Wyndham I-Drive Avanti Resort & Conference Center is the current name of the former Avanti Palms Resort Orlando. It is the same large, resort-style hotel at 6515 International Drive, about 1.5 road miles from Universal Orlando’s parking garages, with a big zero-entry pool, a 14-story tower and a resort fee that covers parking and park shuttles.
Visit Orlando’s meetings site says the property was formerly known as International Palms and Avanti Palms, and Booking.com still uses “avanti-palms” in the hotel’s web address. It is not the Avanti International Resort, a separate hotel about 1.4 miles south. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.
Quick answer: Book Wyndham I-Drive Avanti, the former Avanti Palms, for a low-cost, Universal-focused stay with a large family pool and rooms for up to 2 adults and 2 children. The $18-plus-tax nightly resort fee includes self-parking, Wi-Fi and scheduled park shuttles. The Disney shuttle is limited, with no Magic Kingdom run in late October 2026. Skip it if you need free breakfast for everyone, beds for five in one room or on-site hotel perks.

From Avanti Palms to Wyndham I-Drive Avanti Resort, and the other Avanti
Visit Orlando describes this property as “formerly known as the International Palms and Avanti Palms,” and the front desk email in the resort’s FAQ still uses the old name. Today the signs, the website, Booking.com and Wyndham’s brand site all say Wyndham I-Drive Avanti. Paramount Hospitality Management runs the hotel, which is part of Wyndham Rewards.
Paramount also manages Avanti International Resort at 8738 International Drive. The two hotels charge the same fee and use the same Disney shuttle operator, but they are different properties, so check that your confirmation shows 6515 International Drive.

The resort sits between Universal Orlando Resort and Sand Lake Road, and the upper tower floors look toward Volcano Bay, which is closed for maintenance from October 26, 2026 until on or before April 1, 2027. The hotel’s own figures vary: “one mile” and “1.5 miles” to Universal on its home page, and 1.3 miles to each Universal park and 1.9 miles to Epic Universe on its theme parks page. Our road routes from the hotel’s GPS point:
| Destination | Road miles (out / back) | Hotel’s figure | Main roads |
|---|---|---|---|
| Universal garages (toll plaza) | About 1.5 / 2.4 | 1 to 1.5 mi | I-Drive, Universal Blvd |

On foot, ICON Park is about 1.2 miles away (about 25 minutes), and Universal CityWalk about 1.7 miles (about 35 minutes) along busy roads. For a shorter walk to dinner, see our guide to hotels near ICON Park.
Rooms: garden buildings or the 14-story tower
The resort has about 650 rooms (official counts range from 650 to 653). The online room list shows only one king bed or two queen beds, and the FAQ says there are no extra beds.
| Room type | Building | Size | Sleeps |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deluxe or Garden Superior Double Queen | Garden | 324 sq ft | 2 adults + 2 children |
| Deluxe or Garden Superior King | Garden | 324 sq ft | 2 adults |
| Tower Double Queen (Deluxe, Superior, Premium) | Tower | 406 sq ft | 2 adults + 2 children |
| Tower King (Deluxe, Superior, Premium) | Tower | 406 sq ft | 2 adults |
Tower rooms are larger and open onto exterior corridors. Superior and Premium tower rooms list Volcano Bay, International Drive or pool views, and Premium rooms are on floors 7 to 14. Garden rooms are in the low-rise buildings, and the Superior versions face the pool. The FAQ says most rooms open onto open-air walkways.

The fact sheet lists a 42-inch TV, a microwave, a refrigerator, a coffee and tea maker, a safe, an iron, a hair dryer and a shower-tub combination. There is no kitchen or kitchenette.

Families of five do not fit in one room. The fact sheet mentions 7 suites with connecting parlors, but no suite was offered online at our check, so call the hotel. Cribs are a conflict: the resort’s FAQ says cribs are complimentary on request, while Booking.com says cribs and extra beds are not available. Confirm before you travel with a baby.
Pools and recreation
The resort describes a large zero-entry pool lined with palms, a heated whirlpool spa, an interactive children’s splash and play area, a sandy beach area and decorative fountains. Booking.com lists the pool as heated and open all year, while the resort’s pages call only the whirlpool heated, so ask if you travel in winter.

The resort’s pages do not list a waterslide or a lazy river. Outside food, drinks and coolers are not allowed inside the pool gates. The accessibility page lists a pool lift. There is also a game room, and the lobby sports bar has billiards, foosball and shuffleboard. For more pool-focused options, see our best hotels on International Drive.
Dining and breakfast
Breakfast is not included in standard rates. All four outlets are paid, and the hotel says hours may vary:
- Café & Marketplace: open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., with breakfast until 11:00 a.m. Breakfast plates cost $8 to $11.25 on the posted menu, and the kids’ menu is $9.50 per dish.
- Tower Barista: Starbucks coffee, grab-and-go snacks and pizza, from 6:30 a.m. to noon and 5:30 to 10:30 p.m.
- Poolside Bar & Grill: drinks and light meals, daily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- Avanti Sports Bar & Games: the lobby bar, from 5:00 p.m. to midnight, with a pub menu and sports on big screens.

For in-room dining, dial 115; the café adds a $2 delivery fee, an 18% gratuity and tax. Some Booking.com rate plans include breakfast, but the fine print says that plan covers 2 guests only.
Parking and fees
The resort fee is $18 plus tax per room, per night, according to the FAQ and fact sheet. It covers self-parking, Wi-Fi, scheduled theme park shuttles, local and 800-number calls and the fitness center. Booking.com’s price breakdown for 2-night sample stays in December 2026 and February 2027 showed a US$36 resort fee for the stay, plus a 12.5% tax on the room rate and the fee. With tax, the fee is about $20.25 a night. Booking.com calls parking free, but you pay the fee whether or not you bring a car. Our guide to Orlando resort fees compares other hotels.
| Charge | Amount | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Card hold at check-in | $50 (hotel) or US$100 (Booking.com) | Sources disagree |
| Pet fee | $50 per room | Hotel pet policy |
| Early check-in before 1 p.m. | $25, if a room is ready | Hotel FAQ |
| Late check-out, 3 to 4 p.m. | $60 (free until noon) | Hotel FAQ |
Check-in is at 4:00 p.m. and check-out at 11:00 a.m. The person who checks in must be 21 or older and pay with their own card. Debit cards are authorized for the full stay plus the hold. Wyndham Rewards points and member rates apply only to direct bookings, not to Booking.com reservations.
Transport to the parks
Universal Orlando. As a Universal Partner Hotel, the resort offers a complimentary scheduled Universal shuttle. You reserve every departure in person at the hotel, up to 24 hours ahead, and daytime seats are not guaranteed. The fine print says it is not valid for groups or special events. No times are posted online, and the English pages do not say whether it serves Epic Universe. The resort’s Portuguese-language page lists only Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay (June 2026 capture). Ask at the lobby desk, or compare our best hotels near Universal Studios.
Walt Disney World and SeaWorld. SSS Luxury Transportation runs these trips, and you book them in its online system at least 3 hours ahead. Be at the pickup area 10 minutes early; buses may run up to 20 minutes late. Groups of 10 or more may not ride, and luggage is not allowed.
| Destination | To the park | Back to the hotel |
|---|---|---|
| EPCOT | 9:10 and 11:40 a.m. | 6:30 and 10:30 p.m. |
| Animal Kingdom | 9:10 a.m. | 6:00 p.m. |
| Hollywood Studios | 11:40 a.m. | 6:15 p.m. |
| SeaWorld Orlando | 9:10 a.m. | 7:05 p.m. |
| Magic Kingdom | No run listed | No run listed |
These are sample times from the operator’s system, checked on October 26, 2026 for October 27, 28 and 31; November runs were not loaded yet. The system lists no Magic Kingdom, Disney Springs or Aquatica trips. The FAQ still names Aquatica, and the theme parks page mentions shuttles to “all the major theme parks.” Like other off-site guests, you can buy Lightning Lane passes 3 days ahead. Compare International Drive hotels with a Disney shuttle.
I-RIDE Trolley. The official map lists the resort at Red Line stop 8, a southbound stop. A ride costs $2 in exact change, passes start at $8 a day, and trolleys run from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The trolley reaches ICON Park and SeaWorld, but not Universal or Disney. Direct website bookings add two free one-day passes; Booking.com reservations do not. See our I-RIDE Trolley guide.
Driving and the airport. The fact sheet calls Universal Studios Florida a 5-minute drive, and Disney’s standard theme park parking is $35 a day. There is no airport shuttle. The FAQ suggests a taxi or a meet-and-greet from Platinum Transportation, a separate company. The airport is about 12 road miles via Sand Lake Road.
Amenities: fitness, Wi-Fi and services
- Fitness center: in the tower, included in the fee. Listed hours differ: 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. (FAQ), 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. (amenities page) and 24/7 (Wyndham).
- Wi-Fi: included in the resort fee, in all rooms.
- Concierge: a lobby desk for theme park tickets and shuttle schedules, plus the Universal Vacation Planning Center with a coupon book. Partner discounts exclude The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
- Housekeeping: a free daily “Room Refresh” and a full cleaning every fifth day.
- Pets: dogs and cats for $50 per room, up to two pets of 35 pounds each, with records emailed before arrival. Dog-friendly rooms are in the Garden building. Booking.com says 1 pet of 11 kg (about 24 pounds), so confirm.
- Accessibility: ADA King and ADA Double Queen rooms, some with roll-in showers and others with a tub and grab bars, plus elevators and accessible parking.

No spa or kids’ club is listed.
Who Wyndham I-Drive Avanti suits
It suits families of up to four and budget travelers who will spend most park days at Universal or Epic Universe and want a real resort pool for afternoon breaks. It is a weaker fit for Disney-first trips, with EPCOT about 11.5 miles away and no Magic Kingdom shuttle, and for groups of five or more. For more budget options, see our list of cheap hotels on International Drive.

Frequently asked questions
Is Avanti Palms Resort the same as Wyndham I-Drive Avanti?
Yes. Visit Orlando’s meetings site says the hotel at 6515 International Drive was formerly known as International Palms and Avanti Palms. It now operates as Wyndham I-Drive Avanti Resort & Conference Center, and Booking.com still uses “avanti-palms” in its web address. A February 2025 news post on the resort’s website announced the Wyndham name.
Is Wyndham I-Drive Avanti the same hotel as Avanti International Resort?
No. Avanti International Resort is a separate hotel at 8738 International Drive, about 1.4 road miles south, near ICON Park. Both are managed by Paramount Hospitality Management and charge an $18-plus-tax resort fee, but the buildings, rooms and trolley stops differ. Check the address on your confirmation.
How much is the resort fee at Wyndham I-Drive Avanti?
It is $18 plus tax per room, per night, on the hotel’s FAQ, and Booking.com’s breakdown matched it. With the 12.5% tax, that is about $20.25 a night. It covers self-parking, Wi-Fi, scheduled park shuttles, local calls and the fitness center, even if you do not use them.
Does Wyndham I-Drive Avanti have a shuttle to Disney World and Universal?
Yes, both are covered by the resort fee. You book the Universal shuttle in person at the hotel, up to 24 hours ahead. SSS Luxury runs the Disney shuttle, booked at least 3 hours ahead. In late October 2026 it went to EPCOT, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios once or twice a day, with no Magic Kingdom run.
Can you walk to Universal from Wyndham I-Drive Avanti?
You can, but it is not pleasant. Universal CityWalk is about 1.7 miles on foot, or about 35 minutes, along busy roads. By car, Universal’s garages are about 1.5 miles away, and the fact sheet calls it a 5-minute drive. The Universal shuttle, which the resort fee covers, or a rideshare is easier.
Bottom line
Wyndham I-Drive Avanti Resort, the former Avanti Palms, is a large, budget-friendly resort about 1.5 road miles from Universal, with a big family pool and an $18-plus-tax fee that includes parking and park shuttles. It is a strong pick for Universal-focused families of up to four. Disney fans should check the shuttle times first, and everyone should confirm cribs, pets and the card hold.
