The Walt Disney World Dolphin is the 27-story, 1,514-room resort on Crescent Lake between EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the simplest way to get nearly every Disney hotel perk on a Booking.com reservation. Marriott runs it, not Disney, yet guests get Early Theme Park Entry, Extended Evening Hours and the 7-day Lightning Lane window, and can walk or boat to two theme parks.

Facts come from the resort’s and Disney’s own pages; where they disagree, you get both versions. For the three-hotel decision, see our Swan vs Dolphin vs Swan Reserve comparison and our Walt Disney World Swan review.

Quick answer: Book the Walt Disney World Dolphin if you are a family of five (standard rooms allow two adults and three children), want the most restaurants and the Camp Dolphin kids club under one roof, or plan to walk to EPCOT in about 15 minutes. Budget $50 plus tax a night for the resort service package and $40 plus tax a day to park, and expect a busy convention lobby.

Location: between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios

The Dolphin stands on Crescent Lake, ringed by Disney’s BoardWalk, Yacht Club and Beach Club, with EPCOT’s International Gateway at the far end of the lake and Hollywood Studios a walk south along the canal. The resort says walkways lead to both park entrances; the walking figures below are our route checks to each park’s ticket booths. It features in our hotels near EPCOT and hotels near Hollywood Studios lists.

Rooms at the Dolphin: sizes, beds and who they sleep

Traditional rooms are 360 square feet (33 square meters) with two double beds or one king, or a king plus a sofa bed, with a rollaway available, and the resort lists them for two adults and three children; the Swan and Swan Reserve stop at two adults and two children. The beds are doubles, not queens.

Rooms have the all-white Heavenly Bed, a single-serve coffee maker, a mini refrigerator, a safe and a streaming TV. Bathrooms have a glass-enclosed shower with a rain showerhead; a shower-and-tub combination is available on request. Deluxe rooms are the same size with a private furnished balcony (two chairs and a table); family rooms are 480 square feet (45 square meters) with an alcove, also for two adults and three children; suites, booked by phone with the resort, run from the Grand and Governors Suites to a Presidential Suite with a full kitchen. Views are sold as “no view” or, at extra cost, “resort view”.

A third, fourth or fifth adult costs $35 per person per night plus tax at the time of writing.

Pools, beach and recreation

The pool complex between the Dolphin and the Swan is shared across the resort. The resort’s pools page lists six pools: the Grotto pool with tropical waterfalls and a water slide, two lap pools, a spring pool, a relaxation pool and a kiddie pool, plus four whirlpools. The Dolphin’s own page counts “4 sparkling pools” on its side, so confirm that a specific pool is open for your dates in the resort app.

The white-sand beach has hammocks, sand volleyball and a playground. Swan paddle boats leave from the dock, and a daily rental for two guests is covered by the resort service package; tube and raft rentals and beach towels come from the Cabana Beach Hut by the Dolphin’s spring pool, and private cabanas can be rented. For more lakeside sand, see our Orlando resorts with a beach.

Dining and breakfast

Eleven of the complex’s 23 restaurants and lounges are in the Dolphin. The signature trio is Todd English’s bluezoo (seafood, dinner 5 to 10 pm), Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak (5 to 11 pm) and Rosa Mexicano (breakfast 7 to 11 am, lunch noon to 2 pm, dinner 5 to 11 pm). Each has a kids menu and a dress code, and at the time of writing each offers two complimentary Camp Dolphin hours to diners.

Casual options: The Fountain for burgers, sundaes and shakes (11 am to 11 pm), Cabana Bar and Beach Club by the pool (11 am to 8 pm), Fuel for coffee, sandwiches, pastries and pizza (from 6 am) and Phins, the lobby lounge (from 3 pm). Lagoon Games, Lanes & Eats, which serves Pies Pizza, opens at 10 am. Hours change often, so check the app.

Breakfast is not part of a standard rate: Rosa Mexicano is the sit-down option, Fuel the quick one, and the Swan’s Java (and Garden Grove, open seasonally) is across the causeway. The Disney Dining Plan is not an option, since Disney sells it only with packages that include a Disney Resort hotel stay.

Resort fee, parking and other charges

The Dolphin’s extras match the Swan’s and are listed by the resort as follows at the time of writing, plus hotel taxes (12.5% in Orange County at last check). Confirm them on the reservations and transportation FAQs before you book.

ChargeAmount at last checkWhat the resort says
Resort service package$50 + tax per room, per nightMandatory; covers two guests
Self-parking$40 + tax per dayKeep your room key to exit the gate
Valet parking$51 to $61 + tax per dayPriced by availability
Theme-park parkingIncludedStandard lots, with your room key
Extra adults$35 + tax per person, per nightThird, fourth and fifth adult
Early departureOne night’s room and taxUnless you tell the front desk by midnight on arrival day

The package covers, for two guests, in-room Wi-Fi, a daily paddleboat rental, daily fitness classes, nightly beach movies with s’mores, a $5 Lagoon game credit and $30 off Mandara Spa services of $230 or more; its loyalty-member extras apply to direct Marriott bookings, not Booking.com stays. Free theme-park parking is worth $35 a day at Disney’s current standard rate, although the resort’s FAQ still shows an older $30 figure. Check-in is 4 pm, check-out 11 am, and pets are not allowed.

Getting to the parks: boats, walkways and buses

FriendShip boats leave the dock on the covered walkway between the Swan and Dolphin for Disney’s BoardWalk, EPCOT’s International Gateway and Hollywood Studios about every 20 to 25 minutes, starting one hour before the parks open; Disney’s own page puts most boat routes at 15- to 30-minute intervals. Boats stop in bad weather and strollers must be folded on board, so a wet afternoon can mean a walk. See our EPCOT tips for the International Gateway entrance.

For Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs, complimentary shuttle buses leave from the Dolphin’s main entrance: the transportation pages say every 20 to 25 minutes, the Disney benefits and weekly hours pages 20 to 30, so plan on the longer figure. They run until 45 minutes after park close and up to 90 minutes after Disney Springs closes. The Magic Kingdom bus ends at the Transportation and Ticket Center, so allow time for the monorail or ferry. From the airport, the resort names Mears Connect as its shared-shuttle provider and arranges paid private transfers; our route check makes it about 22 miles (the resort’s location page says a 25-minute drive).

Disney perks for Dolphin guests (and what you don’t get)

Disney lists the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel on its Early Theme Park Entry page: 30 minutes in any of the four parks before regular opening on every day of the stay, and Disney says the benefit continues through 2027. The Dolphin is also one of only four non-Disney hotels, with the Swan, Swan Reserve and Shades of Green, whose guests get Extended Evening Theme Park Hours on select nights in select parks; check Disney’s calendar for your dates. See our list of non-Disney hotels with Early Theme Park Entry.

Lightning Lane purchases open 7 days before arrival for the length of your stay (up to 14 days), the same window as Disney Resort hotels; other off-site guests get 3 days. Our Disney Lightning Lane guide explains the passes. Guests also get free standard theme-park parking, advance tee times at Disney’s golf courses and a Disney Planning Center in the lobby for tickets, dining and Lightning Lane help. What you don’t get: the Disney Dining Plan, charging park purchases to your room (the resort’s dining FAQ rules it out), a bus to the Magic Kingdom gate or a Skyliner station (the nearest is at International Gateway).

Spa, fitness, Camp Dolphin and other amenities

Mandara Spa, a 10,500-square-foot Balinese-inspired spa at the Dolphin, opens daily from 8 am to 7 pm with massages, wraps, facials and salon services. The Dolphin Health Club, on the lower level by the pools, is open 24 hours with your room key and included in the resort fee for guests 16 and older; instructor-led classes such as aqua aerobics, Zumba and beach yoga run daily.

Camp Dolphin, next to the health club, takes potty-trained children aged 5 to 12 nightly by reservation. Its resort page lists 3 to 10 pm, while the weekly hours page and Disney’s Camp Dolphin page show 4 to 11 pm (drop-off 4 to 5 pm). At the time of writing the resort lists $120 for the all-inclusive evening (up to seven hours with a kids’ dinner, a snack and a craft) and $60 for a two-hour session (4 to 6 or 6 to 8 pm), with two complimentary hours for signature-restaurant diners; confirm hours and prices when you book.

Views: lake, landscape or courtyard

The resort says deluxe balconies overlook the courtyard, the landscaping or Crescent Lake. “Resort view” is sold as an upgrade over “no view”, and the room pages promise no lake or fireworks view, so treat a fireworks sighting as a bonus.

The resort’s photo above looks across Crescent Lake toward the Beach Club and Spaceship Earth. If a fireworks view is the point of your trip, see our guide to hotels with views of Disney fireworks.

Who the Dolphin suits

Families of five, parents who want a kids club and restaurants in the building, EPCOT festival regulars, and runDisney or convention visitors who need a big hotel with Disney access. Couples who want calm should consider the Swan, a smaller building with recently remodeled rooms.

Pros

  • Early Theme Park Entry, Extended Evening Hours and the 7-day Lightning Lane window, a combination only the Swan and Swan Reserve match on Booking.com.
  • Walk or boat to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, with free standard parking at all four parks when you drive.
  • Standard rooms for two adults and three children, plus balcony rooms, family rooms and suites.
  • A big shared pool complex, eleven restaurants and lounges, Camp Dolphin, a 24-hour health club and a full-service spa.

Limitations to know

  • The $50-plus-tax package and $40-plus-tax parking add about $100 a day with tax for a driving family, before the room rate.
  • A major convention hotel with two ballrooms and 75 meeting rooms: the lobby, bars and elevators get busy when a conference is in.
  • No Disney Dining Plan, no room-charging in the parks, no Skyliner, and the Magic Kingdom bus ends at the Transportation and Ticket Center.
  • Double beds, not queens, in standard rooms, and boats that stop in bad weather.

What to check before you book

Check whether your Booking.com total includes the resort service package or lists it as payable at the hotel. Count heads: a third adult costs $35 a night plus tax. Ask about conventions and any renovation work on your dates, and book “resort view” if the outlook matters. Check Disney’s calendar for Extended Evening Hours nights, and note that the resort’s 17th Food and Wine Classic fills the causeway from 5 to 9 pm on November 20 and 21, 2026. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.

Nearby alternatives

The Walt Disney World Swan shares the pools, boats, buses, perks and fees, with remodeled 340-square-foot rooms for two adults and two children in a smaller building; the Swan Reserve, the 14-story building the resort added in 2021, has 149 suites among its 349 rooms and is a few minutes farther from the boat dock. Frequently asked questions

Is the Walt Disney World Dolphin a Disney hotel?

Not quite. It sits inside Walt Disney World on Crescent Lake, but Marriott operates it, so it is not a Disney Resort hotel. That is why it sells on Booking.com, earns Marriott points only on direct bookings, and gives guests most Disney hotel perks, including Early Entry, Extended Evening Hours and the 7-day Lightning Lane window, but not the Disney Dining Plan.

Do Dolphin guests get Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours?

Yes. Disney’s Early Entry page lists the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, giving guests 30 minutes before regular opening at all four theme parks every day of the stay, and Disney says the benefit continues through 2027. The Dolphin is also one of only four non-Disney hotels on the Extended Evening Hours list, with the Swan, Swan Reserve and Shades of Green.

How much are the resort fee and parking at the Walt Disney World Dolphin?

At the time of writing, the resort service package is $50 plus tax per room per night, self-parking is $40 plus tax per day and valet runs $51 to $61 plus tax. Standard parking at Disney’s theme parks is free for registered guests with a room key, and a third, fourth or fifth adult costs $35 plus tax per night. Confirm current amounts on the resort’s FAQ.

Can you walk from the Dolphin to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios?

Yes. The resort says walkways lead to both park entrances, and our foot-routing check measures about 0.7 mile (15 minutes) to EPCOT’s International Gateway and 1.1 miles (25 minutes) to the Hollywood Studios entrance. FriendShip boats from the dock between the Swan and Dolphin serve the same two parks about every 20 to 25 minutes, except in bad weather.

Does the Walt Disney World Dolphin have balcony rooms and rooms that sleep five?

Yes to both. Deluxe rooms have a private furnished balcony with two chairs and a table at the same 360 square feet as a traditional room, and traditional, deluxe and family rooms are all listed for two adults and three children, with two double beds or a king and a sofa bed. The Swan and Swan Reserve cap standard rooms at four.

Bottom line

The Walt Disney World Dolphin is the big, busy, well-connected option: among EPCOT-area hotels, it is the only one on Booking.com where a family of five can share a standard room, walk to EPCOT, use Early Entry and Extended Evening Hours and still have a kids club and eleven places to eat downstairs. Price the $50 fee and $40 parking into your comparison, and pick the smaller Swan if you want calm. Check your dates for the Walt Disney World Dolphin on Booking.com.
