unlike the other hotels nearby, it charges for parking: $18 a day self-parking and $23 valet, plus tax, at the time of writing.
How far is UCF from Orlando International Airport?
The main campus is about 21 miles from MCO’s A/B terminals by road, roughly 30 to 35 minutes in light traffic. The fastest route uses the SR 417 and SR 528 toll roads. Hotels a little farther south, such as Homewood Suites and La Quinta, are about 18 road miles away. None of the hotels in this guide listed an airport shuttle at our last check.
Where should I stay for UCF graduation?
For the shortest trip, stay at The Celeste, about 1 mile on foot from Addition Financial Arena. The Research Park hotels, such as the DoubleTree, Courtyard and Hampton Inn, are 5 to 6 minutes away by car, and UCF says guests can park free in Garages D and H. Book as early as you can and ask hotels directly about graduation rates, as UCF suggests.
How far is UCF from Disney World and Universal?
By road, Universal Orlando is about 24 miles from campus (around 36 minutes in light traffic) and Magic Kingdom about 36 miles (around 52 minutes), mostly on the SR 408 toll road and I-4. Traffic often makes those drives much longer. UCF-area hotels make sense for university trips, not as a base for several park days.
How far is UCF from Kennedy Space Center?
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is about 37 miles from UCF by road, roughly an hour in light traffic. The route on SR 50 and SR 405 has no tolls. Cocoa Beach Pier is about 46 miles away, also around an hour. That makes the UCF area one of the more convenient Orlando bases for a launch or a beach day.
Where can visitors park at UCF?
UCF sells an $8 daily visitor permit, valid for 24 hours, with your license plate serving as the permit; it is valid in green student or visitor areas. You can also pay by space through the ParkMobile app, or use the pay-by-plate spaces in lot B6 at the Visitor and Parking Information Center (three-hour limit). For commencement, UCF lists free parking in Garages D and H.
Bottom line
For most UCF trips the choice is simple: The Celeste if you want to walk to campus and do not mind paying for parking, or a Research Park hotel five minutes away with free parking. Pick a suite hotel such as TownePlace Suites or the Residence Inn for several nights or a kitchen. Book early for graduation and home-game weekends, and confirm parking and pet fees with the hotel.
