Christmas in Orlando runs much longer than one day: in 2026 the theme parks start decorating in early November and keep the celebrations going into the first days of January. Disney, Universal, SeaWorld and Gaylord Palms have all published their 2026 holiday dates, and the town of Celebration has its nightly “snow” on the calendar again.
This guide puts every official date in one place, explains which events need a separate ticket, shows when the parks are calmest and busiest, and suggests where to stay depending on the celebration you care about most. Dates, prices and schedules change, so treat everything here as accurate at the time of writing and confirm on the official pages before you book.
Quick answer: For Christmas in Orlando 2026, Disney’s holiday season runs November 13 to January 6, Universal’s November 14 to January 3, SeaWorld’s on select nights November 6 to January 4, and Christmas at Gaylord Palms (with ICE!) November 13 to January 3. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (Magic Kingdom) and Disney Jollywood Nights (Hollywood Studios) need separate tickets. For decorations with fewer crowds, aim for the first half of December and avoid December 25–31.

Christmas in Orlando 2026 at a glance
Most holiday events are included with a regular park ticket. The two Disney evening parties are the exception: they are separately ticketed, date-specific events. ICE! is a timed attraction you book in advance, and Celebration’s snowfall is free.

Christmas at Walt Disney World
Disney calls its 2026 holiday season “November 13 to January 6”. During that window, all four theme parks add seasonal decorations and entertainment that come with regular admission:
- Magic Kingdom: holiday trimmings along Main Street, U.S.A., the Frozen Holiday Surprise castle show with Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Kristoff, and the Jingle Cruise version of Jungle Cruise.
- Hollywood Studios: Sunset Seasons Greetings, nightly holiday projections on the Hollywood Tower Hotel, plus seasonal decorations in Toy Story Land.
- EPCOT: the Festival of the Holidays (see below) and Living with the Land – Glimmering Greenhouses.
- Animal Kingdom: a 55-foot Christmas tree at the entrance, the Merry Menagerie animal puppets on Discovery Island and a holiday edition of Tree of Life Awakenings.
- Disney Springs: the Christmas Tree Stroll returns, but at the time of writing Disney had not posted 2026 details, so check its holiday page closer to your trip.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2026
The party takes over Magic Kingdom on 25 select nights from November 8 to December 22, 2026: November 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 24, 25, 27 and 29, and December 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20 and 22. It runs from 7 PM to midnight, and ticket holders can enter the park from 4 PM. You don’t need a separate day ticket or park reservation.
Disney lists tickets at $189 to $229 per person plus tax, depending on the date, with $10 off for children ages 3 to 9. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members save $10 on select nights. Disney warns that tickets are limited and may sell out before the event date, so buy early if a specific night matters.
What’s included: Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, the Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration castle show, “snow” on Main Street, U.S.A., holiday character meets and complimentary cookies and festive drinks at set locations. Space Mountain, Tomorrowland Speedway and Mad Tea Party get holiday makeovers during the party. Parades and fireworks can be cancelled for bad weather.
Disney Jollywood Nights 2026
Hollywood Studios’ after-hours holiday event runs on 15 select nights between November 7, 2026 and January 5, 2027: November 7, 14, 16, 21, 23 and 28; December 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21 and 23; and January 3 and 5. Hours are 7:30 PM to 12:30 AM, with entry from 5:30 PM. Tickets cost $169 to $199 plus tax, with $10 off for ages 3 to 9.
Disney lists more than 20 character experiences, shorter waits for major attractions, and Disney PhotoPass downloads from the event included in the ticket. Food and drinks are sold separately. It has a Hollywood-glamour theme, and it is the only one of the two parties with nights after Christmas (January 3 and 5).
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays
The festival runs November 27 through December 30, 2026. It brings Holiday Kitchens with seasonal dishes from around the world, the Holiday Cookie Stroll, storytellers sharing traditions from different cultures, Goofy dressed as Santa, the JOYFUL! show of gospel, R&B and holiday songs, and Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition scavenger hunt.

The highlight for many visitors is the Candlelight Processional at the America Gardens Theatre: the Christmas story told by a celebrity narrator with a choir and a 50-piece orchestra. Unlike the two parties, the festival has no separate event ticket: you need regular EPCOT admission, and festival food is paid for separately.
Universal Orlando holidays 2026
Universal’s holiday season runs from November 14, 2026 to January 3, 2027, and Universal says it is included with a theme park ticket or annual pass (blockout dates can apply to some passes). The celebrations reach all three parks:
- The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Christmas decorations and The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts, a projection show on the castle.
- Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular: the Grinch and friends in a holiday show.
- Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s: giant character balloons, floats and holiday music.
- Epic Universe: Snoggletog in How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and holiday decorations in SUPER NINTENDO WORLD.
- Universal hotels: holiday celebrations at the on-site resorts.
Check show and parade times in the official Universal Orlando app closer to your date. If you’re weighing a holiday trip to one resort only, our Disney vs Universal comparison breaks down which suits your group, and our guide to hotels near Universal Studios Orlando covers the on-site hotels that get Early Park Admission.
SeaWorld Christmas Celebration
SeaWorld Orlando’s Christmas Celebration runs on select nights from November 6, 2026 to January 4, 2027, and it is included with park admission. SeaWorld describes millions of lights, a “sea of trees”, snow flurries, live shows, holiday food and a Christmas market.
Santa meets guests in the Waterway Grill, Rudolph and Bumble are at Rudolph’s Christmas Town on Pipeline Pathway, and Dinner with Santa is sold on select nights. The Winter Wonderland on Ice skating show runs on select dates, and the FAQ mentions Holiday Reflections fireworks over the lagoon at park close, so check the show schedule for your day. One caution: at the time of writing, the same FAQ still gave November 7 to January 5, which look like last season’s dates, while the 2026 event banner says November 6 to January 4, so confirm your night on SeaWorld’s calendar. SeaWorld’s 2026 calendar also lists Hanukkah menorah lightings (December 4–12) and Kwanzaa kinara lightings (December 26 – January 1). The FAQ notes that many shows are indoors and run rain or shine.
Christmas at Gaylord Palms and ICE!
Christmas at Gaylord Palms runs November 13, 2026 to January 3, 2027 at the resort in Kissimmee, east of Walt Disney World. The signature attraction is ICE! featuring The Polar Express: scenes from the story carved from more than 2 million pounds of ice and kept at 9°F. The resort hands every guest a hooded parka; you’ll need closed-toe shoes for the ice slides, and most people spend 20 to 40 minutes inside.

The program also includes the POMP, SNOW & CIRQUEumstance holiday show, ice tubing and more than 3 million lights around the resort. Key rules from the official FAQ:
- Tickets are sold only online in advance; there is no box office on site.
- ICE! and many other activities use timed entry; arrive at least 15 minutes early.
- The Christmas FAQ lists parking at $38 self or $55 valet a day, plus tax; day visitors pay per entry, and the resort is cashless.
- Overnight guests get the Chill Pass, front-of-line access for ICE!, but still need ICE! tickets.
Now Snowing in Celebration
The town of Celebration, next to Walt Disney World, brings back “Now Snowing” every night from November 28 through December 31, 2026, from 5:30 to 9:30 PM in Celebration Town Center (701 Front Street). It’s free, and the official listing says more details are coming, so check the Visit Celebration events calendar before you go.

It’s an easy evening outing after a park day, with lakeside restaurants and a walkable downtown. Our guide to the best hotels in Celebration, Florida covers the places to stay within walking or short driving distance.
Crowds, weather and timing
Disney and Universal don’t publish crowd forecasts. Planner sites do, and WDW Prep School’s 2026 crowd calendar sums up the pattern at Walt Disney World:
| Dates | Expected crowds | What’s on |
|---|---|---|
| Nov 21–29 | High (Thanksgiving) | Both parties running; EPCOT festival opens Nov 27 |
| Dec 1–18 | Moderate | All festivals and both parties |
| Dec 19–24 | Rising fast | Last party nights before Christmas (Dec 19–23) |
| Dec 25–31 | Peak of the year | No party nights; EPCOT festival ends Dec 30 |
The first half of December is the sweet spot: every holiday event is running and crowds are lighter than at Thanksgiving or Christmas week. If you can only travel over Christmas, arrive at opening, plan your must-do rides first and use the evenings for free events such as Now Snowing.
On party nights, check Magic Kingdom’s hours for day guests before you plan a regular day there, and remember that the Disney after-hours parties end at midnight or later, so build a slow morning into the next day.
Weather is mild. Visit Orlando, the area’s official tourism board, says winters (December to February) are mild and dry, with daytime highs usually in the 60s and 70s°F, and recommends a light jacket for cooler evenings. Snow is extremely rare; the only “snow” you’ll see is the machine-made kind. For a month-by-month view of weather and crowds, see our guide to the best time to visit Orlando.
Where to stay for Christmas in Orlando
The weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year‘s coincide with the busiest park days, so hotels near the parks tend to fill early. Book a refundable rate as soon as you know your dates, and compare total costs: many resorts add daily resort and parking fees, plus the county hotel tax (12.5% in Orange County and 13.5% in Osceola County, where Gaylord Palms and Celebration sit). Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.

For Disney’s parties and EPCOT: Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace

This Hilton sits across from Disney Springs, a walk of about 5 to 7 minutes over a pedestrian bridge, so the Christmas Tree Stroll is on your doorstep. It’s one of the non-Disney hotels on Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry list, and its $41-a-night resort charge (plus tax) covers an hourly shuttle to all four Disney parks that you reserve in both directions. Self-parking was $38 and valet $48 a night, plus tax, at the time of writing.
Party nights end late, so ask the hotel whether the last shuttle back fits your party’s finish time, or plan a rideshare. Full details are in our Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace review.

For ICE!: Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center
Staying at Gaylord Palms puts ICE!, the holiday shows and the lights in your own lobby, and the Chill Pass gets overnight guests front-of-line access to ICE!. The daily resort fee ($45 at last check, in a May 2026 copy of its Marriott page) covers a shuttle to the Disney parks and Disney Springs and access to the Cypress Springs water park. Gaylord Palms isn’t on Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry list. Our Gaylord Palms Resort guide covers the rooms, fees and holiday packages.

For Now Snowing: The Inn at Celebration, Autograph Collection

This lakeside boutique hotel sits in downtown Celebration, a short walk from the nightly snowfall and the restaurants on the water. Its Marriott page lists no shuttle service, so plan to drive or use rideshare to the parks; at last check (a May 2026 copy of that page) parking was valet only, at $33 a day.

Other options
Disney says its own resort hotels put up holiday decorations and large Christmas trees, but you book those directly with Disney. For Universal-focused trips, the on-site hotels add Early Park Admission. Frequently asked questions
When does Christmas start at Disney World in 2026?
Disney’s 2026 holiday season runs from November 13, 2026 to January 6, 2027, when decorations and seasonal entertainment appear across the four parks. The ticketed events start earlier: Disney Jollywood Nights opens November 7 and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party November 8. EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays runs November 27 to December 30. Check Disney’s site for any updates before booking.
Is Orlando busy at Christmas?
Yes. WDW Prep School, a planner site, rates December 25 to 31 as peak Christmas Week crowds at Walt Disney World in its 2026 crowd calendar, with Thanksgiving week also busy. It calls December 1 to 18 the early-December sweet spot, with moderate crowds while every holiday event is running. Arrive at park opening and book hotels and dining early if you’re traveling over the holidays.
How much are Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets in 2026?
Disney lists 2026 tickets at $189 to $229 per person plus tax, depending on the night, with $10 off for children ages 3 to 9. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members save $10 on select early-season nights. The ticket covers the 7 PM to midnight party, with entry from 4 PM, and doesn’t require a separate park ticket.
Does it snow in Orlando at Christmas?
Practically never. Visit Orlando says snow is extremely rare and winter daytime highs are usually in the 60s and 70s°F. You will see artificial snow, though: on Main Street, U.S.A. during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, in SeaWorld’s snow flurries, and nightly in Celebration Town Center during Now Snowing, November 28 to December 31.
Is Universal’s holiday celebration included with a park ticket?
Yes. Universal says its 2026 holiday season, November 14 to January 3, is included with a theme park ticket or annual pass, though blockout dates can apply to some passes. That covers The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts, the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular, Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s and Snoggletog at Epic Universe’s Isle of Berk.
Where is the best place to stay in Orlando for Christmas?
It depends on your plans. The Disney Springs area suits Disney party nights and EPCOT’s festival, Gaylord Palms puts ICE! on site, Celebration lets you walk to the nightly snowfall, and Universal’s hotels suit a Universal-only trip. Whatever you choose, book a refundable rate early, because hotels fill up around Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s.
Bottom line
Christmas in Orlando is at its best in the first half of December, when Disney’s parties, EPCOT’s festival, Universal’s holidays, SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration and ICE! are all running and crowds haven’t peaked. Buy party and ICE! tickets as soon as you pick your nights, book a refundable hotel near the celebration you want most, and compare holiday rates in the search box on this page.
