Castle Hotel Orlando, officially Castle Hotel, Autograph Collection, is a boutique Marriott with white turrets and green spires at 8602 Universal Boulevard, about an 8-minute walk from ICON Park and 2.6 to 2.7 miles by road from Epic Universe’s and Universal’s parking. Instead of water slides, you get turret rooms, a round courtyard pool and rooftop event terraces facing The Wheel.

We checked Marriott’s own pages, the Booking.com listing and our own routes on October 14, 2026. Here’s what each room sleeps, what parking costs and how the 21+ check-in rule works.

Quick answer: Book Castle Hotel if you’re a couple or a group of adults who wants a stylish, walkable base near ICON Park, a short drive from Universal and Epic Universe. Neither listing we checked shows a resort fee. Skip it if you need a free park shuttle, a family pool with slides or a Disney-focused base. The person checking in must be 21 or older, self-parking was $35 a day at last check, and Magic Kingdom’s parking is about 14 miles away.

Location: a castle between Universal Boulevard and I-Drive

Marriott places the hotel near the convention center, International Drive and Pointe Orlando, and on foot that holds up. OpenStreetMap’s foot router puts The Wheel at ICON Park about 0.4 mile (8 minutes) away, Pointe Orlando 0.7 mile (14 minutes) and the convention center’s West Concourse 1.2 miles (25 minutes).

ICON Park sits just beyond the spires. Road distances below come from OSRM, an open routing engine, to each park’s guest parking, without traffic.

Marriott lists the airport at 13.6 miles, in line with our routes to Terminals A and B; Terminal C is about 15 miles. Booking.com’s “7 miles from Disney’s Magic Kingdom” is a straight-line figure, so plan on about twice that by road. Owner announcements in 2020 and 2022 called the hotel “across the street” from Epic Universe, but the park’s guest parking is about 2.6 miles away by road, and its bus and taxi area is more than 2 miles away on foot.

Rooms at Castle Hotel Orlando: standard, tower and executive

Marriott’s rooms page (checked October 2026) lists five room types. All have pillowtop mattresses, marble bathrooms with a shower/tub combination, robes, a mini fridge, a coffee/tea maker, a safe and a desk. Marriott says the redesigned rooms have “a fresh, colorful palette”: think gold forest murals and teal sofas.

Room typeBedsSizeSleeps up to
King Guest Room1 king300 sq ft3
Two Queen Guest Room2 queens300 sq ft4
Tower King1 king340 sq ft3
Tower Queen2 queens340 sq ft4
Executive King1 king + sofa bed420 sq ft4

Book a tower room if you came for the castle. Marriott’s gallery captions show center and corner turrets with a sofa, lounge chairs or a small table. The Executive King, labeled a studio, adds a sofa bed and a bigger lounge area.

A few details matter for groups:

  • Extra beds: One rollaway ($25 a night) is allowed in the king rooms and the Executive King. Two-queen rooms take a crib but no rollaway, and each room allows one crib or rollaway in total.
  • Connecting rooms: Marriott lists them for some standard King and Two Queen rooms only, not for tower or executive rooms.
  • Accessibility: Roll-in showers come in the Two Queen and Executive King types, and accessible tubs in the King, Two Queen and Executive King. Tower rooms aren’t listed as accessible.
  • Room count: Marriott doesn’t publish one. Banyan Investment Group’s October 2022 purchase announcement said 213 rooms and noted a recent $8.2 million investment in the guest rooms, public space and exterior. The previous owner’s March 2020 announcement said 214.

Pool, whirlpool and rooftop terraces

The hotel has one round outdoor pool in a palm-lined courtyard, with a fountain in the middle. At last check, Marriott listed it as heated and open 9 am to 10 pm daily, with towels, a whirlpool next to it and a pool lift or sloped entry. Booking.com shows it open all year.

That’s the whole water program: no slides, splash pad, lazy river or cabanas appear on either listing. The Reign Pool Bar, which Marriott lists under pub cuisine, serves the courtyard from noon to 8 pm.

The rooftop is the signature space. Marriott’s events page lists the North Sky Terrace (up to 75 guests) and the South Sky Terrace (up to 100), and Marriott’s photo gallery shows market lights and a Ferris wheel view. Both are filed as event venues, and no page we read says they’re open to all guests every night, so ask at check-in.

Dining and breakfast

There’s one restaurant. The Guild Restaurant & Bar, off the lobby, is “available for all meals throughout the day,” per Marriott’s dining page. Dinner runs until 10 pm and drinks until 11 pm. The page lists breakfast from 6:30 to 11 am on weekdays (7 to 11 am on weekends), then noon to 11 pm, with American food and no reservations. Room service is available.

Breakfast isn’t complimentary, per Marriott’s dining FAQ. On Booking.com, breakfast-inclusive rates carry a $50-a-day breakfast credit (the listing calls it an American buffet), so compare them with room-only prices.

The bigger dining perk is the walk. ICON Park’s restaurants and bars are about 0.4 mile north, and Pointe Orlando is about 0.7 mile south. For steakhouses and sushi, Sand Lake Road’s Restaurant Row starts about 1.4 miles away on foot, so you’ll likely drive or take a rideshare. See our guide to hotels near Restaurant Row Orlando for the dining strip itself.

Parking, fees and deposits

These figures come from Marriott’s pages and the Booking.com listing, both checked on October 14, 2026.

Orange County’s 12.5% hotel tax is added to the room rate, and a November night we priced on Booking.com on October 14, 2026 added only taxes. Marriott lists EV charging (subject to availability), and Booking.com notes that you can’t reserve a parking space. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book, so check the full price breakdown before you pay.

Getting to Universal, Epic Universe, SeaWorld and Disney

Marriott’s page lists no theme park shuttle, and its airport section says the hotel doesn’t provide shuttle service. You have three options:

  • Drive: Universal’s garages and Epic Universe’s lot are about 7 to 8 minutes away without traffic. Universal’s standard parking was $35 a day at last check, on top of the hotel’s $35.
  • Rideshare: Often the simplest choice for Universal or Epic Universe, since it spares you two parking fees.
  • I-RIDE Trolley (for SeaWorld and I-Drive): The Red Line runs along International Drive about every 20 minutes, 8 am to 10:30 pm, south to SeaWorld and the Vineland outlets; the Green Line covers Universal Boulevard, Major Boulevard and Westwood Boulevard about every 45 minutes. Rides cost $2 ($1 for ages 3 to 9), and passes, which aren’t sold on board, start at $8 a day.

For Disney, plan on a car. Disney Springs parking is free, and the parks’ standard parking was $35 a day at last check. Castle isn’t one of the 15 non-Disney hotels on Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry list. It isn’t a Universal hotel either, so Universal’s on-site perks, like Early Park Admission for hotel guests, don’t come with your room. For hotels with Universal shuttles, see our guide to the best hotels near Universal Studios Orlando.

From the airport, Marriott lists Mears Transportation at $135 one way, with a reservation required. Mears Connect, the shared shuttle, serves Disney-area hotels only, so plan on a rideshare, rental car or private transfer.

Fitness, Wi-Fi, events and accessibility

The lobby leans into the theme with a unicorn tapestry and a gold chandelier. Marriott also lists:

  • Fitness: A renovated fitness center open 24 hours, with cardio machines, free weights and strength equipment, plus an outdoor fitness area.
  • Wi-Fi: Sources differ. Marriott says in-room internet is free for Bonvoy members who book direct, and its room data lists Wi-Fi “for a fee” for the Tower King. Booking.com says Wi-Fi is free in all areas. Confirm for your rate.
  • Services: Mobile key, daily housekeeping, room service, same-day dry cleaning, on-site laundry and a 24-hour front desk. The property is smoke-free.
  • No spa: Marriott’s current amenity list doesn’t include one. Its former website advertised a Poseidon Spa (2014 archive), so older listings may mention one, but don’t count on treatments.
  • Events and weddings: Eight event rooms, the largest being the Pool Courtyard (up to 220 guests), so private events can take over some spaces.
  • Accessibility: Accessible and van-accessible parking and accessible routes to the pool, restaurant and gym. Service animals are welcome without a fee.

Who Castle Hotel suits (and how the 21+ rule works)

Marriott and Booking.com both set 21 as the minimum check-in age, but the hotel isn’t adults-only. Booking.com says children of all ages are welcome (guests 18 and older are charged as adults), so a parent can check in for the family. Marriott’s overview even promotes family-friendly movie nights and pool parties. Our guide to adults-only resorts in Orlando explains why truly kid-free hotels are rare here.

Castle Hotel works best for:

  • Couples: Turret rooms, a quiet courtyard pool and ICON Park’s bars within walking distance. For bigger spa resorts, compare our romantic hotels in Orlando guide.
  • Adult groups and Halloween Horror Nights trips: Universal is about 8 minutes away by car, and HHN runs on select nights through November 1, 2026.
  • Convention attendees: The West Concourse is a 25-minute walk or a short ride.
  • Design lovers: It’s the only boutique pick in the tourist corridor in our guide to boutique hotels in Orlando.
  • Dog owners: Up to two dogs of 40 pounds or less are allowed.

It’s a weaker fit for families who want slides or a kids’ club, car-free Disney trips and tight budgets. Marriott Bonvoy points and member Wi-Fi apply to direct Marriott bookings, so don’t count on them with a Booking.com reservation.

Pros

  • About an 8-minute walk to ICON Park and 14 minutes to Pointe Orlando.
  • Roughly 7 to 8 minutes by car to Universal and Epic Universe parking.
  • Tower rooms with turret seating nooks, plus a 420 sq ft Executive King with a sofa bed.
  • Heated courtyard pool with a whirlpool, open until 10 pm at last check.
  • No resort fee shown on Marriott’s overview or the Booking.com listing.
  • Dog-friendly, with a 24-hour gym and room service.

Limitations to know

  • The person checking in must be 21 or older.
  • Self-parking was $35 and valet $45 a day at last check, and the parks charge again.
  • No theme park or airport shuttle.
  • One pool, no slides, no kids’ club and no spa.
  • Standard rooms are 300 sq ft, and two-queen rooms don’t take a rollaway.
  • Breakfast costs extra unless your rate includes the $50 daily credit.
  • The rooftop terraces are listed as event spaces, so access isn’t guaranteed.

What to check before you book

  • The age rule: Book in the name of someone 21 or older who will be at check-in with photo ID and a credit card.
  • Room type: Book a Tower King or Tower Queen if you want a turret, rather than hoping for an upgrade.
  • Current parking rates: ours are from October 14, 2026, and can change.
  • Wi-Fi terms for your rate, given the conflict between Marriott and Booking.com.
  • Rooftop access and any events planned during your stay.
  • The total price with tax, the $100 deposit hold and any breakfast package.

Frequently asked questions

Does Castle Hotel Orlando have a resort fee?

We found none. Neither Marriott’s overview nor the Booking.com listing showed a resort or destination fee when we checked on October 14, 2026. You’ll still pay Orange County’s 12.5% hotel tax, parking if you drive and a $100 refundable damage deposit, per Booking.com. Check the final price breakdown before you confirm.

How much is parking at Castle Hotel Orlando?

Marriott lists self-parking at $35 a day and valet at $45, and Booking.com also shows $35 a day for on-site parking, which you can’t reserve ahead (both checked October 2026). EV charging is available, subject to availability. Driving to Universal or Disney adds those parks’ parking fees.

Does Castle Hotel have a shuttle to Universal Studios?

No. Marriott’s page lists no theme park shuttle, and its airport section says the hotel doesn’t provide shuttle service. Universal’s garages are about 2.7 miles away by road and Epic Universe’s parking about 2.6 miles, so a rideshare or your own car takes about 7 to 8 minutes without traffic. Universal’s own parking charge applies on top of the hotel’s.

Can you stay at Castle Hotel Orlando if you are under 21?

You can stay, but you can’t be the one who checks in. Marriott and Booking.com both set 21 as the minimum check-in age. Booking.com says children of all ages are welcome, so younger guests can share a room that someone 21 or older checks into. A group of 18- to 20-year-olds traveling alone would need a different hotel.

Is Castle Hotel Orlando pet friendly?

Yes, for dogs. Marriott’s page allows up to two dogs per room, 40 pounds maximum, with a non-refundable fee of $150 for the first dog and $50 for the second, per stay. Booking.com says pets are allowed and charges may apply. Service animals are welcome without a fee. Tell the hotel about your dog when you book.

How far is Castle Hotel Orlando from Disney World?

By road, it’s about 8 miles to Disney Springs, 12.5 miles to EPCOT’s main lot, about 12 miles to Hollywood Studios and about 14 miles to Magic Kingdom’s Transportation and Ticket Center. That’s roughly 15 to 25 minutes without traffic. There’s no Disney shuttle and no Early Theme Park Entry, so Disney-heavy trips are easier from Lake Buena Vista.

Bottom line

Castle Hotel Orlando is a characterful boutique stay in the I-Drive area: turret rooms, a heated courtyard pool, rooftop event terraces and ICON Park a few minutes away on foot, with Universal and Epic Universe a short drive off. It suits adults who’ll drive or ride to the parks. Families who want slides or a free shuttle should look elsewhere. Confirm the 21+ rule, parking and Wi-Fi terms for your dates before you pay.
