The closest hotels near Gatorland are a small group: a Hampton Inn about a mile south on Orange Blossom Trail, then a few motels and extended-stay properties, with the nearest resort hotels around Grande Lakes, roughly 5 miles away by road. Gatorland sits on US-441 in south Orlando, just north of the Kissimmee line, so there’s no hotel strip outside its gate the way there is at Disney or on International Drive.
With a car, that’s no problem: parking is free, and the park says it’s 15 to 20 minutes from Walt Disney World, SeaWorld and Orlando International Airport. The real question is what else is on your trip, because the best base for Gatorland plus SeaWorld isn’t the best base for Gatorland plus Disney.
Below are 7 hotels, closest first, with measured road distances and each one’s breakfast, parking and shuttle terms. If Gatorland is one stop on a longer list, our guide to things to do in Orlando besides theme parks has more ideas.
Quick answer: For the shortest drive, book Hampton Inn Kissimmee North, about 1.1 miles away, with free hot breakfast and parking. For a kitchen and a lazy river, look at Marriott’s Lakeshore Reserve (no resort fee), or JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes for a full water park. If you’re pairing Gatorland with Disney, Embassy Suites and SpringHill Suites in Lake Buena Vista South are about 7 miles away and include breakfast.

What to know about Gatorland before you book
Gatorland calls itself “The Alligator Capital of the World.” It opened as a roadside attraction in December 1949 and, according to its 2023 fact sheet, now covers 110 acres at 14501 S. Orange Blossom Trail. Inside are a breeding marsh with an observation tower, rare white leucistic alligators, a free-flight aviary, a petting farm, the Gator Gully Splash Park and a train ride.
The shows are Gator Jumparoo, where big alligators leap out of the water for food, Alligators: Legends of the Swamp and Up Close Encounters. On the 2026 schedule they repeat from 10:45 AM to 4:30 PM, so you can see all three in one visit.
Hours, tickets and parking
Gatorland’s Hours and Prices page says it’s open every day from 10 AM to 5 PM, rain or shine, holidays included. Its park rules page still lists a 6 PM closing, so check the hours for your date. Parking is free.
| Ticket | Price (plus tax) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Adult (13 and up) | $34.99 | $3 off online |
| Child (3 to 12) | $24.99 | $3 off online |
| Senior (60 and up) | $31.99 | ID required |
| Annual pass | $54.99 adult | $39.99 child |
Prices are at the time of writing (the Hours page lists seniors at $31.98), and children 2 and under are free. Florida residents get half off single-day tickets at the gate through October 31, 2026. Strollers rent for $11 (single) or $16 (double), and outside food and coolers aren’t allowed.
Zip lines, off-road rides and night tours
The add-ons are what turn Gatorland into more than a quick stop, and most need a reservation.
- Screamin’ Gator Zip Line: five zip lines totaling 1,200 feet, launching from up to 65 feet over crocodiles and the breeding marsh. It takes about 90 minutes and includes all-day admission. The regular price is $79.99 plus tax; a weekday special was $52.99 plus tax at the time of writing (the page gives both the end of October and November 15, 2026 as its end date). Riders must be at least 37 inches tall and no more than 275 pounds.
- Gator Gauntlet: a single 350-foot zip line over the breeding marsh that Gatorland says guests with mobility challenges can ride.
- Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure: a 15-minute ride in 12-foot-high off-road vehicles through the swamp, from $44.99 plus tax for adults and $36.99 plus tax for children 3 to 11, park admission included. The minimum height is 36 inches.
- Gator Night Shine: a 1- to 1.5-hour flashlight tour of the breeding marsh for $24.99 plus tax, five nights a week (not Monday or Thursday). It starts at 7:30 PM through October 31 and 6:30 PM from November 1.
Night Shine is the best reason to stay close: a short drive back after dark beats the trip to a Disney-area hotel.
Visiting this month? Gators, Ghosts and Goblins, a daytime Halloween event included with admission, runs on the weekends of October 10 to 25, 2026. If you’re traveling with little ones, our guide to Orlando with toddlers covers strollers, naps and hotel choices.
How we chose
We started at Gatorland’s main parking lot off Orange Blossom Trail and measured driving routes with OSRM, an OpenStreetMap-based router, rather than straight lines. Hotel figures are often straight-line or to a property’s edge: Hilton lists Gatorland 0.6 miles from the Hampton Inn, which is about 1.1 miles by road to the main lot.
We kept the closest hotels whose rooms, fees and parking we could confirm on official pages in October 2026, using archived copies where Hilton and Marriott block direct access (“at last check” marks older figures). We added two Lake Buena Vista South hotels and one near Celebration for Disney-heavy trips, skipped extended-stay properties and motels we couldn’t verify, and don’t assign scores.

How to choose a hotel near Gatorland
Start with the rest of your itinerary, then use Gatorland as the tiebreaker.
- Gatorland plus SeaWorld or Universal: Stay at Grande Lakes. Lakeshore Reserve, the JW Marriott and the Courtyard are all about 5 miles from Gatorland and 3 to 4 miles from SeaWorld’s lot.
- Gatorland plus Disney: Stay in Lake Buena Vista South or near Celebration. Gatorland’s own directions from the Disney area follow Osceola Parkway east (part of it is tolled), then Orange Blossom Trail north for about a mile. Our guide to the best hotels in Kissimmee covers more options on that side of town.
- Night Shine or an early zip line: Stay at the Hampton Inn. Zip-line riders must check in 30 minutes before their slot, so a short drive helps.
- Evenings out in Kissimmee: Old Town Kissimmee is about 8.5 miles from Gatorland by road. If its car shows and rides matter more than gators, see our list of hotels near Old Town Kissimmee.
- The real nightly cost: Add parking and any resort fee before you compare. The JW adds a $55 resort fee and $42 self-parking per night before tax, while the Hampton Inn charges for neither.
None of these hotels’ pages mention a shuttle to Gatorland, so plan on driving or a rideshare.
Frequently asked questions
What is the closest hotel to Gatorland?
Hampton Inn Kissimmee North, just off Orange Blossom Trail, is the closest hotel we found: about 1.1 miles by road to Gatorland’s lot (Hilton’s 0.6 miles is likely a straight-line figure), with free hot breakfast and parking. The next closest on our list are Marriott’s Lakeshore Reserve, the JW Marriott Grande Lakes and the Courtyard Orlando South, 4.6 to 5.3 miles away.
How much are Gatorland tickets?
At the time of writing, a single-day ticket is $34.99 plus tax for ages 13 and up, $24.99 for ages 3 to 12 and $31.99 for seniors 60 and up, with $3 off adult and child tickets online. Children 2 and under are free, and Florida residents pay half price at the gate through October 31, 2026. Zip lines and tours cost extra.
Is parking free at Gatorland?
Yes. Gatorland’s Hours and Prices and Tickets pages both promise ample free parking, a nice change from Disney’s $35 standard theme park parking. The lot is right off South Orange Blossom Trail. If you book Gator Night Shine, the group meets at the far south end of the lot at dusk.
How far is Gatorland from Disney World?
By road, Gatorland is about 11 miles from Disney Springs, 13 to 14 miles from the EPCOT and Animal Kingdom lots and about 15 miles from Magic Kingdom’s Transportation and Ticket Center. Gatorland says it’s 15 to 20 minutes from Walt Disney World, but allow more time at rush hour. Hotels in Lake Buena Vista South sit roughly between the two.
What are Gatorland’s hours?
Gatorland’s Hours and Prices page says the park is open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM, rain or shine and on holidays, though its park rules page still mentions a 6 PM closing, so check before you go. Shows run from 10:45 AM to 4:30 PM on the 2026 schedule, and Night Shine starts at 7:30 PM through October 31.
Can you bring food into Gatorland?
No. Gatorland’s park rules ban outside food of any kind, including animal feed, as well as coolers and picnic baskets, and bags and strollers may be searched. You can eat at Pearl’s Good Eats or the snack bar. A hotel with free breakfast, such as the Hampton Inn or Embassy Suites, helps keep the day’s food costs down.
Bottom line
For most visitors, Hampton Inn Kissimmee North is the easy choice: it’s about a mile from Gatorland, and breakfast and parking are free. Pick Grande Lakes if SeaWorld or Universal is also on your list, or Lake Buena Vista South or Celebration if Disney is the main event. Check your dates for Hampton Inn Kissimmee North on Booking.com.
