The best hotels in Lake Nona sit in a master-planned community in southeast Orlando, about 7 to 8 miles south of Orlando International Airport (MCO), around Lake Nona Town Center, the USTA National Campus and the hospitals of Lake Nona’s Medical City. Right now you have six realistic choices: the art-filled Lake Nona Wave Hotel, an Aloft next to the tennis campus, a Courtyard and a Residence Inn that share a building in Town Center, an all-suite SpringHill Suites on Boggy Creek Road, and a dual Hampton Inn and Home2 Suites a few miles southeast.

Lake Nona is not a theme park area. Walt Disney World and Universal are roughly 16 to 24 miles away by road, none of these hotels lists a park shuttle, and you will want a car. What you get instead is a calm, walkable base with free parking at most hotels and a short hop to the airport.

Quick answer: For the most memorable stay, book the Lake Nona Wave Hotel, a design-led hotel in Town Center with a rooftop pool, balconies and its own restaurants (guests must be 21 or older to check in). For tennis events, the Aloft Orlando Lake Nona is the closest hotel to the USTA National Campus. For hospital visits or longer stays, the Residence Inn Orlando Lake Nona (kitchens, free hot breakfast, pets up to 20 lb) is a short walk from Nemours Children’s Hospital and the VA Medical Center. For an early flight on a budget, the SpringHill Suites Orlando Lake Nona is the closest to MCO and includes breakfast and parking.

How we chose these Lake Nona hotels

We included every hotel marketed as a Lake Nona property, plus the Hampton Inn and Home2 Suites that Hilton calls “Southeast Nona”. For each one we checked parking, breakfast, pools, pet rules and check-in age on the hotel’s own website or its official Marriott or Hilton page. Brand pages block automated access, so for those we read archived copies of the official pages from late 2025 and 2026 and say “at last check”. Drive distances come from an OSRM route check in October 2026 in light traffic, so allow extra time at rush hour.

We did not stay at these hotels, and we do not publish scores, star ratings or fixed prices. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.

1. Lake Nona Wave Hotel

King room with wave-pattern carpet, yellow armchair and floor-to-ceiling window at Lake Nona Wave Hotel

The Lake Nona Wave Hotel is Lake Nona’s flagship hotel. It stands at 6100 Wave Hotel Drive in Lake Nona Town Center and calls itself “Orlando’s Most Unexpected Hotel”. The homepage describes it as a One MICHELIN Key hotel with MICHELIN-recommended dining. The building is full of contemporary art, and rooms lean on technology: self-tinting View smart glass, an in-room tablet, app and voice controls, a 65-inch smart TV and a Nespresso machine. The hotel says its rooms and suites have private balconies.

The colorful Wave Pool is a rooftop deck with private cabanas (each with a sofa and TV) and is open daily from dawn until dusk. For food, the hotel lists BACÁN, Garni Café and The Nectar Room, plus Nami in its dining menu, and the hotel says its guests get complimentary access to the Lake Nona Performance Club, a 130,000-square-foot fitness and wellness center a short walk away.

  • Why stay: The most distinctive hotel in the area, with real restaurants, a rooftop pool and Town Center’s bars and shops on the doorstep.
  • Getting there / to the parks: The hotel says it is eight miles from MCO, and OSRM agrees: about 7 to 8 miles (17 to 19 minutes) to the main terminal, depending on the curb. It offers paid airport pickup and access to Lake Nona’s local shuttle (its FAQ names Beep) for getting around the community. EPCOT is about 18 miles (26 minutes in light traffic) and Universal about 19 miles.
  • Good to know: All guests must be 21 or older to check in. Check-in is 3 pm and check-out 11 am, and the hotel is fully cashless (cards only). Valet parking costs extra, and self-parking is on floors two and up of the adjacent Wave public garage; the FAQ did not list a garage rate when we checked, so ask when you book. Pets under 40 lb are welcome with a non-refundable cleaning fee of $150 for rooms or $250 for suites.

Best for: Couples, design lovers and business travelers who want the best hotel in Lake Nona and do not mind paying extra for valet parking.

2. Aloft Orlando Lake Nona

Aloft Orlando Lake Nona building lit at dusk, reflected in the lake in front

Aloft Orlando Lake Nona, at 7215 Corner Drive, is the hotel Marriott describes as the closest to the USTA National Campus. By road it is about 2 miles from the tennis center, roughly a six-minute drive. Marriott describes urban-inspired, loft-style rooms, and the hotel has both standard rooms (including two-queen rooms) and suites with separate living areas.

The ground floor is built for socializing: the Tempo + Grace restaurant, the W XYZ bar with cocktails and live music, and a pool table. Breakfast and snacks come from Re:fuel, a 24/7 grab-and-go pantry, rather than a free buffet. There is a heated saline outdoor pool and a fitness center, and the hotel connects directly to the Althea Lake Nona Events Center (Marriott lists it at 10,000 square feet), which is named after tennis great Althea Gibson.

  • Why stay: The shortest trip to the USTA campus, free parking at last check, and a lively bar and restaurant without leaving the building.
  • Getting there / to the parks: Marriott lists MCO at about 7 miles, and OSRM shows about 7 to 8 miles (16 to 18 minutes). EPCOT is about 18 miles and Universal about 19 miles by road. Marriott says the hotel does not provide a shuttle.
  • Good to know: Marriott listed complimentary on-site parking with EV charging, free Wi-Fi for Marriott Bonvoy members, check-in at 3 pm and check-out at noon (archived page, May 2026). Pets are welcome for $50 per day, with a limit of two per room. Free breakfast is not included.

Best for: Tennis players, families at junior tournaments, event guests and travelers who like a social hotel bar.

3. Courtyard by Marriott Orlando Lake Nona

Glass and white facade with palm trees at Courtyard by Marriott Orlando Lake Nona

The Courtyard Orlando Lake Nona is at 6955 Lake Nona Boulevard, in the heart of Town Center’s dining and entertainment district. Marriott says it is within walking distance of both Nemours Children’s Hospital and the Orlando VA Medical Center, and OSRM puts both about a mile away by car. Lake Nona’s developer says an entire floor is fitted with health and wellness features, and Marriott markets “Stay Well” suites designed to help you sleep better.

The Bistro serves breakfast in the morning and dinner and cocktails in the evening, with Starbucks coffee drinks. There is a heated outdoor pool and a 24-hour fitness center. It shares its building with the Residence Inn below.

  • Why stay: A practical, mid-range hotel in a walkable spot, close to the hospitals, with free parking at last check and Town Center restaurants a short stroll away.
  • Getting there / to the parks: Marriott lists MCO at about 7.9 miles; OSRM shows about 7 to 8 miles and 17 to 19 minutes to the main terminal. Marriott’s page listed Mears transportation to the airport at $25 one way with a reservation; confirm the current fare and whether it is per person. There is no hotel shuttle. EPCOT is about 19 miles by road.
  • Good to know: Complimentary on-site parking, no pets (service animals only), minimum check-in age 18, and check-in at 3 pm with check-out at noon (archived page, November 2025). Breakfast is paid.

Best for: Medical visits, short business trips and couples who want a reliable brand without the Wave’s prices.

4. Residence Inn by Marriott Orlando Lake Nona

Suite with full kitchen, breakfast bar and sofa at Residence Inn Orlando Lake Nona

The Residence Inn Orlando Lake Nona shares the Courtyard’s address on Lake Nona Boulevard but is built for longer stays. Marriott describes spacious, apartment-style suites with full kitchens and separate living areas, and Lake Nona’s developer lists 102 suite-style rooms with grocery delivery available. That makes it the obvious pick for long stays near Nemours Children’s Hospital.

A free hot breakfast is served daily from 6:30 to 10 am. Marriott also lists a heated pool and a 24-hour fitness center.

  • Why stay: Kitchens, free hot breakfast and free parking in one walkable Town Center location, which keeps longer stays affordable and easy.
  • Getting there / to the parks: Same as the Courtyard: about 7 miles to MCO, about a mile to Nemours and the VA, and about 19 miles to EPCOT or Universal by road. Marriott says there is no shuttle.
  • Good to know: At last check (May 2026), parking was complimentary with EV charging, pets were allowed (up to two, 20 lb maximum) with a $150 non-refundable fee per stay, check-in was 4 pm and check-out noon, and the minimum check-in age was 18.

Best for: Families on hospital stays, extended work trips and anyone traveling with a small dog.

Outdoor pool with green loungers and umbrellas beside SpringHill Suites by Marriott Orlando Lake Nona

SpringHill Suites Orlando Lake Nona is on the western edge of the area at 13700 Boggy Creek Road, closer to the airport than to Town Center. It is an all-suite hotel, so every room has a living area and a work space.

The free hot buffet breakfast runs daily from 6:30 to 10 am, and there is a heated outdoor pool, a fitness center and meeting rooms.

  • Why stay: The shortest drive to MCO of the six, plus free breakfast and free parking, which makes it a good-value pick before an early flight.
  • Getting there / to the parks: Marriott lists MCO at about 6 miles; OSRM shows about 5 to 6 miles and 14 to 17 minutes to the main terminal. It is also the closest of the six to the parks, at about 16 miles to EPCOT and 17 miles to Universal. Nemours is about 3 miles away. • Good to know: At last check (December 2025): complimentary on-site parking, no pets, minimum check-in age 18, check-in at 3 pm and check-out at noon. Marriott said the hotel had no EV charging stations.

Best for: Families on a budget, travelers with an early flight and anyone who wants Lake Nona prices with the quickest run to the parks.

6. Hampton Inn and Home2 Suites Orlando Southeast Nona

Exterior of Hampton Inn Orlando Southeast Nona with blue and gray facade and parking lot

The Hampton Inn Orlando Southeast Nona and the Home2 Suites by Hilton Orlando Southeast Nona share one dual-brand building at 10002 Eagle Creek Sanctuary Boulevard, near the Eagle Creek golf community southeast of Lake Nona. Both list a free hot breakfast, the outdoor pool and a fitness center. The Hampton has traditional hotel rooms, while the Home2 Suites is an extended-stay hotel with in-room kitchens, and Hilton mentions a patio with firepits.

This is the quietest setting on the list, and the farthest from the airport and the parks. Hilton’s Home2 page says the hotel is five minutes from golf and that the USTA National Campus is five miles away.

  • Why stay: A newer, dual-brand Hilton stay with breakfast included, kitchens if you choose Home2, and a pet policy that accepts larger dogs.
  • Getting there / to the parks: Hilton’s descriptions say 8 miles from MCO, but the same pages list the airport at 12 miles, which matches the road distance: OSRM shows about 11 to 12 miles and 21 to 23 minutes to the main terminal, about 23 miles to EPCOT and about 18 miles to Epic Universe. Hilton lists no airport shuttle.

Best for: Golfers, dog owners and families who want a quiet base with breakfast and do not mind a longer drive.

Who should stay in Lake Nona

Lake Nona works best when your reason for being in Orlando is not only the theme parks. It is a good fit if you:

  • Have an early or late flight. Every hotel here is 5 to 12 miles from MCO, and the Town Center hotels are about a 15-to-20-minute drive in light traffic. If you would rather sleep at the terminal itself, compare our guide to Orlando airport hotels, including in-terminal options.
  • Are here for tennis. The USTA National Campus opened in January 2017 and has about 100 courts on 64 acres. The USTA says many courts are open to the public year-round, and it serves junior, senior and wheelchair players.
  • Are visiting Medical City. Nemours Children’s Hospital and the Orlando VA Medical Center are about a mile from the Town Center hotels.
  • Want a quieter, grown-up base. Lake Nona has walking trails, lakes and restaurants without International Drive’s traffic. Our list of romantic hotels in Orlando for couples includes more ideas if that is your plan.
  • Are combining Orlando with a cruise. Port Canaveral is about 46 miles (roughly an hour) by road. See our guide to getting from Orlando to Port Canaveral.

If your trip is mostly Disney World, you will usually save time with a hotel closer to the parks. Our best hotels near Disney World covers those, and our guide to where to stay in Orlando compares every area.

Getting around from Lake Nona

Plan on a car or rideshare. Lake Nona has worked with Beep on autonomous shuttles since 2019 and offers Bird e-bikes and scooters, but these are for getting around Lake Nona, not to the parks. The Wave Hotel points guests to a live shuttle tracker at lakenona.ridefreebee.com for routes and schedules, which can change.

The fastest routes west to Disney and Universal use SR 417 and SR 528, which are toll roads. Our guide to Orlando toll roads explains how to pay. Disney’s standard theme park parking was $35 a day at our last check, and Universal’s garages charged $35 including tax, so budget for that on park days. Universal’s newest park is the easiest to reach from here: Epic Universe is about 15 to 18 miles from most Lake Nona hotels, and you can compare it with closer options in our hotels near Epic Universe guide.

How to choose a hotel in Lake Nona

  • For the full experience: Lake Nona Wave Hotel. It is the only one with destination restaurants, a rooftop pool and balconies, but it is adults-only at check-in (21+) and charges for valet parking.
  • For tennis: Aloft, the closest hotel to the USTA campus, then the Wave and the Town Center pair.
  • For hospital visits: Residence Inn for longer stays with a kitchen, or the Courtyard for a few nights. Both are about a mile from Nemours and the VA.
  • For early flights and value: SpringHill Suites, with free breakfast, free parking and the shortest drive to MCO.
  • For bigger dogs: The Hampton Inn and Home2 Suites accept dogs or cats up to 75 lb. The Wave’s limit is under 40 lb and the Residence Inn’s is 20 lb.
  • For families with kids under 21: Skip the Wave unless an adult is checking in, and look at SpringHill Suites, Residence Inn or Home2 Suites for suites and breakfast.

If you want a full-service resort with a spa and golf on this side of town, the Grande Lakes resorts are about 12 miles west by road. Read our Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes review to compare.

Frequently asked questions

Is Lake Nona a good place to stay for Disney World?

It works, but it is not the most convenient base. Lake Nona hotels are about 16 to 23 miles from EPCOT by road, roughly 25 to 35 minutes in light traffic, and none of them runs a park shuttle. You will drive and pay Disney’s parking fee. It makes most sense if you also have an early flight, a tennis event or a medical visit.

How far is Lake Nona from Orlando airport?

The Town Center hotels are about 7 to 8 miles from MCO by road, around 15 to 20 minutes in light traffic. SpringHill Suites on Boggy Creek Road is the closest at about 5 to 6 miles. The Hampton Inn and Home2 Suites in Eagle Creek are farther, at about 11 to 12 miles by road, even though Hilton’s hotel descriptions say 8 miles.

What is there to do in Lake Nona?

Lake Nona Town Center has restaurants, bars and Boxi Park, an open-air food park built from shipping containers. The USTA National Campus has public tennis courts, and Lake Nona has more than 40 miles of trails and over 1,000 acres of lakes and waterways. The Wave Hotel also points visitors to golf at Lake Nona and Eagle Creek and to Nona Adventure Park, an inflatable water park.

Which hotel is closest to the USTA National Campus?

Aloft Orlando Lake Nona, which Marriott describes as the closest hotel to the campus. By road it is about 2 miles, or around six minutes. The Lake Nona Wave Hotel and the Courtyard and Residence Inn in Town Center are about 3 miles away. The Hampton Inn and Home2 Suites, in Eagle Creek, are about 6 miles away.

Do Lake Nona hotels have free parking?

Most do. At our last check, Marriott listed complimentary on-site parking at the Aloft, Courtyard, Residence Inn and SpringHill Suites. The Hampton Inn and Home2 Suites charged $10 a day for self-parking. The Lake Nona Wave Hotel offers valet for a fee or self-parking in the next-door Wave public garage. Policies change, so confirm parking before you book.

Are there hotels near Nemours Children’s Hospital in Lake Nona?

Yes. The Courtyard and Residence Inn on Lake Nona Boulevard are about a mile from Nemours Children’s Hospital and the Orlando VA Medical Center, and Marriott’s Courtyard page says the building is within walking distance. The Lake Nona Wave Hotel is a similar distance. For stays of a week or more, the Residence Inn’s kitchens and free hot breakfast help keep costs down.

Bottom line

Lake Nona is the right base when the airport, the USTA campus or Medical City matters as much as the theme parks. Choose the Lake Nona Wave Hotel for a stylish, adults-oriented stay, the Aloft for tennis, the Residence Inn or Courtyard for hospital visits, and SpringHill Suites for value and the quickest airport run. Expect to drive to the parks, and check parking and pet fees before you book.
