Rosen Plaza Hotel is a 14-story, 799-room convention hotel at 9700 International Drive, linked by a covered skybridge to the West Building of the Orange County Convention Center. Pointe Orlando’s restaurants and cinema are across the street, and the hotel runs a free scheduled shuttle to Universal Orlando and Epic Universe.
Like its sister hotels Rosen Centre and Rosen Shingle Creek, it charges no resort fee and includes free Wi-Fi in guest rooms, which makes it easier to budget for than its fee-charging convention-center neighbors.
Below are road distances, rooms, dining, parking, the shuttle schedule and the catches, checked on the hotel’s own pages in October 2026.
Quick answer: Book Rosen Plaza if you’re attending a convention in the West Building, want Pointe Orlando within an easy walk, or plan Universal days on a free shuttle. Self-parking costs $29 plus tax and there’s no resort fee. It’s a plain business-style hotel, though: one pool, no waterslide or kids club, and no Disney shuttle listed.

Location and distances
Rosen Plaza sits on the busy convention stretch of International Drive, between Rosen Centre to the south and the Pointe Orlando complex across the road. The convention center’s own walking guide says the Rosen Plaza Skywalk connects the hotel to the West Building near Hall F. If your event is in the North/South Building, expect a longer walk.

The hotel’s own times (Universal 5 minutes, Disney 10) look like best-case figures. Here are road routes from OSRM, the open-source routing engine, to each park’s guest parking:
| Destination | Road distance | Drive time | Hotel’s figure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pointe Orlando | About 0.4 mi on foot | 8–10 min walk | Across the street |
| ICON Park | About 1.2 mi | 5 min (25 min walk) | 3 min |
| Epic Universe | About 2.5–3 mi | 6–10 min | Not given |
| Universal garages | About 3.5–4 mi | 10–15 min | 5 min |
| SeaWorld | About 3 mi | 9–10 min | Under 5 min |
| Disney Springs | About 8 mi | 15 min | Disney: 10 min |
| EPCOT and Hollywood Studios | About 11–12 mi | 22–25 min | Disney: 10 min |
| Magic Kingdom (TTC lot) | About 13 mi | 22–25 min | Disney: 10 min |
| Orlando airport (MCO) | About 12.5–13.5 mi | 20–25 min | 15 min |
Times assume light traffic; add more at rush hour or when a big convention lets out. To compare the whole strip, see our guide to the best hotels on International Drive.
Rooms and who they sleep
According to the hotel fact sheet, Rosen Plaza has 799 rooms and suites: 763 rooms and 36 suites. The same sheet also says 800 guest rooms, and the accommodations page lists both 36 and 32 suites, so treat the counts as approximate. Every room is non-smoking. Standard rooms have two queen beds, free Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge, coffee maker, lighted makeup mirror, laptop-size safe and hair dryer.

The hotel says its two-queen rooms were redesigned in warm neutrals and soft greens, with walk-in showers. The room photos on Booking.com show navy walls and white panel headboards, which likely reflect the earlier decor, so your room may look different.
Suites lean toward groups and events:
- Executive King Suite (10): 660 sq ft with a wet bar, fridge and table for four.
- Plaza Suite (8): a parlor of roughly 300–330 sq ft (the hotel’s pages differ) with an optional adjoining bedroom and second bathroom, which suits families.
- Junior Suite (6): two TVs, a wet bar, sofa and chaise.
- Hospitality (10) and Presidential (2) Suites: entertaining spaces; the Presidential has about 1,000 sq ft plus an optional bedroom.
The hotel doesn’t publish a maximum occupancy or a square footage for standard rooms. A two-queen room is the natural fit for a family of four, but check the occupancy Booking.com shows for your room type before you add a fifth person. A 2022 hotel fact sheet lists cribs and rollaways; confirm one for your dates. The current fact sheet counts 9 roll-in-shower rooms and 20 more accessible rooms.
Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out at 11 a.m. Early check-in and late check-out (until 3 p.m.) cost $50 each, subject to availability. The hotel requires a physical, government-issued ID and doesn’t accept digital IDs.
Pool and recreation
There is one outdoor pool, seasonally heated, with a waterfall, a whirlpool spa and a pool lift. The hotel lists no waterslide, lazy river, splash pad or kids club.

Also on site: a fitness center, a gift shop, a business center, dry cleaning, Enterprise car rental and 3NINE, an event venue currently open only for private events. Guests get preferred tee times and rates at Shingle Creek Golf Club, about 5 minutes away.
Dining and breakfast
The hotel counts seven dining and lounge options, including the private-event venue 3NINE:
- Jack’s Place: the steakhouse, lined with autographed celebrity caricatures, open nightly 5–10 p.m.; caricature artists draw guests on Friday and Saturday evenings. Reserve on OpenTable.
- Cafe Matisse: the buffet restaurant, with breakfast from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m.
- Jack’s Lobby Bar: opens at 5 p.m., with burgers, sandwiches and dishes from Jack’s Place.
- ’39 Poolside Bar & Grill: burgers, wings and tacos, a daily happy hour and a Sunday brunch.
- Smoooth Java: Starbucks coffee, smoothies and pastries from 6 a.m.
- Lite Bite Express: deli sandwiches and snacks, 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. (the home page says 24-hour).

The home page says Cafe Matisse serves buffets twice daily, but the restaurant page lists only breakfast buffet hours. Call ahead if you’re counting on a dinner buffet.

Breakfast isn’t part of standard rates, as far as the hotel’s pages show; only some direct-booking packages include it. Pointe Orlando’s restaurants are a short walk away.
Parking and fees
The location page lists these charges for day and overnight guests, subject to change:
- Self-parking: $29 per day plus tax.
- Valet: $39 per day plus tax.
- Oversized vehicles: priced by size and number of days.
- EV charging: $0.35 per kWh through ChargePoint, then $3 per hour if you stay over an hour after charging.
There’s no resort fee. “No Resort Fee – Free Wi-Fi in Guestrooms” appears in the footer of every hotel page, and the packages repeat it. Our list of Orlando hotels with no resort fees shows how much that saves. Orange County adds 12.5% tax to room rates. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.
Transport to the parks
The hotel’s location and attractions pages describe a free daily shuttle to Universal Orlando, first come, first served. Sign up at the Concierge Desk in the main lobby. The location page says shuttles must be booked 24 hours in advance, so reserve the day before. You board at the LYNX and I-RIDE Trolley stop, and returns stop at other hotels, so the ride back takes longer.
| Route | Leaves hotel | Returns (Location page) | Returns (Attractions page) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, CityWalk, Volcano Bay | 8:15 a.m. | 5:00, 6:25, 8:00, 9:45 p.m. | 5:00, 6:25, 8:00, 9:25 p.m. |
| Epic Universe | 8:30 a.m. | 6:30, 7:35, 8:40, 10:00 p.m. | 5:25, 6:40, 7:55, 9:10 p.m. |
The two pages disagree on return times, so confirm when you sign up. With one morning departure, you may miss rope drop, and Universal’s on-site hotel perks such as Early Park Admission don’t apply. Universal Volcano Bay closes for maintenance from October 26, 2026, with reopening planned on or before April 1, 2027. If you’d rather drive, Universal’s standard parking was $35 including tax at last check.
For SeaWorld and Aquatica, you ride the 8:15 a.m. shuttle and change at Universal to the single 10:05 a.m. connector, returning the same way; a 10-minute rideshare is usually easier.
The hotel’s current pages don’t list a Disney shuttle, and Rosen Plaza isn’t on Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry hotel list. That means Lightning Lane bookings open 3 days ahead for you, not 7. Plan to drive (Disney’s standard theme park parking was $35 a day at last check) or use rideshare. The fact sheet also mentions scheduled transportation arrangements, so ask the concierge what it can set up and what it costs.
For the airport, the location page strongly suggests rideshare, though the recreation page mentions airport shuttle services, so ask. The I-RIDE Trolley runs along I-Drive daily from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at last check.
Amenities: Wi-Fi, fitness, spa and pets
- Wi-Fi: free in guest rooms and public areas; a faster tier costs $14.95 a day.
- Fitness: Life Fitness machines and free weights; no fee is published, but one package lists free access as a perk, so ask.
- Spa: none on site. The Spa at Rosen Centre is less than 5 minutes away and The Spa at Shingle Creek about 5 minutes.
- Dogs: one per room, in a limited number of rooms, for $150 plus tax per stay of up to 7 nights (details in the FAQ).
- Accessibility: accessible routes throughout, a pool lift, roll-in showers, and alert devices for hearing-impaired guests on request.
Who Rosen Plaza suits
Rosen Plaza is best for West Building convention-goers, couples and families who want Pointe Orlando’s dining, movies and WonderWorks on foot, and Universal fans happy with a fixed shuttle timetable.
It’s less suited to a Disney-heavy trip, or to kids who want a pool with slides. For those trips, compare other options in our guide to cheap hotels on International Drive, or stay closer to Disney property.
Pros
- Covered skybridge to the convention center’s West Building.
- No resort fee, and free basic Wi-Fi.
- Self-parking at $29 plus tax, less than at Rosen Centre, Hyatt Regency Orlando or Hilton Orlando at last check.
- Free scheduled shuttle to Universal and Epic Universe.
- Pointe Orlando is across the street, with Jack’s Place steakhouse on site.
Limitations to know
- Only one pool, with no slides, lazy river or kids club.
- Only one morning shuttle departure per park, and the hotel’s pages disagree on return times.
- No Disney shuttle, no Early Entry, and a 20–25 minute drive to most Disney parks.
- The standard room is two queens; a king is a check-in request, not a guarantee.
- Booking.com photos may show the earlier room decor.
What to check before you book
- Your convention hall: the skybridge lands at the West Building near Hall F.
- The occupancy shown for your room type, and whether you need a crib or rollaway.
- The current Universal shuttle times, and whether seats are available for your dates.
- Cafe Matisse hours if you plan on a dinner buffet.
- Any fitness charge, and whether your rate includes breakfast or parking.
Nearby alternatives
Sister hotel Rosen Centre, at the other end of the West Building, is bigger, with 1,334 rooms. It has an Olympic-size pool, a spa and its own skywalk near Hall A. Self-parking there is $40 plus tax, and it doesn’t charge a resort fee either. Rosen Shingle Creek, a few minutes’ drive away, adds a golf course, more pools and a resort setting.
The Hyatt Regency Orlando is bridged to both convention buildings but charges a $48 resort fee. Hilton Orlando connects to the South Concourse and has a lazy river, with a $47 plus tax resort fee. Frequently asked questions
Does Rosen Plaza Hotel charge a resort fee?
No. Every page of the hotel’s website says “No Resort Fee – Free Wi-Fi in Guestrooms,” and its packages repeat it. You’ll still pay Orange County’s 12.5% hotel tax and any parking. Wi-Fi faster than the free tier costs $14.95 a day. Early check-in and late check-out cost $50 each when available. Read the total on your booking screen before you confirm.
Is Rosen Plaza connected to the Orange County Convention Center?
Yes. The convention center says the Rosen Plaza Skywalk connects the hotel to the West Building near Hall F, and the hotel calls it a covered skybridge. If your event is in the North/South Building, plan on a longer walk through the West Building and across the Oversight Pedestrian Bridge, or take the I-RIDE Trolley.
Does Rosen Plaza have a shuttle to Universal or Disney?
There’s a free daily Universal shuttle. It leaves at 8:15 a.m. for the main parks and 8:30 a.m. for Epic Universe, with several evening returns. Sign up at the Concierge Desk at least 24 hours ahead. The hotel’s pages don’t list a Disney shuttle, so you’ll need to drive, use rideshare or ask the concierge about paid transport.
How much is parking at Rosen Plaza?
Self-parking is $29 and valet is $39 per day, each plus tax, for both overnight and day guests at the time of writing. Oversized vehicles are priced individually. Diners at Jack’s Place get free valet; the location page offers $15 valet to Cafe Matisse and ’39 Poolside diners, while the restaurant page says free self-parking. EV charging costs $0.35 per kWh through ChargePoint.
Can you walk from Rosen Plaza to Pointe Orlando and ICON Park?
Pointe Orlando is directly across International Drive, about a 0.4-mile, 8-to-10-minute walk to the center of the complex. ICON Park is about 1.2 miles north, roughly a 25-minute walk along I-Drive. In summer heat or with young kids, the I-RIDE Trolley, which stops by the hotel, is an easier option.
Is Rosen Plaza pet-friendly?
It’s dog-friendly, with a limited number of dog rooms and one dog per room. The fee is $150 plus tax for up to seven nights, then $50 per extra night, with a refundable $100 deposit if you pay cash. You’ll need vaccination records. Dogs must be crated when left alone and can’t go in the pool, restaurants or lounges.
Bottom line
Rosen Plaza Hotel is a practical, easy-to-budget I-Drive base. You get a skybridge to the West Building, Pointe Orlando across the street, a free Universal shuttle, $29 self-parking and no resort fee. Don’t expect resort-style pools or Disney perks, and confirm the shuttle times and your room setup before you go. Check your dates for Rosen Plaza Hotel on Booking.com.
