Universal Terra Luna Resort is Stella Nova’s shuttle-only twin on Epic Boulevard: 750 two-queen rooms for up to four, a big zero-entry pool, quick-service dining and Universal’s Prime Value perks, meaning Early Park Admission and free buses but no Express Pass. Loews runs it and lists its opening as March 25, 2025, about two months before Epic Universe opened next door.

The main difference from its sister across the road is access. Universal advertises a walking path to Epic Universe for Stella Nova only; for Terra Luna it lists free shuttles. Otherwise the rooms, perks and fees match, and the two hotels share their pools.

Quick answer: Book Universal Terra Luna Resort if you want an on-site hotel near Epic Universe for four or fewer, you don’t mind the free bus, and its rate beats Stella Nova’s for your dates. Pick Stella Nova if walking to Epic’s gate matters, and look elsewhere if you need a room for five, a kitchen or Express Pass.

Location and distances: next to Epic Universe, a bus ride from the rest

Terra Luna stands in the newer, southern part of Universal Orlando Resort, about 3.5 to 4 miles by road south of CityWalk and the two original parks. Stella Nova sits across the road, a little closer to Epic Universe’s entrance.

DestinationRoad distanceTypical drive
Epic Universe guest parkingAbout 1.3 to 1.5 miles5 to 10 min

Disney SpringsAbout 9 miles20 min
EPCOT main parking lotAbout 12 to 13 miles25 min
Magic Kingdom (Transportation and Ticket Center)About 13 to 14 miles25 min
Orlando International AirportAbout 13 miles25 min

Distances come from an open-source router, rounded, with light-traffic times; Loews quotes two miles to the convention center and 14 to the airport. The hotel lists no Disney shuttle, so Disney days mean a car or rideshare.

Rooms: 315 sq ft, two queens, up to four

Every room has two queen beds in 315 sq ft (29 sq m), with a small sitting area, “plenty of storage” and separate vanity and bath areas. Loews describes “sweeping curves, terrestrial tones” and “an eye-catching, spaceship-styled window”, and a planet mural runs above the headboards. You get a flat-panel TV, a mini fridge, a coffee maker, a safe, a hairdryer and free basic Wi-Fi; no microwave is listed.

Loews sells seven versions, all two queens for four: Standard View, Pool View, mobility-accessible rooms with an ADA tub in either view, a roll-in shower room in Standard View only, and hearing-accessible rooms in both views. There is no park-view category, kids’ suite or kitchenette, and no connecting rooms are mentioned.

Universal’s page offers complimentary cribs on request, Loews calls them Pack ‘n Plays, and neither says whether an infant counts toward the four, so ask before booking four plus a baby. Someone in each room must be 21 or older (17 with an active military ID). In the Prime Value tier, the room for five is the Kids’ Suite at Universal Aventura Hotel.

Pool and recreation: a zero-entry pool shared with Stella Nova

Universal describes a zero-entry pool with a hot tub, lounge and table-top seating and select outdoor games; Loews adds pop-up jets, a “massive” hot tub and poolside movies, and lists a fire pit. Neither lists a waterslide, lazy river or splash pad, or the pool’s size. Universal says its pools are heated and close below 50 degrees.

The useful extra: Universal’s hotel FAQ says “The pools at Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort are reserved exclusively for guests staying at Stella Nova or Terra Luna.” So you can cross the road to Stella Nova’s 10,000 sq ft pool and kids’ splash pad, covered in our Universal Stella Nova Resort review. The main-campus hotels pool-hop only within their own group, which includes neither.

Indoors there is a 1,077 sq ft Rec Room, where games run on a game card you buy. No kids’ club is listed.

Dining and breakfast: quick service only

Neither Universal nor Loews lists breakfast in the room rate, so check what your Booking.com rate includes. Everything is casual, and hours can change:

  • Omega Cafe and Market: the three-meal quick-service restaurant, with burgers, paninis, fried chicken and pastas.
  • Grab-and-go coffee bar: in the lobby, with refrigerated food and drinks, scooped ice cream and made-to-order coffee, per Loews.
  • Moonrise Bar and Moonrise Grill: the full-service pool bar, featuring rum drinks, with a grill for burgers, quesadillas and salads.
  • Luna Bar: the lobby bar, with craft cocktails that Loews says focus on “photo-synthetic ingredients and vegetation-derived spirits”, plus classics, beer and wine (21 and over with ID).
  • Pizza delivery: fresh-made pizza brought to your room.

No table-service restaurant is listed, so a sit-down dinner means the bus to CityWalk, a meal inside Epic Universe or a drive to Universal’s other hotels.

Universal’s terms cover direct bookings: the first night plus tax is charged within five business days, cancellations six or more days out are refunded in full, and inside that window you pay one night plus tax. Its fee-free severe-weather changes are also for direct bookings only. Booking.com rates have their own conditions, so read yours.

Check-in is 4 pm and check-out 11 am; Loews sells late check-out at an unpublished price. The hotel is smoke-free ($250 cleaning fee) and pets are not allowed; Universal lists four pet-friendly hotels on its main campus, for $150 at the time of writing.

Getting to the parks: the bus to Epic Universe and everything else

Universal’s hotel page says “All of Universal Orlando’s theme parks and Universal CityWalk are accessible via convenient and complimentary shuttles.” Its comparison page shows a walking path to Epic for Stella Nova only, and its Discover Universal transportation guide names only Helios Grand and Stella Nova as walk-to-Epic hotels. Treat Terra Luna as a shuttle hotel.

Free buses run to Epic Universe, to the CityWalk hub for Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, and to Volcano Bay, starting one hour before Early Park Admission. Universal’s SuperStar Shuttle serves the airport for a fee, and an Avis desk in the lobby opens 8 am to 6 pm.

Bus frequency: every 10 or every 15 minutes?

Universal’s pages disagree. The Discover Universal guide (August 27, 2025) says the Terra Luna bus “arrives every 10 minutes”; the hotel FAQ puts Terra Luna in a group of five hotels served every 15 minutes. Plan on 10 to 15 minutes between buses plus a ride of 10 to 20 minutes, per the blog.

Can you walk to Epic Universe?

Not on an advertised path. An open-source foot router finds about 0.9 miles from the hotel to the turnstiles by the Chronos portal, roughly 20 minutes. Planner reports in our Stella Nova vs Terra Luna comparison describe a route joining Stella Nova’s path, with multi-lane road crossings and no shade, at 20 to 30 minutes or more. With kids, in summer heat or after dark, take the bus.

For the original parks, every day starts with the bus to CityWalk. Volcano Bay has a maintenance closure from October 26, 2026, reopening on or before April 1, 2027, so that route pauses.

Park perks: Early Park Admission yes, Express Pass no

Terra Luna includes Early Park Admission, free transportation, room-key charging and free delivery of purchases from select park and CityWalk stores (not on check-out day; deliveries end at 5 pm). With a room key and valid tickets you enter the designated park up to an hour early, at select attractions.

At the time of writing, it runs October 5 to November 30, 2026 at Islands of Adventure (Hagrid’s, VelociCoaster, Forbidden Journey, Flight of the Hippogriff and Ollivanders) and Epic Universe (select attractions in Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, Isle of Berk and Celestial Park), plus Volcano Bay up to 30 minutes early through October 25, with nothing at Universal Studios Florida. See our guide to how Universal Early Park Admission works and check Universal’s calendar for your dates.

Free Express Unlimited comes only with three Signature Collection hotels on the main campus, and covers Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, not Epic Universe or Volcano Bay. Universal cites a range of $124.99 to $389.99 per person for a two-park Express Unlimited pass. Our Epic Universe guide covers tickets and ride heights.

Mobile check-in is only for direct reservations, so with a Booking.com booking you check in at the front desk.

Amenities: fitness, laundry, shop, Wi-Fi and accessibility

The free fitness center has treadmills, bikes, an elliptical, weight machines and free weights, plus locker rooms with showers for arrival and departure days. The lobby has a Universal Studios Store with sundries, toys and logo merchandise and, per Loews, a Universal ticket desk and kiosk, luggage storage and free safety deposit boxes.

The coin laundromat is open 9 am to 6 pm daily, per Universal; Stella Nova’s is open 24/7. Neither official page lists a spa.

Loews lists accessible routes to the front desk, rooms, restaurants, gym and pool, accessible parking, a TTY, closed captioning and accessible transport with notice. Loews gives mobility-accessible rooms doorways with 36 inches of clear width, while its in-room ADA list and Universal’s page give 34.5-inch entry doors, so ask if width is critical. Both list braille room numbers and hearing-impaired kits, and Universal says only four vendors may deliver scooters: Buena Vista Rentals, BP Mobility, Scooter Bug and Apple Scooter.

Who Terra Luna suits, and who it doesn’t

It suits couples, friends and families of up to four who want on-site perks near Epic Universe without Signature Collection rates, will ride the bus anyway and want a big pool to come back to. Toddler families can cross to Stella Nova’s splash pad.

It does not suit families of five or more, rope-drop planners who want to walk to Epic’s gate, or guests who expect Express, a table-service restaurant, a waterslide or late-night laundry. If most days are at the original parks, pick a main-campus hotel with a walking path to CityWalk.

Pros

  • Early Park Admission, free shuttles to all four parks and CityWalk, room-key charging and purchase delivery, with no resort fee listed.
  • A large heated zero-entry pool with a hot tub, fire pit and movies, plus access to Stella Nova’s pool and splash pad.
  • Separate vanity and bath areas, a mini fridge, a coffee maker and free basic Wi-Fi in every room.
  • The same rooms, perks and fees as Stella Nova, so it wins whenever its rate is lower.
  • Detailed accessibility provisions, including roll-in showers and hearing-accessible rooms.

Limitations to know

  • No advertised walking path to Epic Universe; every park day starts with a bus.
  • No Universal Express; even the Signature hotels’ free Express does not cover Epic.
  • One room type, 315 sq ft, four guests at most, no suites or kitchenettes.
  • Quick-service dining only, and no included breakfast.
  • No waterslide or lazy river listed, and the laundromat closes at 6 pm.
  • Volcano Bay is closed for maintenance from October 26, 2026 until on or before April 1, 2027.

What to check before you book

  • Stella Nova’s rate for the same nights: if the gap is small, the walking path may be worth it.
  • Your Early Park Admission dates, and whether Epic Universe is on the list.
  • The cancellation terms of your Booking.com rate, which can differ from Universal’s six-day rule.
  • Whether your party fits: four guests at most, $20 per adult beyond two, and how a baby is counted.
  • Whether your dates overlap Volcano Bay’s closure or a ticketed evening event at the original parks.

Frequently asked questions

Can you walk from Universal Terra Luna Resort to Epic Universe?

No advertised path. Universal lists only free shuttles for Terra Luna, and its comparison page shows a walking path to Epic for Stella Nova alone. An open-source foot router finds a route of about 0.9 miles, roughly 20 minutes, and planners report 20 to 30 minutes or more with multi-lane road crossings and no shade. The bus is the practical choice.

Does Universal Terra Luna Resort include Express Pass?

No. Free Universal Express Unlimited comes only with three Signature Collection hotels on Universal’s main campus, and it covers Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, not Epic Universe or Volcano Bay. Terra Luna includes Early Park Admission and free shuttles; for shorter lines, buy Express separately, at prices that vary by date.

Does Terra Luna charge a resort fee or for parking?

No resort fee is listed on Universal’s or Loews’ pages. Overnight self-parking is $30 plus tax per vehicle per night at the time of writing, each adult beyond two costs $20, and 12.5% tax is added to the room rate. Universal says rates can change without notice, so confirm them when you book.

Can Terra Luna guests use the Stella Nova pool?

Yes. Universal’s hotel FAQ says the Stella Nova and Terra Luna pools are reserved exclusively for guests of either hotel, so you can use Stella Nova’s 10,000 sq ft pool and kids’ splash pad across the road. Neither hotel is in the main-campus pool-hopping group, so those pools are off limits. Rules can change, so confirm at the front desk.

Is breakfast included at Universal Terra Luna Resort?

No. Neither Universal nor Loews lists breakfast in the room rate, so check what your Booking.com rate includes. Omega Cafe and Market serves a quick-service breakfast, and Loews lists a grab-and-go coffee bar in the lobby with made-to-order coffee and refrigerated food. CityWalk and the parks add more choice.

How often does the Terra Luna shuttle run?

Universal’s pages disagree. Its Discover Universal transportation guide says every 10 minutes, while its hotel FAQ says every 15 minutes for Terra Luna. Buses start one hour before Early Park Admission and run to Epic Universe, the CityWalk hub and Volcano Bay when it is open, and the ride takes about 10 to 20 minutes.

Bottom line

Universal Terra Luna Resort is Stella Nova without the walking path: the same 315 sq ft rooms for four, the same Prime Value perks and the same costs, with no resort fee listed and $30 plus tax parking. If you are four or fewer and its rate is lower, it is a sensible Epic Universe base; to walk to the gate, pay more for its twin. Check your dates for Universal Terra Luna Resort on Booking.com.
