This Disney Springs guide covers the practical side of Walt Disney World’s shopping, dining and entertainment district in Lake Buena Vista: free parking and the three garages, opening hours, who can ride Disney’s buses and boats, Drawn to Life showtimes, dining reservations and the hotels you can walk from.

You don’t need a theme park ticket to visit. Visit Orlando, the area’s official tourism association, says admission and parking are always free, and Disney confirms complimentary standard self-parking. What trips people up is transport: Disney’s buses and boats from Disney Springs to Disney resorts are limited to resort guests and visitors with a reservation, and there’s no Disney bus from the theme parks. Details below come from official pages checked in October 2026, so confirm them before you go.

Quick answer: Park free in the Orange, Lime or Grapefruit garage (they open at 9 a.m. on regular days). Expect 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday and until 11:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and arrive an hour before any reservation or show. To walk in and skip the car, stay at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista or the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace, both linked by pedestrian bridge, or at the Drury Plaza, about half a mile away.

Disney Springs guide: the essentials at a glance

  • Address: 1486 East Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830. From I-4, take exit 67 toward EPCOT/Disney Springs.
  • Admission: free. You pay only for what you buy, eat or book.
  • Hours: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday on the October 2026 calendar. Some venues keep their own hours.
  • Parking: free standard self-parking in the surface lots and three garages.
  • Disney buses and boats: they link Disney Springs with Disney Resort hotels. Boarding at Disney Springs is for Disney resort guests or visitors with a dining or experience reservation at a Disney resort.
  • Walkable hotels: the Disney Springs Resort Area hotels along Hotel Plaza Boulevard. Disney says guests at select hotels there can walk in on pedestrian footbridges to the Marketplace.

The four areas of Disney Springs

The official Disney Springs website tags most shops, restaurants and experiences with one of four areas, which helps you pick a garage or drop-off point.

AreaBest forExamples
MarketplaceDisney shopping, young kidsWorld of Disney, The LEGO Store, carousel, Rainforest Cafe
The LandingWaterfront dining and barsThe BOATHOUSE, Raglan Road, Morimoto Asia, Gideon’s Bakehouse
Town CenterBrand stores and servicesCoca-Cola Store, ZARA, UNIQLO, Welcome Center
West SideShows and nightlifeDrawn to Life, balloon flights, House of Blues, LEVEL99

With young children, the Marketplace is the easiest base. The Marketplace Carousel and the Marketplace Train Express run from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and cost $5 per ride, $10 for two or $20 for six at the time of writing. One adult rides free with each child under 42 inches on the carousel, or under 36 inches on the train.

In Town Center you’ll also find the Disney Springs Welcome Center (near D-Luxe Burger) and the Disney Ticket Center, where you can buy or upgrade theme park tickets.

Disney Springs parking: garages, opening times and arrival tips

Standard self-parking is free in every surface lot and garage. Disney lists three garages, Orange, Lime and Grapefruit, plus surface lots such as the Watermelon lot next to the Cirque du Soleil theater and the Strawberry lot by the West Side bus and rideshare loop. The interactive map on the Disney Springs website shows which is closest to your first stop.

  • Opening times: garages open at 9 a.m. on regular days. On special merchandise days, including every Tuesday for new pin releases, garages and rideshare loops open at 7 a.m., and cars may not queue earlier.
  • Arrive early: Disney asks you to park at least 60 minutes before a reservation, event or show, and to allow up to 2 hours at holidays and peak periods.
  • Find your car: the free Car Locator in the My Disney Experience app saves where you parked.
  • EV charging: ChargePoint spaces sit in all three garages, and fast chargers in the Watermelon lot cost $0.40 per kWh at the time of writing, plus $0.30 per minute if your car stays after a 20-minute grace period.

For comparison, Disney’s standard theme park parking is $35 a day at last check, so Disney Springs makes an easy evening plan if you have a car.

Getting to Disney Springs without a car

Disney buses and the Sassagoula River Cruise boats

If you’re staying at a Disney Resort hotel, free buses run between your resort and Disney Springs during its operating hours and until one hour after closing. Buses and boats leaving Disney Springs for Disney resorts are only for guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel, or visitors with a valid dining or experience reservation at one. With a reservation, you can board up to 2 hours before your time.

The Sassagoula River Cruise boats leave the Marketplace dock for Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, Old Key West Resort, Port Orleans Resort – Riverside and Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter.

Disney Springs is also the bus transfer point for Typhoon Lagoon, but Disney lists that water park as temporarily closed at the time of writing.

Rideshare drop-off and pickup

Rideshare cars use two loops: the Marketplace Loop near Disney’s Wonderful World of Memories, and the West Side Bus and Rideshare Loop next to the Strawberry lot.

Walking from the Disney Springs Resort Area hotels

Disney says guests at select resort-area hotels can walk in on the pedestrian footbridges that connect Hotel Plaza Boulevard with the Marketplace. That’s the main reason to stay here: you can stroll over for dinner without paying for a ride or circling a garage.

From Disney Springs to the theme parks

Disney says there is no bus service from the theme parks to Disney Springs, and it describes its Disney Springs buses as running to and from Disney Resort hotels. Without a car, use a rideshare or your hotel’s shuttle. Approximate road distances from the Lime Garage, routed with OSRM, are below; allow more time at park opening and in the evening rush.

Things to do at Disney Springs: shows, balloon flights and live music

Drawn to Life by Cirque du Soleil

Drawn to Life is a collaboration between Cirque du Soleil, Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Imagineering, built around an animator’s desk. Cirque du Soleil lists it at 90 minutes with no intermission and calls it family-friendly.

  • Schedule at the time of writing: Disney Springs lists Wednesday to Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m., with no regular Monday or Tuesday shows. Some dates differ (Saturday, October 31, 2026 showed 1:30 and 4 p.m.), so check yours.
  • Tickets: sold by Cirque du Soleil, and Disney strongly recommends booking ahead.
  • Dinner and show: the Animated Evening offer adds a prix fixe meal at one of about a dozen participating restaurants. You book it by phone at least 24 hours ahead, and it isn’t offered on major holidays.

Aerophile balloon flights

The tethered helium balloon on the West Side rises up to 400 feet on an 8-minute flight, with views of up to 10 miles on clear days. Tickets are sold at the attraction, first come, first served: $29.99 plus tax for ages 10 and up and $24.99 plus tax for ages 3 to 9, at the time of writing. It doesn’t fly in storms or when winds exceed 22 mph, and strollers and bags stay on the ground.

Free live music, games and movies

On the October Monday we checked, the official calendar listed free evening sets on the Lakeview Stage, the Fountain Stage and the AdventHealth Waterside Stage. These are open-air venues, so shows can be canceled in bad weather.

For paid fun, LEVEL99 on the West Side offers more than 60 games and challenges aimed at teens and adults, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The West Side also has the AMC Disney Springs 24 Dine-In Theatres and Splitsville Luxury Lanes, and the Vintage Amphicar Tours leave from The Landing.

Disney Springs restaurants and dining reservations

The official site has more than 60 dining listings, from counter-service burgers to chef-driven restaurants. Disney highly recommends reservations at select restaurants, made online or in the My Disney Experience app. Disney’s dining reservation window opens 60 days ahead, and Disney Resort hotel guests can book from 60 days before arrival for their whole stay, up to 10 nights.

  • The Landing: The BOATHOUSE, Raglan Road, Morimoto Asia, Paddlefish and Wine Bar George.
  • Town Center: Frontera Cocina, Planet Hollywood, The Polite Pig and D-Luxe Burger.
  • Marketplace: Rainforest Cafe, T-REX and Earl of Sandwich.
  • West Side: Jaleo by José Andrés, City Works Eatery & Pour House and House of Blues.

Some restaurants require a credit card guarantee, and cancelling less than one day ahead can bring a per-person charge. For quick bites, mobile ordering in the app works at select spots such as D-Luxe Burger and Amorette’s Patisserie. Note that the official site lists Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill and the Disney Springs Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique as closed; Disney points families to the Magic Kingdom boutique.

Shopping, services and shipping purchases home

World of Disney in the Marketplace is the headline store, open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Disney bills it as the world’s largest collection of Disney merchandise. The LEGO Store and Once Upon a Toy are nearby, the West Side has Star Wars Galactic Outpost and M&M’S, and Town Center has brands such as ZARA, UNIQLO, Sephora and lululemon.

  • Guest Shipping Station: behind the Marketplace Co-Op, open from noon until closing time. It ships purchases from Disney-owned shops only, with a receipt, and won’t take food, drinks, perfume or lithium batteries.
  • Disney Ticket Center: in Town Center, for park tickets, upgrades, will-call and annual passes.
  • Welcome Center: accessibility information, guide maps, lost guests and, for international visitors, currency exchange help and maps in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.
  • Rentals: wheelchairs, ECVs and strollers at Sundries (next to the Town Center bus loop), the Welcome Center mobility kiosk and the Guest Shipping Station. One daily rental works at all locations.

Hotels within walking distance of Disney Springs

The Disney Springs Resort Area hotels sit beside the Marketplace, along Hotel Plaza Boulevard. They are Official Walt Disney World Hotels, and Disney lists them for 30-minute Early Theme Park Entry, a perk few off-site hotels get (see our list of non-Disney hotels with Early Theme Park Entry). We compare them all in our Disney Springs Resort Area hotels guide. Here are three easy walks; rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.

Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista – Disney Springs Area

Hilton says this 814-room hotel at 1751 Hotel Plaza Boulevard is directly connected to Disney Springs by a pedestrian skybridge. It has two heated pools, an arcade, six places to eat and a shuttle to the four Disney parks. A daily resort charge covers the Disney shuttle and Wi-Fi, but Hilton’s page didn’t show the amount, so check it at booking. Self-parking was $38 and valet $48 a night in a June 2026 capture.

Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace

The hotel says the walk takes 5 to 7 minutes on average, on a path from the pool area to a pedestrian bridge. The $41 daily resort charge plus tax covers a Disney parks shuttle, the float lagoon and Wi-Fi, and self-parking is $38 or valet $48 per night plus tax, at the time of writing. Our Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace review covers rooms, pools and suites.

Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando – Disney Springs Area

About half a mile from Disney Springs at 2000 Hotel Plaza Boulevard, the Drury Plaza is the value pick: no resort fee, a free hot breakfast from 6 to 10 a.m., and the 5:30 Kickback with hot food and drinks from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A free shuttle runs every hour to all four Disney theme parks. Self-parking is $28 a night on Drury’s site, but the hotel’s FAQ says $25 plus tax, so confirm. More in our Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando review.

Disney resorts linked by boat

Disney’s Saratoga Springs, Old Key West and the two Port Orleans resorts connect to the Marketplace dock by boat. They’re Disney-owned, so you book them through Disney rather than Booking.com.

Frequently asked questions

Is Disney Springs free to visit and to park?

Yes. Visit Orlando, the official tourism association, says admission and parking are always free, and Disney lists complimentary standard self-parking in all Disney Springs lots and garages. You pay only for food, shopping and ticketed experiences such as Drawn to Life, the balloon or LEVEL99. Garages open at 9 a.m. on regular days and at 7 a.m. on special merchandise days, including Tuesdays.

What are Disney Springs’ opening hours?

On the official October 2026 calendar, Disney Springs was open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Individual venues set their own hours: the balloon starts at 9:30 a.m., for example, and LEVEL99 opens at 11 a.m. Check the calendar on the Disney Springs website for your date.

Can you take a Disney bus or boat from Disney Springs if you’re not staying at a Disney resort?

Only if you’re visiting a Disney Resort hotel with a valid dining or experience reservation. Disney limits buses and boats from Disney Springs to Disney resorts to resort guests and reservation holders, who may board up to 2 hours before their reservation time. You may be asked to show a room key or reservation. Everyone else needs a car, a rideshare or a hotel shuttle.

Can you get from Disney Springs to the theme parks by bus?

Don’t count on it. Disney says there is no bus service from the theme parks to Disney Springs, and it describes its Disney Springs buses as serving Disney Resort hotels. By car, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios are about 4.5 miles away and Magic Kingdom’s lot about 6 miles. The Drury Plaza and both Hiltons nearby run their own park shuttles.

Which hotels can you walk to Disney Springs from?

The Disney Springs Resort Area hotels along Hotel Plaza Boulevard; Disney says guests at select hotels there can walk in on pedestrian footbridges to the Marketplace. The Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista links by skybridge, the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace says its walk averages 5 to 7 minutes, and the Drury Plaza is about half a mile away. Disney’s Saratoga Springs, Old Key West and Port Orleans resorts connect by boat.

Do you need reservations for Disney Springs restaurants?

For popular table-service restaurants, yes, especially on evenings, weekends and holidays. Disney’s reservation window opens 60 days ahead, and some restaurants require a credit card guarantee with a per-person charge for late cancellations. Counter-service spots don’t need reservations, and several take mobile orders in the My Disney Experience app. Park at least an hour before your booking.

Bottom line

Disney Springs is one of the easiest Disney experiences to fit into an Orlando trip: free entry, free parking and late hours, with Drawn to Life, the balloon and lakefront dining to fill an evening. Book popular tables and Cirque seats ahead, arrive an hour early, and remember that Disney’s buses and boats from Disney Springs serve Disney resort guests and reservation holders. To walk over every night, stay in the Disney Springs Resort Area, or compare more options in our guide to the best hotels near Disney World.
