CoCo Key Orlando (CoCo Key Hotel and Water Resort) is a 391-room family hotel at 7400 International Drive with its own 54,000-square-foot outdoor water park, about 2 miles from Universal Orlando. Water park passes, Wi-Fi and a scheduled theme park shuttle come with a mandatory daily resort fee, so the room rate you see online is not the full price.

Fees, water park hours and shuttle times change, so treat the figures below as correct at the time of writing and confirm them with the hotel before you book.

Quick answer: CoCo Key suits budget-minded families with kids of roughly 4 to 14 who are doing Universal, Epic Universe or SeaWorld and want pool days built into the trip. It is less suited to Disney-focused trips (one daily shuttle, to EPCOT only), families of 5 or 6 in a standard room (four water park passes), and couples who want a quiet hotel.

CoCo Key Hotel and Water Resort at a glance

  • Area: 7400 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819, about a mile north of ICON Park.
  • To the parks: about 5 to 10 minutes’ drive to Universal and Epic Universe. A free scheduled shuttle, included in the resort fee, runs to Universal (including Epic Universe), plus one daily run to EPCOT.
  • Park perks: Universal Partner Hotel with a Vacation Planning Center in the lobby. No Universal Express; Early Park Admission only through a Universal Orlando vacation package (check terms), and the shuttle is not valid for early entry.
  • Rooms and passes: rooms sleep 2 to 5, or 8 in the two-room Family Standard. Most rooms include 4 water park passes, the King Studio and Two Beds Tower 5, and the Family Standard up to 8.
  • Pools and water: 54,000 sq ft outdoor water park, about half under a canopy, with 14 slides and rides and two pools (the resort describes its outdoor pools as heated).
  • Breakfast: not included; there is a paid buffet on site.
  • Resort fee and parking: $45 plus tax per day; self-parking $15 and valet $18 per day plus tax. The resort fee and self-parking are waived on stays of 7+ nights, at the time of writing.
  • Check-in and check-out: 4 pm and 11 am.
  • Best for: Universal and SeaWorld families on a budget who want a water park at the hotel.

The water park: slides, height requirements and passes

The water park covers about 54,000 square feet (roughly 5,000 m²), about half of it under a canopy, with 14 slides and rides, two pools and interactive splash zones. Check heights before you promise anything to younger kids.

Kids under 36 inches can’t ride the slides listed above, so for toddlers the water cannons and splash features are the main draw. Kids who clear 48 inches get the full lineup.

How water park passes work

For hotel guests, water park admission comes with the daily resort fee, not the room rate, and it is capped per room. Most room types include four passes, the King Studio and Two Beds Tower include five, and the Family Standard (two connecting rooms) includes up to eight. Room pages describe the passes as valid for your entire stay.

The resort’s 2026 water park rate sheet says a maximum of two extra passes can be bought at check-in, and children under 36 inches get in free. So a family of six in a four-pass room, everyone over 36 inches, would need both extras, and a bigger group should book the Family Standard. Pass rules can change, so check current terms.

Day passes, cabanas and safety

Non-guests can buy day passes online in advance, so weekends and holidays can be busier than weekdays. Cabanas hold up to eight people (cushioned seating for six plus two lounge chairs), are booked online and often sell out, and the rental does not include water park admission.

Certified lifeguards are stationed throughout the park, complimentary life jackets are available, and children under 16 must be supervised by an adult.

Water park hours, weather and cooler months

This is an outdoor water park, about half under a canopy, not an indoor one. The official 2026 calendar and park rules show:

  • Opening time: 11 am on every operating day.
  • Closing time: varies by date, from 5 pm to as late as midnight on select dates.
  • Closed days: a few dates on the 2026 calendar are marked closed.
  • Cold weather: the park may close when it is below 59°F.
  • Lightning: everyone must leave the water when lightning is reported nearby, closures can extend to the canopy-covered sections, and pools stay closed at least 30 minutes after the last strike.

The canopy helps in sun and light rain, but it doesn’t make the park storm-proof. Summer afternoon thunderstorms are common in Orlando, so swim soon after the 11 am opening when you can. From roughly December to February, cold fronts can bring days below 59°F, so check the calendar and treat the water park as a bonus rather than the only reason to book.

Resort fee and parking: what you pay on top of the rate

CoCo Key charges a mandatory daily resort fee on top of the room rate, plus parking if you bring a car. This is what the official site lists at the time of writing:

ChargeAmount at the time of writingWhat it coversWaived on 7+ nights?
Resort fee$45 + tax per dayRoom’s water park passes, Wi-Fi, gym, kids’ activities, shuttleYes
Self-parking$15 + tax per dayParking at the hotelYes
Valet parking$18 + tax per dayValet serviceConfirm with the hotel
Extra water park passesPrice not publishedUp to 2 per room, bought at check-inNot stated

On stays under seven nights, the resort fee plus self-parking add about $60 a night before tax. On stays of seven nights or more, the official site says both are waived, so if you are planning six nights, price out a seventh: the extra room night may cost less than the fees it saves. Confirm the waiver applies to your rate before booking, because fees and policies can change.

If you’d rather avoid add-on fees altogether, compare our list of Orlando hotels with no resort fees.

Rooms: which room type fits your family

CoCo Key’s rooms are practical hotel rooms rather than condo-style suites, and the right choice depends as much on water park passes as on beds. These are the room types on the official site:

Room typeBedsSleepsSize (sq ft)Passes

King Standard or King Pool View1 king23264

Two Beds Tower2 beds + sofa53645

Family StandardTwo connecting Standard rooms8654Up to 8

Rooms come with a coffee and tea maker, mini fridge, laptop-size safe, hairdryer, iron and board, a 55-inch TV and free Wi-Fi, and most room types also list a microwave. The King Studio adds a kitchenette and bunk beds, and King Studios all face the water park. The King Tower, Two Beds Tower and Tower Suite are in the hotel’s Tower building. Accessible Two Queen and King rooms are available on request (the King Accessible is listed at 360 sq ft).

  • Family of 4: the Two Queen Standard sleeps four and includes four passes.
  • Family of 5: the Two Beds Tower or King Studio sleeps five and includes five passes.
  • Family of 6 to 8: no single room sleeps more than five, so book the Family Standard (two connecting rooms, up to eight passes).
  • Couples: the King Standard or King Pool View sleeps two.

For bigger groups, our guide to rooms that sleep 5 or 6 at Disney World and Universal compares other options.

Getting to Universal, Epic Universe, Disney and SeaWorld

CoCo Key is a Universal Partner Hotel: you get a lobby Vacation Planning Center for ticket purchases, redemptions and recommendations (plus a coupon book), and a free scheduled shuttle included in the resort fee. You don’t get the perks of Universal’s own hotels.

The Universal and Epic Universe shuttle

  • Free with the resort fee, runs on a schedule (not continuously), and seats are first come, first served.
  • Reserve in person at the lobby Vacation Planning Center, open 7 to 11 am daily, 24 hours before you ride.
  • Epic Universe has several morning departures and evening returns; confirm current times at the desk.
  • Not valid for Early Park Admission, special events or groups; one mobility aid is allowed per departure.
  • The partner hotel page also mentions transportation to SeaWorld and Aquatica, but the transportation page doesn’t list it, so ask at the desk.

The Disney shuttle (EPCOT only)

One daily run leaves from the front of the hotel on International Drive at 9:50 am for EPCOT and returns at 5:45 pm from Epcot Lane #35, at the time of writing. Be there 10 minutes early. Groups of 10 or more can’t use it, wheelchairs are accepted but motorized scooters are not, and ADA requests go to Platinum Transportation (407-492-8888) at least 24 hours ahead. For other Disney parks or times, plan on a car, taxi or rideshare.

Drive times assume normal traffic; I-Drive and I-4 can be much slower at rush hour. If you drive to the parks, you also pay theme park parking: Walt Disney World standard parking is $35 a day at the time of writing, and Universal charges for parking too, so check current rates.

Express, trolley and airport

A CoCo Key room doesn’t include Universal Express, and booking the room on its own doesn’t include Early Park Admission. Universal does give early entry to guests who book a Universal Orlando vacation package (hotel plus park tickets) at a participating partner hotel, so check your package terms. Either way, the hotel shuttle isn’t valid for early entry, so plan your own ride that morning. Express Unlimited is included only at Universal’s three Premier hotels (Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Portofino Bay and Loews Royal Pacific), and only at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, not Epic Universe. If those perks matter, compare the on-site options in our guide to hotels near Universal Orlando, or see hotels near Epic Universe if that park is your priority.

An I-Ride Trolley stop is directly in front of the hotel, and the hotel says the front desk offers free trolley passes; routes and the offer can change, so ask at check-in. There is no airport shuttle: the hotel suggests a taxi or an online car service to and from MCO.

Breakfast and dining

Breakfast is not included unless your booking says so. The Tradewinds Restaurant runs a hot breakfast buffet daily from 7 to 11 am, listed at $19.95 plus tax and gratuity at the time of writing, and one child under 12 eats free with each paying adult. Other outlets listed by the resort:

  • Callaloo Grill: burgers, chicken fingers, wraps and salads for lunch and dinner (the water park page calls it Callaloo Marketplace & Bar).
  • Starbucks: coffee from early morning.
  • Paco’s: a poolside food truck.
  • Aloha Scoops: ice cream.
  • Wet Rooster Bar: appetizers and tropical drinks.
  • Convenience store: snacks and basics.

Outlet names and hours differ slightly across the official site, so check the dining page. International Drive has many more restaurants nearby.

Other amenities: arcade, pools and kids’ activities

  • Splash Zone Arcade: a 6,500-square-foot game room, handy on stormy afternoons.
  • Pools: the resort lists multiple heated outdoor pools.
  • Kids’ activities: daily, covered by the resort fee.
  • Fitness center and business center: the business center is called the International Lounge.
  • Also on site: laundry, a gift shop, free Wi-Fi and meeting space.
  • Pets: not allowed, except certified service animals.

Best for and not ideal for

Best for

  • Budget-minded families doing Universal, Epic Universe or SeaWorld who want a short ride to the parks.
  • Kids who love slides and splash play, especially those tall enough for the 40- and 48-inch slides.
  • Stays of seven nights or more, when the resort fee and self-parking are waived at the time of writing.
  • Families who want pool afternoons between park days.

Not ideal for

  • Disney-only trips: the Disney shuttle is one daily run to EPCOT, and driving means Disney parking fees.
  • Toddlers under 36 inches, who are limited to the splash zones.
  • Groups of 5 or 6 hoping to share one standard room, which sleeps four with four passes.
  • Travelers who want a quiet hotel or an adults-only pool.

Tips for booking CoCo Key Orlando

  • Book by passes, not just beds: the pass count sets how many people swim without paying extra, and only two extra passes can be bought per room under the 2026 rules.
  • Price out a seventh night: the resort fee and self-parking waiver on 7+ night stays can make a longer stay better value.
  • Reserve the Universal shuttle the day before: in person at the lobby desk, 7 to 11 am.
  • Check the water park calendar: closing times vary, some dates are closed, and cold days can close it.
  • Swim on weekdays when you can: day passes are sold to the public, so weekends and holidays can be busier.

Frequently asked questions

Is the water park included at CoCo Key Orlando, and how many passes do you get?

Yes, but through the daily resort fee rather than the room rate, with a cap per room: four passes in most rooms, five in the King Studio and Two Beds Tower, and up to eight in the two-room Family Standard. Under the 2026 rules, up to two extra passes can be bought at check-in, and kids under 36 inches get in free. Check current terms before you book.

How much is the resort fee at CoCo Key Orlando?

The official site lists $45 plus tax per day at the time of writing. It covers the room’s water park passes, Wi-Fi, pool access, the fitness center, kids’ activities, the business center and the scheduled theme park shuttle. Self-parking is $15 a day plus tax, and valet $18. The resort fee and self-parking fee are waived on stays of seven nights or more; ask whether valet is included.

Can non-guests buy a CoCo Key Orlando water park day pass?

Yes. Day passes are sold to the public and must be bought online before you arrive, with prices that vary by date. Children under 36 inches get in free with a paying adult, and day visitors pay to park. Because outside guests can come in, the park can be busier on weekends and holidays.

Is the CoCo Key Orlando water park indoor, and is it open in winter?

It is outdoors, with about half of it under a canopy. The 2026 calendar shows an 11 am opening, closing times from 5 pm to midnight depending on the date, and a few dates closed. The park may close when it is below 59°F and whenever lightning is nearby, so check the calendar before a winter trip.

Does CoCo Key have a shuttle to Universal, Epic Universe or Disney World?

Yes. A free scheduled shuttle, included in the resort fee, runs to Universal Orlando and Epic Universe; reserve it in person at the lobby Vacation Planning Center (7 to 11 am) 24 hours ahead. For Disney, one daily run goes to EPCOT at 9:50 am and returns at 5:45 pm, at the time of writing. The shuttle is not valid for Early Park Admission.

Can you use the CoCo Key water park on check-out day?

The official site doesn’t publish a departure-day policy. Room pages describe the included passes as valid for your entire stay, but that doesn’t confirm use after the 11 am check-out. Ask the front desk when you check in, especially if you hope to fit in a last swim before a late flight.
