The best hotels near Animal Kingdom with shuttle service are the Walt Disney World Dolphin, whose complimentary buses leave about every 20 to 25 minutes, and Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando, whose free shuttle listed 13 Animal Kingdom departures a day in late October 2026. Signia by Hilton and two hotels by Disney Springs add hourly or near-hourly buses, and five hotels in Flamingo Crossings and off US-192 run one morning bus.

Many hotel shuttles skip Animal Kingdom, so we list only hotels whose operator schedule showed a run to this park for sample dates from October 26 to November 7, 2026 (checked October 26). Times are samples that change with park hours; confirm them at the front desk.

Quick answer: For the most Animal Kingdom buses, book the Walt Disney World Dolphin: buses about every 20 to 25 minutes, Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours. For value, Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando runs 13 free, first-come buses a day, with rides back until 7:40 p.m., and charges no resort fee. For the shortest drive, Holiday Inn Resort Kissimmee by the Parks is about 2.2 miles from the parking entrance and runs one bus at 8:35 a.m., back at 5:45 p.m. IHG calls it free, but a resort fee applies.

How we chose these hotels

  • A confirmed Animal Kingdom run: the hotel’s own page promises a Disney shuttle, and the operator’s booking system or posted timetable listed an Animal Kingdom departure at our check. Hotels whose Disney buses skip this park are not on the list.
  • Ranked by service: hotels with buses all day come first. Hotels with one bus a day follow, in order of departure time.
  • Distances: our OSRM road routes on public roads to Animal Kingdom’s guest parking entrance, out and back, without traffic.
  • Costs: resort fees and parking come from official pages, or from Booking.com’s price breakdown for a sample stay when the hotel publishes no amount. We use no scores or room prices; rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.

How hotel shuttles to Animal Kingdom work

Off-site hotel buses stop at Animal Kingdom itself, in the charter bus area, not at Magic Kingdom’s Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). Note the pickup sign for the ride back: lanes 3 to 10 of the Charter Bus Lot for Fabulous Buses, Space 3 or 4 for Signia’s buses, and the green canopy in the Charter Bus Area for Drury.

  • Short fall days: on Disney’s calendar, Animal Kingdom opened at 8 a.m. on every date we checked from October 26 to November 7, 2026. It closed at 6 p.m. on many weekdays, such as October 28 and November 4, and at 7 or 8 p.m. on other dates, including the weekends we checked.
  • Early Theme Park Entry: it started at 7:30 a.m. for guests of Disney Resort hotels and 15 other hotels, including the first five picks below. Disney lists Avatar Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest, Na’vi River Journey and Zootopia: Better Zoogether! for that half hour.
  • One bus back: picks 6 to 10 appear in the booking system of Firefighters All Services. Its only Animal Kingdom return left at 5:45 p.m. on every date we checked, even when the park stayed open until 8 p.m. It takes bookings up to 24 hours ahead and, at our check, warned of 10- to 15-minute road-work delays.

1. Walt Disney World Dolphin

The Dolphin stands between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios on Disney property, about 3.1 miles by road from Animal Kingdom’s parking entrance (3.7 miles back). It is not a Disney Resort hotel, but Disney lists it for Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours, and the resort includes standard theme park parking. Read our Walt Disney World Dolphin review.

  • Why stay: no timetable to plan around. The resort says buses leave the main entrance about every 20 to 25 minutes for Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom (via the TTC) and Disney Springs, until 45 minutes after the parks close.
  • Getting there / to the parks: the resort mentions no reservation step, and water taxis and walkways serve EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Animal Kingdom’s Extended Evening Hours, 6 to 8 p.m., were scheduled on Wednesdays from November 4 through at least December 23, 2026, the last date on Disney’s calendar. The resort does not say whether buses wait for them, so ask at the Disney desk. The Walt Disney World Swan and Swan Reserve share the buses, as our Swan vs Dolphin vs Swan Reserve comparison explains.
  • Good to know: a mandatory resort service package costs $50 plus tax a day, and self-parking $40 plus tax a day (valet $51 to $61). Each extra adult costs $35 plus tax a night.

Best for: Animal Kingdom buses all day, plus walk-or-boat days at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

The buses are free, you don’t reserve, and there is no resort fee. Read our Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando review.

  • Why stay: Early Theme Park Entry with a first bus 45 minutes before it starts, a free hot breakfast from 6 to 10 a.m. and the free 5:30 Kickback with snacks and drinks.

  • Good to know: self-parking only, at $28 a night on the hotel-information page and $25 plus tax in the FAQ. Up to two pets with a combined weight of 80 pounds cost $50 a day plus tax.

Shuttle or drive to Animal Kingdom?

Disney charged $35 a day for standard theme park parking, tax included, at the time of writing, and $50, $55 or $60 for preferred parking. Dolphin guests get standard parking included, the resort says. Drive or use a rideshare if you want a midday pool break from a one-bus hotel, or the last hour of an 8 p.m. closing. Our Animal Kingdom tips explain how to plan the first hour.

How to choose a hotel with an Animal Kingdom shuttle

Frequently asked questions

Which hotels near Animal Kingdom have a free shuttle?

Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando – Disney Springs Area runs free Animal Kingdom buses with no reservations and no resort fee: 13 departures a day in late October 2026. SpringHill Suites, Residence Inn and Holiday Inn Resort Kissimmee by the Parks showed one free bus a day in the operator’s system, but the Holiday Inn Resort charged a $17.50 nightly resort fee on Booking.com. At the other picks, a resort fee or package applies.

Where do hotel shuttles drop you off at Animal Kingdom?

Off-site hotel shuttles stop at Animal Kingdom itself, in the charter bus area, not at the Transportation and Ticket Center. Operators name the pickup spot for the ride back, such as lanes 3 to 10 of the Charter Bus Lot (Fabulous Buses), Space 3 or 4 (Signia) or the green canopy in the Charter Bus Area (Drury). Margaritaville’s page says Charter Bus Parking. Photograph the sign when you arrive.

What time is the last shuttle back from Animal Kingdom?

It depends on the hotel and the park hours. On our sample dates, the one-bus hotels in Kissimmee and Flamingo Crossings returned at 5:45 p.m., even when the park stayed open until 8 p.m. On a 6 p.m. closing day, the last rides back were at 7 p.m. (Buena Vista Palace), 7:10 p.m. (Signia), 7:30 p.m. (Holiday Inn Disney Springs) and 7:40 p.m. (Drury). The Dolphin’s buses run until 45 minutes after closing.

Can I use a hotel shuttle for Early Theme Park Entry at Animal Kingdom?

Yes, from the hotels on Disney’s Early Entry list. Early entry started at 7:30 a.m. on our sample dates. The first Animal Kingdom buses left Signia at 6:30 a.m., the Buena Vista Palace at 6:35 a.m., Drury at 6:45 a.m. and Holiday Inn Disney Springs at 7 a.m. The Dolphin’s buses run about every 20 to 25 minutes. The Kissimmee and Flamingo Crossings picks do not get Early Entry.

Do I need to reserve my hotel’s Animal Kingdom shuttle?

At most hotels, yes. The Buena Vista Palace and Holiday Inn Disney Springs say reservations are required. The Kissimmee and Flamingo Crossings picks appear in the booking system of Firefighters All Services, which takes bookings up to 24 hours ahead, and Margaritaville issues vouchers. Drury’s buses are first come, first served, and the Dolphin and Signia mention no booking step. Arrive about 10 minutes early wherever you stay.

Do all hotel shuttles to Disney go to Animal Kingdom?

No. On October 28, 2026, the booking system of Firefighters All Services, which runs shuttles for many hotels along US-192 and in Flamingo Crossings, listed Animal Kingdom runs for only 15 of its 29 hotels with Disney trips. The others went to Magic Kingdom’s Transportation and Ticket Center and, in most cases, Hollywood Studios. Check that the schedule includes Animal Kingdom before you book.

Bottom line

For the most Animal Kingdom buses, book the Walt Disney World Dolphin. For value, Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando runs 13 free buses a day, with rides back until 7:40 p.m., and charges no resort fee. Signia and the two Disney Springs Resort Area hotels add hourly or near-hourly service with Early Entry. If one bus back at 5:45 p.m. is enough, the Flamingo Crossings and US-192 picks sit about 2 to 5 miles from the parking entrance. See available rooms at Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando
