Holiday Inn & Suites Orlando SW Celebration Area is a 444-room IHG hotel on US-192 in Kissimmee, across the highway from Old Town and about 4.5 road miles from Hollywood Studios. It suits budget-minded families who want free parking, free buses to Disney and Universal, and a Kids Eat Free program at the hotel’s restaurants.

The catch is a nightly fee that IHG’s own pages do not mention: Booking.com added a $15 resort fee plus 13.5% tax on every sample stay we priced. Below, we check that fee, the shuttle times, the rooms and the real road distances.

Quick answer: Book the Holiday Inn SW for a split Disney and Universal trip if you can plan around fixed bus times and want free parking on driving days. Budget $15 a night plus tax for the Booking.com resort fee. Look elsewhere for Early Theme Park Entry, a bus to EPCOT or Animal Kingdom, water slides or a full kitchen.

Location: Old Town, US-192 and the parks

The hotel sits on West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway (US-192), east of the main Disney entrances. Despite the “Celebration Area” name, it is in Kissimmee. Market Street in the town of Celebration is about 2.4 road miles away.

IHG says the hotel is “less than three miles” from Walt Disney World, and Disney’s Good Neighbor listing says “four miles”. Neither figure is the drive to a park’s parking lot. Public-road routing gives these one-way distances:

DestinationRoad distanceFree hotel shuttle
Hollywood Studios parkingAbout 4.5 to 5 miYes, 11:30 a.m.
Animal Kingdom parkingAbout 5.5 to 6 miNo
Disney Springs garagesAbout 6 to 7 miNo run in the operator’s system

Universal’s garagesAbout 12 to 14 miYes, 7:25 a.m.
Orlando International Airport (MCO)About 19 to 21 mi, on toll roadsNo airport shuttle (IHG)

Old Town is the main draw. Its official site lists shops, restaurants, rides and car shows. On foot, it is about 0.5 to 0.6 mile to the middle of Old Town. The route crosses busy US-192 at a traffic signal, so take care with children and after dark. Our guide to hotels near Old Town Kissimmee compares the other hotels within walking distance.

Rooms and suites: who they sleep

IHG lists a 32-inch TV, a mini-fridge, a coffee maker, a safe, a hair dryer, an iron and free Wi-Fi in every room. Disney’s listing adds that most rooms have balconies and that corridors are interior. IHG sells four categories:

IHG categorySizeBedsMay include
Standard RoomsFrom 292 sq ft2 queen beds, 1 king bed, or 1 queen bed and 1 bunk bedSingle sofa bed
Premium Rooms292 sq ft1 king bedSofa bed
Suite296 to 459 sq ft1 king bed or 1 queen bedSofa bed
One Bedroom Suite648 sq ft1 king bedSofa bed

The Kids Rooms are the family pick: Disney’s listing describes a queen-size bed for the parents and a bunk bed for the children. Booking.com uses other room names, and none on our sample dates mentioned a bunk bed, so ask the hotel before you book one.

Booking.com’s room data allowed up to four adults in two-queen rooms and in suites with a sofa bed, and two in king rooms without one. Cribs are free on request for children up to 2, per Booking.com; IHG and Disney say rollaway beds cost extra.

The hotel’s photos show two room styles: white bedding with a yellow accent wall, and red bed runners with striped carpet. Neither IHG nor Booking.com says which room types have which style, so ask.

Microwaves are a gray area. IHG lists no microwave, and Booking.com’s fine print says “only the Executive King Room includes microwaves”, yet the hotel’s photos on Booking.com show suite kitchenettes with a microwave and a sink. If you need one, confirm it for your room type.

For accessibility, IHG lists 14 accessible rooms with transfer shower seats and bathroom handrails. Booking.com sells mobility-access and hearing-accessible king rooms.

Pool, cabanas and recreation

IHG describes one heated outdoor pool, a separate children’s pool and a hot tub, with pool hours of 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. It also mentions private cabanas and poolside snacks and cocktails. Disney’s listing calls the kids’ pool “oversized” and adds a children’s playground.

Booking.com’s description mentions two outdoor pools; IHG’s FAQ says one plus the children’s pool. Neither IHG nor Disney mentions a water slide, lazy river or splash pad. IHG publishes no cabana price, so ask the front desk.

Golfers can play Falcon’s Fire Golf Club, an 18-hole public course that IHG places 1.63 miles away.

Dining, breakfast and Kids Eat Free

Trattoria Café serves a hot and cold breakfast buffet every day from 6 to 10 a.m., per IHG. In the evening, Chianti’s Lounge serves salads, sandwiches and burgers with cocktails, beer and wine, and IHG mentions a poolside patio and a nightly happy hour. Disney’s listing describes the restaurant as a food court concept.

IHG’s pages give three different lounge hours (4 to 11 p.m., 4 to 10 p.m. and 5 to 11 p.m.), and Booking.com says Trattoria Café also serves lunch and dinner, while IHG lists breakfast only. Check at check-in.

Breakfast is not included unless your rate says so. Booking.com priced the buffet at US$12.49 per person per night, and its “Breakfast Included” rates cover two adults only. IHG’s Family Getaway package includes breakfast for the whole family, but only when you book with IHG.

Kids Eat Free needs care. IHG’s dining page says kids under 12 eat free in one place, and “up to two children under 11” per adult main-menu order in another. IHG’s US brand terms say 11 and under, registered guests only, from the kids’ menu with an adult ordering a full-price main course, and not on group, travel industry or corporate rates. Confirm that your Booking.com rate qualifies. Our list of Orlando hotels where kids eat free compares the other programs.

Parking, resort fee and taxes

IHG lists “Complimentary daily self parking” in an outdoor lot with 312 spaces. RVs and trucks are allowed, semi-trucks are not, and bus parking is only for groups with confirmed reservations. Booking.com also lists free parking.

The fee is the part to watch. IHG’s pages mention no resort fee. Booking.com’s price breakdown showed one on all three sample stays we priced: November 18-20, 2026, December 10-13, 2026, and January 12-14, 2027.

ChargeIHG’s pagesBooking.com

BreakfastBuffet; included in some IHG packagesUS$12.49 per person per night unless included

Booking.com applied its 13.5% tax line to the room rate and the fee together. Here is a worked example with those published figures. On a five-night stay, the fee is 5 × $15 = $75, plus $10.13 tax, so $85.13 before the room rate. Two adults who buy breakfast every morning add 10 × US$12.49 = $124.90.

Free parking still helps: on driving days you pay only the park’s $35 standard parking (tax included at both Disney and Universal), and on shuttle days nothing. Our guide to cheap hotels in Kissimmee compares this fee with other US-192 hotels.

Free shuttle to Disney and Universal: times and limits

IHG advertises a “complimentary shuttle service to Disney, Epic Universe Orlando, and Universal Orlando” and tells guests to check the schedule at the front desk. The operator, Firefighters All Services, showed the same free runs ($0.00) in its booking system on November 18 and December 12, 2026, and January 13, 2027.

DestinationLeaves hotelReturn pickup
Magic Kingdom (Transportation and Ticket Center)8:35 a.m.9:00 p.m.
Hollywood Studios11:30 a.m.8:45 p.m.
Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure7:25 a.m.7:15 p.m.
Epic Universe7:25 a.m.7:00 p.m.

There is no run to EPCOT, Animal Kingdom or Disney Springs, although Disney’s listing mentions Disney Springs. The Magic Kingdom bus stops at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). From there, take the ferry or a monorail to Magic Kingdom, or the EPCOT Monorail to EPCOT. On October 28, 2026, the operator also warned of 10- to 15-minute delays from road work.

Disney’s calendar for November 18, 2026 showed Magic Kingdom open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., Hollywood Studios 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Animal Kingdom 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Early Theme Park Entry started 30 minutes earlier for eligible hotels, and this hotel is not one of them. Use these rules:

  • Magic Kingdom at opening: drive and leave early. The 8:35 a.m. bus has an 8-mile ride to the TTC, and then you still need the ferry or monorail, so it is unlikely to get you to the gate by 9 a.m.
  • Hollywood Studios: the 11:30 a.m. bus suits a late start. On November 18, the 8:45 p.m. return was 15 minutes before the park’s 9 p.m. close.
  • Special ticketed event nights: on November 19 and 20, 2026, Magic Kingdom’s regular hours ended at 6 p.m. for a special ticketed event, three hours before the 9 p.m. bus.
  • Universal and Epic Universe: compare the 7:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. returns with Universal’s hours for your date.
  • EPCOT and Animal Kingdom: drive, about 7 and 5.5 miles. For bus mornings, compare our hotels near Animal Kingdom with a shuttle.

Our list of Kissimmee hotels with a Disney shuttle sets these times against nine other hotels.

Amenities and services

  • Fitness center: open 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., with a treadmill, an elliptical and a stationary bike (IHG).
  • Family extras: a 24-hour game room (IHG) and a playground (Disney’s listing).
  • Everyday needs: self-service laundry, a convenience store and a 24-hour business center (IHG), plus car rental (Disney’s listing).
  • Wi-Fi and housekeeping: free Wi-Fi. IHG lists “limited housekeeping”, so ask how often your room is serviced.
  • Languages: IHG lists English, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish at the hotel.
  • Events: 3,743 sq ft of space with four meeting rooms and a ballroom (IHG). IHG gives the ballroom 250 guests on one page and 200 on another.
  • Policies: check-in at 4 p.m., check-out at 11 a.m., minimum check-in age 21, smoke-free hotel, and only service animals allowed (IHG). Booking.com says the hotel does not accept cash.

Who the Holiday Inn SW suits

It works best for families with children under 12 who will eat some meals at the hotel, drive on some days and ride the bus on others. Adults who want Old Town’s restaurants and car shows on foot will like the address.

It suits you less if you want to reach every park at opening by bus, need Early Theme Park Entry, travel with a pet or are under 21.

Pros

  • Free self-parking, with room for RVs and trucks.
  • Free buses to Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Universal and Epic Universe.
  • Kids Rooms with a bunk bed, and one-bedroom suites of 648 sq ft.
  • Kids Eat Free at the hotel’s restaurants, with conditions.
  • Heated pool, children’s pool, hot tub, cabanas and a playground.
  • Old Town across the road; Hollywood Studios about 4.5 miles away.

Limitations to know

  • A US$15 nightly resort fee plus tax on Booking.com, which IHG’s pages do not mention.
  • Breakfast is extra unless your rate includes it.
  • One bus a day to each destination, and no run to EPCOT, Animal Kingdom or Disney Springs.
  • Not on Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry list.
  • No water slide, lazy river or splash pad is listed.
  • Room styles vary, and microwaves are not in every room.
  • Minimum check-in age 21, a US$100 damage deposit and no pets.

What to check before you book

  • The total price: add $15 a night and 13.5% tax to the room rate on Booking.com’s final screen.
  • Breakfast: check whether your rate says “breakfast included”, and remember that it covers two adults.
  • Kids Eat Free: ask whether your rate qualifies.
  • The room: confirm a bunk bed, sofa bed or microwave if you need one.
  • The shuttle: reserve seats at the front desk and compare return times with park hours.
  • Payment: bring photo ID and a credit card for the US$100 deposit.
