Hyatt Regency Orlando is a 1,641-room resort on International Drive with a direct pedestrian-bridge link to the Orange County Convention Center, a heated Grotto Pool with a 100-foot waterslide, and Universal Partner Hotel services that include scheduled theme park transport. It works for convention trips and for families who want a big pool and a central I-Drive base, but it isn’t cheap once you add the resort fee and parking.

Fees and policies below come from the hotel’s official pages (archived capture from August 30, 2026); confirm them before you book. Note that this is not the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress near Disney Springs or the Hyatt Regency at Orlando International Airport.

Quick answer: Book Hyatt Regency Orlando if you are attending an event at the convention center or want a full-service I-Drive resort about 4 miles by road from Universal and about 3 miles from SeaWorld. Expect a daily resort fee of $48 (subject to change, plus any applicable tax) and paid parking ($45 self, $56 valet at last check). If you mainly visit Disney World, a hotel closer to Lake Buena Vista will save you drive time.

Location and distances

The hotel stands on the southern stretch of International Drive, the convention and resort corridor south of the Sand Lake Road shopping district. The Orange County Convention Center is right next door, Pointe Orlando’s restaurants and bars are a short walk north, and ICON Park is about 1.3 miles away by road. If you want to compare this area with Lake Buena Vista, Kissimmee or Universal, our guide to the best areas to stay in Orlando lays out the trade-offs.

Road distances below come from OSRM route calculations to each park’s main parking area; add a buffer for rush-hour traffic.

Connection to the Orange County Convention Center

This is the hotel’s biggest advantage for business travelers. According to the convention center, the International Drive Pedestrian Bridge links Hyatt Regency Orlando with the West building near West Hall C (Level 2), and the Oversight Pedestrian Bridge connects the North-South building to the hotel and the West building. In practice, you can walk to most halls without crossing I-Drive at street level.

The hotel also has a large meeting complex of its own, with about 315,000 square feet of event space, so expect conference crowds in the lobby and restaurants during big shows. For other connected and walkable options, see our guide to hotels near the Orange County Convention Center.

Rooms and suites at Hyatt Regency Orlando

Standard rooms come with two queen beds or one king, and you can choose upgrades such as pool view, balcony, larger king rooms and Regency Club access. The hotel describes its restyled rooms as having Hyatt Euro Pillowtop beds, sleeper sofas, marble-accented bathrooms, minifridges and 65-inch streaming TVs. Connecting rooms are listed, which is handy for larger families.

Suites include studio suites (one king or two queens), a one-bedroom suite, a penthouse and a presidential suite. The Family Suite with two queen beds is the one to look at if you have more than four people: the hotel says it can sleep up to six. Accessible rooms are offered with accessible showers or tubs in both queen and king layouts.

For five or six people, compare the Family Suite with two connecting rooms.

Pools and recreation

The Grotto Pool is the centerpiece. The hotel’s description on SeaWorld’s partner page calls it a 10,000-square-foot, heated, zero-entry pool with cascading waterfalls, a 100-foot-long waterslide, a children’s splash pool, a hot tub and private cabanas.

The second pool, the Terrace Pool, is described as nearly Olympic size and sits above International Drive. It is the better option for laps or a quieter afternoon. The hotel also lists daily poolside activities, ping-pong and foosball.

Full-day cabana rentals include lounge seating, a TV, a small refrigerator and shade. Indoors, Descend 21 has Topgolf Swing Suites, pool tables and electric darts. There is no lazy river or water park; if those matter, compare our list of hotels near SeaWorld Orlando, which includes resorts with larger water areas.

Dining and breakfast

The hotel doesn’t list breakfast as included in standard rates. Your options are B-Line Diner, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner from an exhibition kitchen, and the Market, a 24-hour grab-and-go shop with breakfast items, pastries, sandwiches, salads, pizza, sushi and Starbucks coffee. Both offer to-go menus, and in-room or poolside delivery can be ordered by phone or through the Hyatt app.

For dinner, Fiorenzo Italian Steakhouse in the Atrium is the formal choice, with a brick oven and seasonal menus. ICHARO, which the hotel bills as Orlando’s newest sushi spot, serves Japanese dishes such as nigiri, sashimi, rolls and sake. Descend 21 is a lively bar-restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the Grotto Pool; note that it accepts non-cash payments only. Rocks is the lobby bar, and Coconuts Poolside Bar & Grill serves salads, sandwiches and cocktails by the pool.

Parking, resort fee and other charges

Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book; budget for these extras on top.

ChargeAmount at last checkNotes
Resort fee$48 per room, per nightSubject to change; ask about tax
Self-parking$45Confirm if per night
Valet parking$56Confirm if per night
Pets$150 per stayUp to six nights; max. two pets

The hotel says the resort fee covers services and amenities, explicitly including the fitness center’s studios and classes such as indoor cycling; ask for the full list at check-in. Orange County adds 12.5% hotel tax to the room rate.

Pets are limited to 50 pounds each and 75 pounds combined, and you must tell the hotel at least three days before arrival. Check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out at 11 a.m.

Transport to the parks

Hyatt Regency Orlando is a Universal Partner Hotel, with a Universal Vacation Planning Center in the lobby where you can buy and pick up tickets. The hotel’s homepage says scheduled transport runs to the Universal Orlando theme parks, SeaWorld and Aquatica based on regular park hours; its Universal page calls the service complimentary but mentions only the Universal parks, with pickup at the convention center entrance. It doesn’t run continuously, seats are first come, first served, and you reserve in person at the planning center from one day ahead up to 30 minutes before departure. It isn’t valid for special events, groups or Early Park Admission.

SeaWorld lists the hotel as a vacation-package partner, but its partner page mentions no SeaWorld shuttle, so confirm SeaWorld and Aquatica trips at the planning center.

As a partner rather than an on-site Universal hotel, don’t count on on-site perks such as Early Park Admission or included Express passes. Our guide to hotels near Universal Studios Orlando compares the on-site options if those perks matter to you.

For Disney World, plan on driving or using a rideshare. The hotel’s official pages don’t mention a Disney shuttle, and it isn’t on Disney’s list of hotels eligible for Early Theme Park Entry. Standard theme park parking at Disney costs $35 per day, and Universal’s general parking is also $35 at the time of writing.

Without a car, the I-RIDE Trolley has stops in front of the convention center’s West and North-South buildings, and LYNX buses connect the convention center with the airport and downtown Orlando.

Spa, fitness and other amenities

The spa offers massage, facials, hair and nail services and is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the time of writing; book ahead on weekends and during conventions.

The StayFit fitness center is open 24/7 and has separate strength, cardio and core areas plus studios for exercise classes and indoor cycling. The hotel also lists free internet access, EV charging, laundry, a Regency Club lounge for guests in club-level rooms, digital check-in and digital keys.

No kids club is listed on the official site.

Who Hyatt Regency Orlando suits

It suits convention attendees above all, thanks to the bridges. It also works for families splitting their days between Universal, Epic Universe and SeaWorld who want a proper pool and several places to eat on site. World of Hyatt members get a large full-service Hyatt in a central location.

It is a weaker fit for Disney-focused trips, lazy-river fans and tight budgets. For a wider set of options along the corridor, see our list of the best hotels on International Drive.

  • Universal Vacation Planning Center in the lobby and scheduled transport to the Universal parks.
  • A 24-hour market and several restaurants, so you can eat without driving.

Limitations to know

  • $48 nightly resort fee, and paid parking ($45 self, $56 valet at last check).
  • Park transport is scheduled, limited and reserved in person; it isn’t a frequent shuttle.
  • No Disney shuttle mentioned and no Early Theme Park Entry at Disney.
  • Breakfast is not included.
  • With 1,641 rooms and a busy convention calendar, lobbies, elevators and restaurants can get crowded.
  • No lazy river or water park.

What to check before you book

  • Convention dates: look at the convention center’s event calendar; large shows can raise rates and fill the hotel.
  • Total cost: add the $48 nightly resort fee, taxes and parking ($45–$56 at last check) to compare fairly with hotels that have free parking.
  • Room type for your party: for five or six people, book the Family Suite or confirm connecting rooms in writing.
  • Park transport schedule: ask the Universal Vacation Planning Center for current times, whether SeaWorld trips run and whether there is any charge.
  • Pool status: ask whether the waterslide or either pool has scheduled maintenance during your dates.

Frequently asked questions

Is Hyatt Regency Orlando connected to the convention center?

Yes. According to the Orange County Convention Center, the International Drive Pedestrian Bridge links the hotel to the West building near West Hall C on Level 2, and the Oversight Pedestrian Bridge connects the North-South building to the hotel and the West building. You can walk to your sessions without crossing I-Drive at street level, which is the main reason convention attendees choose it.

Does Hyatt Regency Orlando have a shuttle to Universal?

It has scheduled transport, not a continuous shuttle. As a Universal Partner Hotel, it runs trips to the Universal Orlando theme parks based on regular park hours, and its homepage also lists SeaWorld and Aquatica. Seats are limited, and reservations must be made in person at the lobby’s Universal Vacation Planning Center from one day ahead. It doesn’t serve Early Park Admission or special events, so confirm times at check-in.

How much is the resort fee at Hyatt Regency Orlando?

At last check, the hotel listed a daily resort fee of $48 per room, subject to change; ask whether tax is added on top. The hotel says it covers services and amenities, including the fitness center’s studios and classes such as indoor cycling. Ask the front desk for the current list of inclusions, and factor the fee into every night when you compare hotels.

How much is parking at Hyatt Regency Orlando?

The hotel listed self-parking at $45 and valet parking at $56 at the time of writing; confirm whether that is charged per night. Those charges are separate from the resort fee. If you’re driving to the parks every day, remember that Disney and Universal also charge for theme park parking, about $35 per day for standard parking at each. Check whether a current hotel package includes parking.

Is Hyatt Regency Orlando good for families?

Yes, especially for Universal and SeaWorld trips. The heated, zero-entry Grotto Pool has a 100-foot waterslide and a children’s splash pool, the Family Suite sleeps up to six, and a 24-hour market makes quick breakfasts easy. The downsides for families are the resort fee, paid parking, the lack of a lazy river and the convention crowds on some dates.

How far is Hyatt Regency Orlando from Disney World?

By road, the hotel is about 7.5 miles from Disney Springs, about 12 miles from EPCOT’s parking lot and around 13 miles from the Magic Kingdom parking area. Without traffic, most drives take 15 to 30 minutes. The hotel’s official pages don’t mention a Disney shuttle, and it isn’t eligible for Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry, so plan on driving or a rideshare.

Bottom line

Hyatt Regency Orlando is one of the most practical hotels for the convention center, and its Grotto Pool, Family Suite and Universal partner services make it a solid I-Drive base for Universal, Epic Universe and SeaWorld. Add the resort fee and parking to the room rate before you compare, and choose a hotel closer to Disney if those parks are your main plan.
