Hotels in Winter Garden Florida fall into three very different pockets: resort-style suites and Disney Gateway hotels in the south, right by Walt Disney World’s western entrance; a handful of value hotels on State Road 50 at the north end, a few minutes from historic downtown; and almost nothing in between, in the newer Hamlin and Horizon West neighborhoods. Picking the right pocket matters more than picking the brand. Fees below come from official hotel pages at last check (some only as archived copies, noted where relevant); confirm them before you book.

Winter Garden’s 34787 ZIP code runs from Plant Street all the way down to the edge of Disney property, about 16 to 18 miles by road, so two hotels with the same city name can be half an hour apart. Below, they are sorted by where they actually sit.

Quick answer: For a Disney trip, The Grove Resort & Water Park Orlando is the pick if you want two- and three-bedroom condos and a water park, while Residence Inn and Homewood Suites at Flamingo Crossings are the closest to the parks, with free breakfast and Disney shuttles. For downtown Winter Garden, the West Orange Trail or family visits, stay on SR 50 at Home2 Suites Winter Garden, Hampton Inn Ocoee or Fairfield Ocoee, all with free parking and breakfast. Golfers who want quiet can look north to Siena at Bella Collina.

Where hotels in Winter Garden Florida actually are

Think of Winter Garden as a long north-south strip on the west side of Orange County, with State Road 429 running down its length.

  • Downtown and SR 50 (north): historic Plant Street, the West Orange Trail and the Saturday farmers market. The chain hotels here sit on West Colonial Drive (SR 50), on the Winter Garden–Ocoee line, about 3 to 4 miles from downtown.
  • Hamlin and Horizon West (middle): newer neighborhoods built around Hamlin Town Center’s shops and restaurants. When we checked, we did not find a hotel operating inside Hamlin Town Center itself.
  • Flamingo Crossings and The Grove (south): both have Winter Garden addresses but sit next to Disney’s western edge, about 16 to 18 miles by road from downtown Winter Garden.

If you’re still deciding between this side of town and areas like Lake Buena Vista, Kissimmee or International Drive, start with our guide to the best areas to stay in Orlando.

How we chose these hotels

We kept the seven hotels in and just outside Winter Garden that make the most sense for visitors, and checked:

  • Location: which part of Winter Garden it is in, with road distances to the parks calculated on OSRM routing (rounded, and they vary with traffic).
  • Verified amenities: room types, kitchens, pools and breakfast as listed on the official site.
  • Value: what is included and what costs extra, especially resort fees and parking.
  • Transport: whether the hotel runs a theme park shuttle and how you book it.

Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.

Figures are from each hotel’s official page at last check. None of the SR 50 hotels or the Flamingo Crossings pair listed a resort fee; The Grove does charge one. Hilton’s own description says Walt Disney World is a 16-mile drive and Universal 12 miles. By road we found Universal closer to 14 miles and the Magic Kingdom parking area about 23 miles, so plan on 25 minutes to Universal and 35 or more to the Disney parks.

7. Siena at Bella Collina

Lakefront pool lit up at night with loungers and umbrellas at Siena at Bella Collina in Montverde

Siena is the upscale wildcard: condo-style suites inside the gated Bella Collina community in Montverde, in Lake County, about 13 miles by road from downtown Winter Garden. The official site lists two-bedroom suites of 1,400 square feet, two-bedroom-plus-den suites and three-bedroom suites of 1,600 square feet, each with a fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer, a formal dining area for six and a balcony.

Guests get a private lakefront pool and fitness center, plus access to The Club at Bella Collina for walking trails, tennis, a full-service spa, the 19th Hole restaurant (breakfast, lunch and dinner daily) and a Nick Faldo-designed championship golf course.

Staying near downtown Winter Garden

Downtown Winter Garden is the reason many people search for this town: a walkable historic main street with restaurants and shops along Plant Street, and the paved West Orange Trail running right down the middle of it. Orange County lists 22.32 miles of paved trail through Killarney, Oakland, Winter Garden and Apopka, open sunrise to sunset, with bike rentals at the Winter Garden Station (455 E. Plant St.).

The city’s Winter Garden Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm at the Downtown Pavilion, 104 S. Lakeview Avenue.

At the time of writing, no hotel is operating in downtown itself. The city’s downtown site still lists the historic Edgewater Hotel at 99 W. Plant Street, but the 1920s hotel closed in August 2025, and a statement on its website said new owners plan to restore it; we found no reopening date. The same city page lists Hotel Winter Garden, a boutique hotel of about 60 rooms planned at 8 N. Highland Avenue with a pool, restaurant and bar. The local Orange Observer reported that it broke ground in July 2026, with construction expected to take about 18 months, so it is not an option for trips in the near future.

Drive times from Winter Garden to the parks and airport

Where you stay in Winter Garden changes your drive more than anything else. These are rounded road distances from OSRM routing; real times depend on traffic and park parking lines.

  • Parking at the parks: Disney lists standard theme park parking at $35 per day, and Universal’s parking was $35 including tax at last check. Add your hotel’s own parking charge if it has one.
  • Tolls: the fastest routes from Winter Garden often use toll roads such as SR 429 and the Turnpike. Our guide to Orlando toll roads explains how to pay them in a rental car.
  • Disney perks: none of these hotels is on Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry list. Disney’s Good Neighbor and Gateway labels are hotel programs, not extra time in the parks.

How to choose a hotel in Winter Garden

  • Disney is the main event: stay south, at Flamingo Crossings or The Grove. You typically save 15 minutes or more each way compared with SR 50.
  • Universal or a split trip: the SR 50 hotels are actually closer to Universal than to Disney, and they put downtown Winter Garden on your doorstep.
  • Big group: The Grove’s condos, Siena’s two- and three-bedroom suites or Residence Inn’s two-bedroom suites. For more space, see our guide to Orlando vacation homes with a private pool.
  • Watching costs: the three SR 50 hotels list free parking and free breakfast; The Grove adds a resort fee plus parking, and Flamingo Crossings charges for parking but includes breakfast. Our list of Orlando hotels with free parking has more options.
  • No car: stick to hotels with a published shuttle (The Grove, Residence Inn, Homewood) and book seats as soon as the window opens.

A few miles farther west, our guide to hotels in Clermont covers the hotels around the lakes, the Citrus Tower and the National Training Center.

Frequently asked questions

Are there hotels in downtown Winter Garden?

Not at the moment. The historic Edgewater Hotel on Plant Street closed in August 2025 and its new owners say they plan to restore it, with no reopening date announced, and the boutique Hotel Winter Garden on Highland Avenue only broke ground in July 2026. The nearest hotels are Home2 Suites Winter Garden, Hampton Inn Ocoee and Fairfield Ocoee on SR 50, about 3 to 4 miles from Plant Street.

How far is Winter Garden from Disney World?

It depends on which part you mean. Flamingo Crossings hotels are less than a mile from Disney’s western entrance and about 5 miles by road from Animal Kingdom. The Grove is about 7 miles from Animal Kingdom. Downtown Winter Garden and the SR 50 hotels are roughly 18 to 23 miles from the Disney parks, usually 25 to 40 minutes by car.

Is Winter Garden a good place to stay for Disney World?

The southern edge is. Flamingo Crossings and The Grove are among the closest off-site hotels to Animal Kingdom, with park shuttles and suites. The northern part, around downtown and SR 50, is better for Universal, downtown Orlando or a relaxed trip, since the Disney parks are roughly 25 to 40 minutes away and those hotels list no shuttle.

Which Winter Garden hotels have free parking?

At last check, Home2 Suites by Hilton Winter Garden, Hampton Inn by Hilton Ocoee Orlando and Fairfield Inn & Suites Orlando Ocoee all listed complimentary self-parking, and all three include breakfast. The Grove charges $35 plus tax per vehicle per night on top of its resort fee, and the Flamingo Crossings hotels charge around $17 to $20 per day.

Do Winter Garden hotels have shuttles to the theme parks?

Some do. The Grove includes transportation to Walt Disney World, Universal and SeaWorld in its resort fee, with reservations required. Residence Inn and Homewood Suites at Flamingo Crossings describe free scheduled Disney shuttles with limited seats. The SR 50 hotels and Siena at Bella Collina do not list park shuttles, so plan on a car or rideshare.

Bottom line

The best hotels in Winter Garden Florida depend on which end of town fits your trip. Go south to The Grove or Flamingo Crossings for Disney days, suites and park shuttles; stay on SR 50 at Home2 Suites, Hampton Inn or Fairfield for free parking, easy Universal access and downtown Winter Garden evenings; and pick Siena at Bella Collina for golf and quiet. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.
