The best romantic hotels in Orlando are the quiet luxury resorts and small boutique hotels that give couples what the theme parks can’t: an adults-only pool, a real spa, a dinner worth dressing up for and a room with a view. Orlando is built for families, so the trick is knowing which hotels set aside grown-up space.

Orlando has almost no mainstream adults-only hotels. What it does have is a handful of resorts with adults-only pools, spa pools and lounges, plus a few hotels that require the person checking in to be 21. This guide covers eight stays across Walt Disney World, Universal, Grande Lakes, ChampionsGate, Winter Park and Lake Nona.

Fees, age rules and shuttle details below come from official pages at the time of writing. Confirm them before you book.

Quick answer: For the most complete couples’ resort near Disney, book Four Seasons Resort Orlando (21+ Oasis pool, rooftop Capa, couples’ spa suites). For a spa-centered stay, pick The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes. If you want Disney’s own romantic classic, it’s Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and dinner at Victoria & Albert’s. Universal couples should choose Loews Portofino Bay Hotel. To skip the parks entirely, stay at The Alfond Inn in Winter Park.

How we chose these hotels

We looked for grown-up features we could confirm on official pages rather than “romantic” marketing copy: an adults-only pool or spa pool, couples’ treatment rooms, a destination restaurant or bar, and rooms with balconies or views. We also weighed location, park access and the mandatory fees and parking costs that change the real price. We have not stayed at these hotels, and we don’t use invented ratings or scores.

1. Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort

Four Seasons Resort Orlando tower above a palm-fringed pool, lawn loungers and a shaded daybed

Four Seasons is the closest thing Orlando has to a full couples’ resort that still puts Disney on your doorstep. It sits inside the gates of Walt Disney World in Golden Oak, Disney’s private residential community, and its grown-up spaces are specific: Oasis, an adults-only pool for guests 21 and older with an infinity-edge view, underwater music, a whirlpool and private cabanas, plus Epilogue, a small adults-only speakeasy with a library theme and custom cocktails.

Dinner is the other draw. Capa, the Michelin-recommended steakhouse on the 17th floor, has outdoor terraces with views of the nightly Disney fireworks. The Spa has 18 treatment rooms and four couples’ suites, and any treatment of 50 minutes or longer includes access to Oasis. Park-View rooms and suites come with furnished balconies that face the fireworks in the distance, and the resort says it can arrange romance and honeymoon touches such as champagne, spa credits and late check-out. Our full Four Seasons Resort Orlando guide covers rooms and Disney perks in detail.

  • Why stay: It’s the only hotel on this list with a 21+ pool, an adults-only bar and Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry under one roof.
  • Getting to the parks: Free scheduled motor coaches run about once an hour to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom at the time of writing, and guests get Disney’s 30-minute Early Theme Park Entry every day.
  • Good to know: It’s also a big family resort, with a private 5-acre water park and a free kids’ camp, so the calm lives in the adult zones. The resort’s January 2026 map lists a mandatory resort fee of $55 per room per night, plus tax, though Booking.com’s price breakdown showed US$60 plus tax in October 2026. Parking is valet only, for a fee. Check both current amounts before you book.

Best for: Couples who want top-tier luxury, a true 21+ pool and easy Disney days.

2. The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes

Poolside cabana with cushioned seating, a TV and white loungers at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes

The Ritz-Carlton shares a 500-plus-acre estate with the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes, but the part that matters most for couples is The Ritz-Carlton Spa: 40,000 square feet, 40 treatment rooms and a full salon, with an adults-only (18 and older), heated outdoor lap pool. You get into that pool with a spa treatment or a Spa Day Pass, and you can reserve a private cabana there and have lunch from Vitale, the spa café, brought to you.

Knife & Spoon, led by chef John Tesar, holds a MICHELIN Recommendation and Forbes Travel Guide Four Stars, and Primo at the JW Marriott next door, from chef Melissa Kelly, is also MICHELIN-Recommended. Highball & Harvest cooks with produce from the estate’s own Whisper Creek Farm. Standard Ritz-Carlton rooms run about 480 square feet, with private balconies and marble baths that have separate tubs, and the resort offers add-ons such as rose petals, champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries.

  • Why stay: A 40,000-square-foot spa with its own adults-only pool, two Michelin-recommended restaurants on the estate, and lakes, trails and golf without leaving the property.
  • Getting to the parks: The resort lists Epic Universe and SeaWorld about 3 miles away, Universal Studios about 8 and Walt Disney World about 9. At the time of writing, shuttles to Universal and Epic Universe, SeaWorld, Magic Kingdom and EPCOT are part of the resort fee but need a 24-hour advance reservation.
  • Good to know: At the time of writing, the resort fee is $55 plus tax per night and valet parking is $58 plus tax per day; self-parking is only offered at the JW Marriott, at $42 plus tax. The JW side has a lazy river and waterslides, so expect families around the main pools.

Best for: Spa-first trips, anniversaries and couples who want Epic Universe or SeaWorld close by.

3. Waldorf Astoria Orlando

Waldorf Astoria Orlando pool lined with palms and loungers, with the golf course and lake beyond

Waldorf Astoria Orlando sits in Bonnet Creek, surrounded by Walt Disney World property, and it is one of the quieter luxury hotels in the Disney area. Its minimum booking age is 21, which applies to the person booking, not to children, but signals a more grown-up hotel. The Rees Jones-designed golf course winds through the Bonnet Creek nature preserve, and the resort’s two pools include a cabana pool suited to laps, plus a Jacuzzi.

Bull & Bear is the date-night anchor: a steakhouse known for tableside preparation, a team of sommeliers and a Chateaubriand for two, with a dress code that rules out shorts, hats, flip-flops and athletic wear. Peacock Alley is the bar for a drink before or after. Waldorf Astoria Spa uses Tupelo honey in its signature treatments, has a Himalayan salt room and offers a Sand & Sea treatment for couples. Read more in our Waldorf Astoria Orlando guide.

  • Why stay: Polished, quieter luxury with Disney perks and one of Orlando’s best-known steakhouses.
  • Getting to the parks: Shuttles to the four Disney theme parks and Disney Springs, covered by the daily resort charge (schedules vary by day), plus Disney’s 30-minute Early Theme Park Entry. Lightning Lane purchases open three days before your visit, the standard off-site window.
  • Good to know: At the time of writing, the daily resort charge is $50 plus tax and valet parking is $60 per day plus tax. There is no adults-only pool, and Waldorf guests can also use the family pool and lazy river at Signia by Hilton next door.

Best for: Golfers and couples who want a calm, classic base for a few Disney days.

4. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

If you want the romance of a Disney resort itself, the Grand Floridian is the classic choice: a Victorian-style flagship on the Seven Seas Lagoon, one monorail stop from Magic Kingdom, where you can watch the fireworks over Cinderella Castle from the resort. Disney also sells in-room celebration surprises, such as flowers and gifts, if you’re marking an occasion.

Its signature is Victoria & Albert’s, the most formal restaurant at Walt Disney World. Disney says it has held a MICHELIN star since 2024 and the AAA Five Diamond Award every year since 2000. The tasting menu started at $295 per guest, before tax and tip, at the time of writing, a harpist plays live, semi-formal or formal dress is expected, and only guests 10 and older can dine there. For easier nights, Narcoossee’s and the Enchanted Rose lounge are on site, along with a full-service spa. If you’re weighing the price, see whether a Disney resort is worth it.

  • Why stay: Monorail access, Disney’s top restaurant and the full set of Disney Resort hotel perks.
  • Getting to the parks: Free monorail to Magic Kingdom (and to EPCOT with one transfer), water taxis across the lagoon and Disney buses elsewhere. You get Early Theme Park Entry, the 7-day Lightning Lane purchase window and, as a Deluxe resort guest, Extended Evening Hours on select nights.
  • Good to know: Disney says renovation work continues in select areas, including the porte cochère, into early 2027. It is also hugely popular with families. Disney-owned resorts aren’t sold on Booking.com, so you book directly with Disney.

Best for: Disney-loving couples, proposals and milestone dinners.

5. Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando

Colorful Italian-style harbor facades and moored boats reflected in the bay at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel

Portofino Bay recreates an Italian seaside village around a harbor, with cobblestone streets, Italian cypress trees and a piazza, and it is the most romantic of Universal’s hotels. Every evening at sunset, weather permitting, Musica della Notte fills the Harbor Piazza with classic opera, romantic songs and “popera.” Bice Ristorante looks out over the bay, and the quarterly Harbor Nights event adds wine tastings and live jazz.

For quiet, head to the Hillside Pool on the east side, which the hotel describes as more private. The Villa Pool has cabana rentals and upgraded loungers, while the Beach Pool, with its aqueduct-themed waterslide, is where families gather. One caveat: the hotel’s Mandara Spa closed in November 2024, so don’t plan a spa day here. Our Loews Portofino Bay Hotel guide has room and transport details.

  • Why stay: The most atmospheric hotel at Universal, plus Universal’s most valuable hotel perk.
  • Getting to the parks: Free Universal Express Unlimited at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure (not Epic Universe or Volcano Bay), Early Park Admission that now includes Epic Universe, and free water taxis and shuttle buses to the parks.
  • Good to know: No resort fee is listed, but overnight self-parking was $36 plus tax per night at the time of writing. If you’ll do two Universal park days, Express can be worth more than the rate gap; compare the options in our guide to Universal hotels with Express Pass.

Best for: Couples whose trip is built around Universal.

6. Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate

Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate main entrance and tower framed by palm trees and gardens

Omni ChampionsGate is a large golf resort on about 800 acres, and it has one of the few verified adults-only pools in the Orlando area. The former Formal Pool is now an adults-only pool for guests 18 and older, and its eight private cabanas and Jacuzzi are reserved for adults too. Next to it is the 10,000-square-foot Mokara Spa, which offers couples’ massages.

The rest of the resort is lively and family-oriented, with a wave pool, an 850-foot lazy river and waterslides, so the adults-only pool is what makes it work for couples. Two championship golf courses and a “Good Night’s Rest” policy, which limits guest-room elevators to registered guests after 10:30 p.m., round it out.

  • Why stay: A confirmed adults-only pool with cabanas, plus a full spa and serious golf.
  • Getting to the parks: The resort lists Walt Disney World 12 miles away and Universal 21 miles. Scheduled shuttles to EPCOT and Magic Kingdom’s Transportation and Ticket Center (six departures and four to five returns a day at the time of writing) are covered by the resort charge but must be reserved.
  • Good to know: At the time of writing, the resort service charge is $48 plus tax per room per night, and the resort lists overnight parking at $38 for self-parking and $50 for valet. The minimum check-in age is 18.

Best for: Couples who golf, or who want resort days with a separate adults’ pool.

7. The Alfond Inn

The Alfond Inn in Winter Park at sunset, with its domed entrance tower and brick street

If your trip is about each other rather than the parks, Winter Park makes a lovely base, and The Alfond Inn is its boutique standout. The 183-room hotel opened in 2013 just off Park Avenue, and it doubles as a gallery: works from the Alfond Collection of Contemporary Art, part of the Rollins Museum of Art’s collection, are installed throughout. The minimum check-in age is 21.

The Spa at The Alfond Inn offers couples’ massages and a private spa pool for spa guests 18 and over, with shaded cabanas you can reserve. Hotel guests also get a rooftop pool and bar with a sundeck. Hamilton’s Kitchen serves modern Southern food, and the restaurant says it helps fund Rollins College scholarships. Signature Suites add a Jacuzzi tub and a balcony overlooking Winter Park, and the hotel’s Romance in the Park package pairs a bottle of Prosecco with dinner for two at Hamilton’s Kitchen.

  • Why stay: Walkable charm, with Park Avenue’s shops, cafés and museums outside the door, plus a real spa and an art collection inside.
  • Getting to the parks: This isn’t a park hotel, so plan on a car or rideshare; the hotel lists Orlando International Airport about 18 miles away, roughly 30 to 35 minutes.
  • Good to know: At the time of writing, the resort fee is $27 plus tax per night (it covers rooftop pool and bar access), and parking is valet only, from $37 per day plus tax.

Best for: Anniversaries and weekend escapes with no theme parks on the plan.

8. Lake Nona Wave Hotel

Lake Nona Wave Hotel rooftop pool with colorful curtained cabanas and sculpted palm-tree lights

Lake Nona Wave Hotel is the modern, design-led pick: a tech-heavy tower in the Lake Nona community, about eight miles from Orlando International Airport, with art throughout and app-based check-in and keyless entry. The person checking in must be 21 or older, although children can stay with their parents. The colorful rooftop Wave Pool is open from dawn to dusk and has private cabanas with curtains you can close.

Rooms have private balconies, and select suites add soaking tubs and city views. The hotel promotes itself as a One MICHELIN Key hotel with MICHELIN-recommended dining, including its signature restaurant, Bacán, plus Garni Café and The Nectar Room. Guests also get complimentary access to the Lake Nona Performance Club wellness center next door.

  • Why stay: A stylish, grown-up city-style stay with a rooftop pool and serious food, handy for a first or last night near the airport.
  • Getting to the parks: It’s far from the theme parks, so plan to drive. Lake Nona’s Beep shuttles cover local trips only.
  • Good to know: Valet parking costs extra, and self-parking is in the adjacent Wave public garage. The hotel also sells stay-and-cruise packages to Port Canaveral. Check the full price with fees when you book.

Best for: Food- and design-minded couples, airport nights and pre-cruise stays.

How to choose a romantic hotel in Orlando

  • Decide how much theme park you want. If you’ll be in the parks most days, stay where the transport is easy: Four Seasons or the Grand Floridian for Disney, Portofino Bay for Universal. For one or two park days, the Ritz-Carlton or the Waldorf works well. For none, go to Winter Park or Lake Nona.
  • Read the age rules closely. An adults-only pool (Four Seasons at 21+, Omni at 18+) is a space kids can’t enter. A spa pool (Ritz-Carlton, Alfond Inn) is for guests 18 and over and needs a spa treatment, or a Spa Day Pass at the Ritz-Carlton. A minimum booking or check-in age of 21 (Waldorf, Portofino Bay, Alfond Inn, Lake Nona Wave) only applies to the person registering, so families can still stay.
  • Budget for fees, not just the rate. On this list, resort fees run from none to $55 a night and parking from free to $60 a day, before tax, at the time of writing. Our guide to the best luxury resorts in Orlando compares more high-end options.
  • Pick your dates around school breaks. Even the calmest resort feels busier during spring break and summer. Check the best time to visit Orlando for quieter months.
  • Book the special dinner early. Victoria & Albert’s needs advance reservations and charges $100 per person for cancellations less than five days ahead (the full price within 24 hours). Capa fills up on fireworks nights, and its terraces depend on Disney’s show schedule.
  • What about Grand Cypress? Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is often suggested for its lake and golf, but Hyatt markets it as a family resort, and we couldn’t confirm an adults-only pool on its official pages.

Frequently asked questions

Are there any adults-only hotels in Orlando?

Among mainstream hotels, essentially none. Instead, look for adults-only areas: Four Seasons has a 21+ pool and an adults-only speakeasy, Omni ChampionsGate has an 18+ pool, and the Ritz-Carlton and The Alfond Inn have adults-only spa pools. The Alfond Inn and Lake Nona Wave require you to be 21 to check in, but that rule doesn’t keep children out.

Which Orlando hotels have an adults-only pool?

At the time of writing, Four Seasons Resort Orlando’s Oasis pool is for guests 21 and older, and Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate‘s adults-only pool has a minimum age of 18. The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes has an adults-only heated lap pool at its spa, open with a treatment or Spa Day Pass, and The Alfond Inn’s spa pool is for spa guests 18 and over.

What is the most romantic hotel at Walt Disney World?

Among Disney-owned resorts, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is the classic pick, thanks to its monorail location, fireworks views and Victoria & Albert’s. If you don’t need a Disney-owned hotel, Four Seasons Resort Orlando, inside Walt Disney World, offers more adult space, with its 21+ Oasis pool, couples’ spa suites and the rooftop Capa with fireworks views.

Where should couples stay for Universal Orlando?

Loews Portofino Bay Hotel is the most romantic on-site choice, with its harbor setting, nightly Musica della Notte and free Universal Express Unlimited at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. If you want a spa as well, The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes lists Epic Universe about 3 miles away and runs reservable shuttles to Universal.

Can you see the Disney fireworks from your hotel room?

From some rooms, yes. Four Seasons sells Park-View rooms and suites with balconies facing the fireworks in the distance, and its Capa restaurant has outdoor terraces for watching them. Disney says you can see the Magic Kingdom fireworks over Cinderella Castle from the Grand Floridian. Showtimes change and can be canceled in bad weather, so check the schedule before you plan the evening.

Does a minimum check-in age of 21 mean no kids?

No. A minimum check-in or booking age only requires the person registering for the room to be 21 or older. At the Waldorf Astoria, Portofino Bay, The Alfond Inn and Lake Nona Wave, children can still stay with their parents. If you want a space with no kids at all, look for a true adults-only pool or a spa pool instead.
