The best hotels near Universal with free shuttle service are off-site hotels whose own pages, checked in October 2026, promise a complimentary bus to Universal Orlando: a few publish real timetables with separate Epic Universe runs, while most only tell you to reserve a seat at the lobby desk. This guide ranks 12 of them by how clear and useful that shuttle is, with sample times, booking rules, Epic Universe service, fees and parking.

One thing to know up front: an off-site shuttle is not the same as staying at Universal. Universal’s own hotels run frequent buses (and boats or walking paths at some) and include Early Park Admission, while the hotels below run fixed departures you book in person. If you would rather walk, see our guide to hotels within walking distance of Universal Orlando.

Quick answer: For the clearest free shuttle with no resort fee, book Rosen Inn Closest to Universal: it publishes four morning departures to the original parks and four to Epic Universe, and parking is $10 a night, capped at $50 a stay. For free breakfast and free parking as well, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Nearest Universal and Drury Inn & Suites near Universal both say their free shuttles cover all of Universal’s parks, Epic Universe included. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.

How we chose these hotels near Universal with free shuttle

  • A free shuttle in writing: each hotel’s current page (or a dated archived copy where Hilton, Marriott and Hyatt block direct checks) calls its Universal transport free or complimentary. Where a mandatory resort fee applies to the stay, we say so.
  • Epic Universe stated exactly: we report whether the hotel names Epic Universe, runs a separate Epic route, or says something that conflicts.
  • Times and rules: we quote published timetables and booking rules; where none are published, we say so.
  • Location: road distances are our own OSRM routes to Universal’s garage toll plaza and Epic Universe’s parking toll plaza, in both directions, rounded.
  • Fees and parking: from each hotel’s own pages, or Booking.com’s price breakdown for a sample stay where that was the only source. There are no scores or rankings by reviews.

What a Universal Partner Hotel gets (and doesn’t)

Most hotels on this list call themselves Universal Partner Hotels. Universal’s vacation-package site describes the program this way: some of its preferred partner hotels offer “Bonus Benefits,” namely discounts on merchandise at select theme park locations, discounts on food and non-alcoholic drinks at select CityWalk and park locations, and scheduled transportation to the Universal Orlando theme parks. It adds that participating hotels and benefits can change without notice. Several hotels (Drury, Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton Orlando) add that partners were “chosen based on quality, reputation and proximity” to the resort, and most have a Universal Vacation Planning Center or desk in the lobby that sells tickets and books the shuttle.

What partner status does not include:

  • Early Park Admission: Universal’s page offers it to Universal Orlando hotel guests “and other selected groups,” with valid park admission, at select attractions. A room-only booking at a partner hotel, including through Booking.com, doesn’t come with it, and Rosen Inn Closest to Universal and Rosen Shingle Creek say their buses aren’t valid for Early Park Admission. Our Universal Early Park Admission guide explains who qualifies.
  • Universal Express: Universal’s hotel benefits page lists free Express Unlimited only at three of its own hotels.
  • Frequent buses: Universal’s hotel FAQ says complimentary transportation to all four parks and CityWalk is provided at all of its own hotels, with buses every 15 or 30 minutes depending on the hotel, starting an hour before Early Park Admission. Off-site shuttles run a handful of fixed departures.

If those perks matter, compare these hotels with Universal’s own lower-priced options in our guide to the cheapest Universal Orlando hotels, or with every budget level in our best hotels near Universal Studios Orlando hub.

1. Rosen Inn Closest to Universal

This budget inn at 6327 International Drive, about 1.5 road miles from Universal’s garage toll plaza (about 2.4 on the way back) and about 3.7 miles from Epic Universe’s lot, publishes the most complete free timetable we found. Its hotel-information page lists departures to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, CityWalk and Volcano Bay at 7:05, 8:15, 9:25 and 10:35 a.m., and a separate Epic Universe route at 7:15, 8:35 and 9:55 a.m. plus a last run the page prints as “11:15 p.m.” (almost certainly a morning bus, so ask). Buses return from the original parks at 5:15, 6:20, 7:25 and 8:30 p.m. and from Epic at 5:25, 6:40, 7:55 and 9:10 p.m.

The same page covers SeaWorld and Aquatica too, but only through a transfer: one connector leaves Universal (stall 14) at 10:05 a.m., with returns from Aquatica at 7:30 p.m. and SeaWorld at 7:35 p.m. Our comparison of all four Rosen Inns covers rooms, pools and the dining program.

  • Why stay: a published free schedule with separate Epic Universe runs, plus low, capped parking.
  • Getting there / to the parks: reservations are required and made in person at the Universal Partner Hotel Vacation Planning Center in the lobby from 24 hours before departure (the FAQ adds up to 30 minutes before); seats are limited and first come, first served. The page says the shuttle doesn’t run continuously and isn’t valid for special events, groups or Early Park Admission.
  • Good to know: parking is $10 a night per vehicle, tax included, capped at five nights ($50) per vehicle. Rosen’s FAQ says Disney shuttles cost “a nominal fee” and points airport travelers to rideshare. Breakfast isn’t part of standard rates.

Best for: budget travelers without a car who want to plan around real departure times.

2. Holiday Inn Express & Suites Nearest Universal Orlando

On Major Boulevard, about 1.2 to 1.7 road miles from the garages and about 4.6 to 4.7 from Epic Universe, this 184-room hotel bundles the extras many budget travelers want. IHG’s pages, checked in October 2026, promise “no surprise resort fees” and describe “a scheduled shuttle service run through Universal,” with complimentary scheduled service to Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld and advance registration required at the Universal desk. The hotel’s welcome text says every Universal park is covered, Volcano Bay and Epic Universe included.

It doesn’t publish departure times, so ask at check-in for the morning runs, the evening returns and where the Epic bus stops. Our Holiday Inn Express Nearest Universal review has the room types, pet rules and occupancy details.

  • Why stay: free hot breakfast (6 to 9:30 a.m. per IHG), free parking and a free shuttle that names Epic Universe.
  • Getting there / to the parks: register in advance for seats at the hotel’s Universal kiosk; times aren’t online.
  • Good to know: self-parking is complimentary in an outdoor lot; there’s no restaurant on site and no airport shuttle. Check-in age is 18 per IHG.

Best for: families who want breakfast, parking and a Universal and Epic shuttle with no resort fee.

3. Drury Inn & Suites near Universal Orlando Resort

Drury’s hotel on Sand Lake Road, by Restaurant Row, is about 2.3 road miles from Universal’s garages and about 3.8 from Epic Universe’s lot. Its own page (checked October 2026) says it “offers a free, scheduled shuttle to Universal Orlando Resort,” and a hotel announcement adds “free shuttle service to all Universal Orlando Resort’s theme parks, including the new Epic Universe,” reserved at the Universal Ticket Center in the lobby.

The value is in the extras: Drury lists a free hot breakfast, the free 5:30 Kickback with hot food and drinks from 5:30 to 7 p.m., free Wi-Fi and free parking during your stay. Our Drury Inn & Suites near Universal review covers rooms, suites and the pool.

  • Why stay: two free meals a day plus a free shuttle that explicitly includes Epic Universe.
  • Getting there / to the parks: reserve at the lobby Universal Ticket Center; Drury doesn’t publish times online, so ask about the first morning bus and the last return.
  • Good to know: parking is free during your stay and no resort fee is listed; check-in is 3 p.m. and check-out 11 a.m. Drury lists Bonus Benefits discounts with a coupon book from the planning center.

Best for: families who will use breakfast and the evening Kickback, and who don’t need to walk to the parks.

4. Four Points by Sheraton Orlando International Drive

The round tower at 5905 International Drive is about 1.3 to 1.7 road miles from the garages and about 3.2 to 3.3 from Epic Universe. Marriott’s live page lists a “Complimentary Theme Park Shuttle,” reserved at the theme park desk in the lobby, with departures at 7:55, 9:10, 10:25 and 11:40 a.m. and returns at 5:20, 6:40 and 8 p.m. That is one of the few published partner schedules on I-Drive.

The shuttle note doesn’t say which parks each run serves. The same page markets “easy access to all 4 Universal parks,” but that isn’t a shuttle promise, so ask whether a departure goes to Epic Universe on your dates. Universal’s vacation site lists this hotel among its partner hotels with the Bonus Benefits symbol. Our Marriott hotels near Universal guide has its room sizes.

  • Why stay: published free shuttle times and high-floor rooms, some with attraction views.
  • Getting there / to the parks: reservations required at the lobby theme park desk; Booking.com’s listing mentions a Universal Orlando Resort Partner desk in the hotel.
  • Good to know: Marriott listed parking at $20 at our last check (June 2026 capture); the heated pool and children’s splash pad are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. per Marriott. Breakfast isn’t included on every rate.

Best for: couples and small families who want set times and a short drive if they miss the bus.

5. Rosen Shingle Creek

Rosen’s 1,501-room golf resort on Universal Boulevard is farther from the original parks (about 4.7 to 5 road miles to the garages) but only about 1.7 miles from Epic Universe. Its location and transportation page, checked in October 2026, lists complimentary scheduled transport with departures to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, CityWalk and Volcano Bay at 7:35, 9:05 and 11:25 a.m., and to Epic Universe at 8:15 and 9:45 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. Returns run from the original parks at 5, 6:35, 8 and 9:35 p.m. and from Epic at 5:25, 6:40, 7:55 and 9:10 p.m.

Reservations are required in person at the Universal Vacation Planning Desk, and the page says the service isn’t valid for groups, special events or Early Park Admission. Our Rosen Shingle Creek guide covers pools, dining and golf.

  • Why stay: a full resort with a published Universal timetable and separate Epic runs.
  • Getting there / to the parks: SeaWorld trips change buses at Universal for a single 10:05 a.m. connector; Disney transport to EPCOT and Magic Kingdom is sold by Fabulous Buses for a fee.
  • Good to know: the fact sheet says “there is never a resort fee”; self-parking is $36 and valet $48 a day, plus tax.

Best for: Epic Universe-focused trips where you also want a pool complex and restaurants on site.

6. Hilton Garden Inn Orlando International Drive North

On American Way, about 1.3 to 1.8 road miles from the garages and about 3.3 to 3.4 from Epic Universe, this Hilton Garden Inn lists its Bonus Benefits on Hilton’s page (June 2026 capture), including “Free scheduled transportation to Universal Orlando theme parks.” The same page’s summary invites guests to “enjoy the complimentary scheduled shuttle to Universal Orlando Resort, two miles away, and Universal Epic Universe, four miles away,” but Hilton publishes no Epic times or stop, so confirm Epic runs at the desk. Booking.com’s listing says a free shuttle to Universal theme parks stops at the property.

  • Why stay: free parking, no resort fee and a tiki bar and pool for evenings after the parks.
  • Getting there / to the parks: book seats at the lobby Universal desk; no times are published online.
  • Good to know: Hilton lists breakfast at extra cost (some Booking.com rates include it) and a check-in age of 18. Our Hilton hotels near Universal guide covers this hotel and its neighbors.

Best for: drivers who want free parking but would rather leave the car on park days.

7. Fairfield Inn & Suites Orlando Near Universal Orlando Resort

Marriott calls this Vineland Road hotel “the closest Marriott hotel to the park”; by our routes it’s about 1 to 1.7 road miles from Universal’s garages and about 4.6 from Epic Universe. Its overview page (March 2026 capture, the newest we could open) describes it as a Universal Partner Hotel with “complimentary scheduled morning and evening transportation to nearby Universal Orlando Resort,” plus discounts on merchandise and food at select park locations.

  • Why stay: free hot breakfast and free parking with a short ride to the original parks.
  • Getting there / to the parks: the page doesn’t name Epic Universe or publish times, so ask at the front desk.
  • Good to know: Marriott listed breakfast from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m., a minimum check-in age of 21 and no pets (service animals only) at that check.

Best for: couples and small families on a budget focused on Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

8. Westgate Palace

Westgate’s two towers on Carrier Drive are about 1.7 to 2.3 road miles from the garages and about 3.1 from Epic Universe, and the suites come with kitchens, which suits families. Westgate’s shuttle page says registered guests “exclusively have access to this FREE shuttle,” with seats first come, first served, bookable up to 48 hours ahead (by QR code at the front desk on one part of the page, through FareHarbor after check-in in its FAQ). The FAQ lists Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, CityWalk and Epic Universe.

Booking.com’s fine print disagrees: it says the shuttle runs “exclusively to the Universal Orlando transportation hub.” So ask where you’ll be dropped for Epic Universe before you count on it. Our Westgate Palace review covers the suites and fees.

  • Why stay: one- and two-bedroom suites with kitchens and a free Universal shuttle.
  • Getting there / to the parks: be at the pickup 10 minutes early; no luggage, oversized strollers, scooters, food or drinks are allowed on board, per Westgate.
  • Good to know: the resort fee was $24.99 plus tax a night including one parking space when our review was checked in October 2026; Booking.com lists a minimum check-in age of 21.

Best for: bigger families who want a kitchen and don’t mind confirming the drop-off.

9. Hilton Orlando

This big resort on Destination Parkway by the convention center is about 4.7 to 5.5 road miles from the original parks’ garages but only about 2 miles by road from Epic Universe’s parking toll plaza (the hotel says “less than one mile”). Its Universal page says guests can “access all four Universal theme parks with complimentary transportation,” reserved in person at the Universal Vacation Planning Desk in the front lobby, with pickup on the front drive; it isn’t valid for groups or special events. Its transportation page, checked the same day, still says “all three” parks, so confirm Epic runs at the desk.

  • Why stay: a lazy river and big pool deck, a free Universal shuttle, and a Disney shuttle built into the resort charge.
  • Getting there / to the parks: the $47-plus-tax daily resort charge includes a scheduled round trip to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT (reservations required) and two I-RIDE Trolley passes; the Universal service is described separately as complimentary.
  • Good to know: self-parking is $38 and valet $50 a night, plus tax, and Hilton adds a $2.25 destination marketing tax. Pets aren’t allowed; service animals are welcome. See our Hilton Orlando review.

Best for: families splitting a trip between Universal and Disney who want resort pools.

10. Rosen Plaza

Across from Pointe Orlando, Rosen Plaza is about 3.5 to 4.3 road miles from Universal’s garages and about 2.8 to 3 from Epic Universe. Its location page lists a complimentary daily Universal shuttle, first come, first served, booked at the Concierge Desk 24 hours ahead, with pickup at the Lynx and I-Ride stop. There’s one morning departure to each destination: 8:15 a.m. to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, CityWalk and Volcano Bay, and 8:30 a.m. to Epic Universe. Returns leave the original parks at 5, 6:25, 8 and 9:45 p.m. and Epic at 6:30, 7:35, 8:40 and 10 p.m. (the hotel’s attractions page lists a 9:25 p.m. last return from the original parks and Epic returns at 5:25, 6:40, 7:55 and 9:10 p.m., so confirm); the location page warns the trip back is longer because the bus stops at other hotels.

  • Why stay: no resort fee, a skybridge to the convention center and a free Universal and Epic shuttle.
  • Getting there / to the parks: only one outbound bus each, so it won’t get you there for opening on busy days.
  • Good to know: self-parking is $29 and valet $39, plus tax, per the fact sheet. More in our Rosen Plaza review.

Best for: convention visitors adding a Universal day or two.

Rosen Centre, connected to the convention center, is about 4 to 5.5 road miles from the garages, depending on the route, and about 2.4 to 2.6 from Epic Universe. Its location page lists a complimentary daily Universal shuttle, first come, first served, signed up for at the Concierge Desk 24 hours ahead and boarded at the bus cut-out on Hawaiian Court. At the time of writing, the location page shows 8:20 a.m. to Epic Universe and 8:35 a.m. to the original parks, CityWalk and Volcano Bay, with returns from the original parks at 5, 6:25 and 8 p.m. and from Epic at 6:30, 7:35, 8:40 and 10 p.m. The hotel’s attractions page differs: 8:25 a.m. to the original parks, 8:35 a.m. to Epic and Epic returns at 5:25, 6:40, 7:55 and 9:10 p.m., so confirm at the desk.

  • Why stay: no resort fee and a free Universal shuttle from a full-service convention hotel.
  • Getting there / to the parks: a single morning bus per destination; for SeaWorld, take the morning bus to Universal and change to the 10:05 a.m. connector.
  • Good to know: self-parking is $40 and valet $53, plus tax, per its location page. See our Rosen Centre review.

Best for: convention travelers who want one Universal or Epic day without a car.

See available rooms at Rosen Centre

12. Hyatt Regency Orlando

The Hyatt Regency on International Drive is about 3.5 to 5 road miles from Universal’s garages and about 2.4 to 2.9 from Epic Universe. Hyatt’s Universal page (archived August 30, 2026; hyatt.com blocks direct checks) says guests can “access all three Universal Studios Orlando theme parks with complimentary transportation,” leaving from the convention center entrance. Reservations are made in person at the Universal Vacation Planning Desk 24 hours before, and the service isn’t valid for groups or special events. Epic Universe isn’t mentioned, so ask.

  • Why stay: a large resort with a free Universal shuttle and the Universal desk in the lobby.
  • Getting there / to the parks: times aren’t published; book a day ahead in person.
  • Good to know: Booking.com’s price breakdown for a sample two-night November stay showed a resort fee of US$48 a night, a US$6 nightly destination tax and a 1% property service charge, plus 12.63% tax. Hyatt listed self-parking at $45 and valet at $56 at our last check (August 2026). See our Hyatt Regency Orlando review.

Best for: convention groups and families who want resort pools and an occasional Universal day.

Other hotels with Universal shuttles we checked

  • Hampton Inn Closest to Universal Orlando: Hilton’s page (June 2026 capture) offers a complimentary scheduled shuttle to Universal Orlando and Islands of Adventure but says it is “currently not available for Universal Epic Universe.”
  • Courtyard by Marriott across Universal Orlando: Marriott’s page (July 2026 capture) promises a free scheduled shuttle “provided courtesy of Universal Resorts”; parking was $30 a day.
  • Homewood Suites Nearest to Universal Studios: Hilton’s page (February 2026 capture) mentions “free shuttle passes to the park,” without times.

All three are covered in our Hilton and Marriott guides linked above. For more mixed Universal and Disney options, see our older roundup of Orlando hotels with free shuttles to Universal and Disney.

How to choose a hotel near Universal with free shuttle

  • Need Epic Universe? Pick a hotel that runs a separate Epic route (Rosen Inn Closest to Universal, Rosen Shingle Creek, Rosen Plaza, Rosen Centre) or names Epic in writing (Holiday Inn Express, Drury). Westgate Palace and Hilton Orlando have conflicting pages.
  • Want rope drop? No hotel here lists a run for Early Park Admission, and the earliest listed buses leave around 7 to 8 a.m. If the first hour matters, drive, take a rideshare or stay at a Universal hotel.
  • Count the real cost: Universal’s regular self-parking is $35 a day, tax included, at the time of writing (prices vary by day), so four park days by car add $140, before any hotel parking. A free shuttle saves that only if its times work for you.
  • Watch resort fees: the Rosen hotels, Holiday Inn Express and Hilton Garden Inn say they charge no resort fee, and Drury lists none; Hilton Orlando, Hyatt and Westgate Palace add one every night whether you ride or not.
  • Plan for the return: evening buses leave at set times, and shared routes stop at several hotels. Universal’s garages offer free self-parking after 6 p.m. except on Halloween Horror Nights nights and December 31, and never at Epic Universe, which can help if a friend drives over to collect you.

Shuttle tips that save time

  • Reserve the moment the desk allows: most hotels book in person 24 hours ahead (Westgate up to 48 hours), and seats are first come, first served.
  • Note your drop-off point: the original parks and Epic Universe have separate entrances, and some hotels list separate routes for each.
  • Check special events: Halloween Horror Nights runs on select nights through November 1, 2026, and several hotels say their shuttles don’t serve special events.
  • Volcano Bay is closed for maintenance from October 26, 2026, with reopening planned on or before April 1, 2027, so ignore the Volcano Bay label on shuttle routes during those dates.
  • Leave luggage, coolers and big strollers behind: Westgate’s rules ban them, and other hotels limit mobility aids per bus.

Frequently asked questions

Which hotels near Universal have a free shuttle?

Many off-site partner hotels do. The clearest in October 2026 were Rosen Inn Closest to Universal, Rosen Shingle Creek, Rosen Plaza, Rosen Centre and Four Points I-Drive, which publish times, and the Holiday Inn Express Nearest Universal and Drury Inn & Suites, which state that Epic Universe is included. All require reservations, and schedules follow park hours, so confirm times at check-in.

Do hotel shuttles go to Epic Universe?

Some do. The Rosen hotels list separate Epic Universe departures, and Drury and the Holiday Inn Express name Epic in their shuttle wording. Hampton Inn Closest to Universal says its shuttle doesn’t serve Epic, Hyatt Regency mentions “all three” parks, and Westgate Palace and Hilton Orlando have conflicting pages. Ask where the Epic bus drops you before you rely on it.

What is a Universal Partner Hotel?

It’s an off-site hotel in Universal’s partner program. Universal’s vacation site says some preferred partners offer Bonus Benefits: merchandise discounts, food and non-alcoholic drink discounts at select park and CityWalk locations, and scheduled transportation to the parks. Most also have a lobby desk that sells tickets. Partner status doesn’t include Universal Express or Early Park Admission with a room-only booking.

Do off-site shuttle guests get Early Park Admission?

Not with a room-only booking. Universal offers Early Park Admission to guests of its own hotels “and other selected groups,” with valid park admission, at select attractions. Rosen Inn Closest to Universal and Rosen Shingle Creek also say their buses aren’t valid for Early Park Admission, and no hotel here lists a run timed for it, so plan your own transport for the early hour.

Do I need to reserve the hotel shuttle to Universal?

Yes, at every hotel on this list. Most take reservations in person at the lobby Universal desk, usually from 24 hours before departure, and Westgate Palace allows up to 48 hours. Seats are limited and first come, first served, so reserve your morning bus and ask about the return as early as the desk allows.

Is a hotel shuttle cheaper than parking at Universal?

Usually, if the times suit you. Universal charges $35 a day, tax included, for regular self-parking at the time of writing, so four park days cost $140 by car. The shuttles here are free to ride, but Hilton Orlando, Hyatt Regency and Westgate Palace charge nightly resort fees, and parking your own car at the hotel can still cost extra.

Bottom line

For hotels near Universal with free shuttle service, start with Rosen Inn Closest to Universal for published times and Epic runs at a low total cost, or the Holiday Inn Express and Drury if free breakfast and parking matter more. Pick Rosen Shingle Creek or Hilton Orlando if you want resort pools. Whichever you choose, reserve seats the day before and check the Epic Universe drop-off.
