Wyndham Garden vs. Wyndham Lake Buena Vista: two hotels, one complex
The resort at 1850 Hotel Plaza Blvd is really two hotels. Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista has the low-rise courtyard buildings, and the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista is the 19-story tower next door. As part of this two-hotel complex, Wyndham Garden guests have access to the same Oasis pool area, restaurants, Good Game Arcade and fitness center as tower guests. Both hotels appear on Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry list and use the same shuttle and resort-fee setup.

Tip: Wyndham Garden rooms (in two five-story buildings around the courtyard, with exterior entrances) are great for quick access to the pool; the Disney-view tower rooms belong to the sister Wyndham Lake Buena Vista and are booked separately. Because the two names are easy to confuse, check the hotel name on your confirmation before you pay.
Location: walking to Disney Springs
Unlike many hotels where you need a car, bus or rideshare to reach Disney Springs, the Wyndham is a short walk away. A pedestrian bridge just to the right of the resort’s main entrance takes you across the street to Disney Springs in about 5-7 minutes, according to the hotel.
That figure is to the nearest part of Disney Springs. The Marketplace (east) end is closest: walking to World of Disney is about 0.6 miles, or roughly 12 minutes. Allow extra time if you’re heading to the West Side at the far end.
Disney Springs has well over 100 shops, restaurants and entertainment venues, so walking over for dinner, a late snack or souvenir shopping and walking back is the main reason to stay here. Standard parking in the Disney Springs garages is free, so the walk saves you time and hassle rather than a parking fee.
Getting to the Disney parks (and Universal)
The hotel’s complimentary theme park shuttle runs hourly to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, starting 90 minutes before each park opens and running until 90 minutes after it closes. Reservations are required, and you get the schedule at check-in. There is no service to the water parks or to special events such as after-hours parties, and if you need wheelchair or scooter transportation you must ask at least 48 hours ahead. Schedules change, so check the current details at the front desk.
Because departures are hourly, compare the first shuttle of the day with the park’s opening time if you plan to use Early Entry. Driving or a rideshare gives you more flexibility for the morning, and the shuttle can still handle the ride back.

If you drive to the theme parks, you pay Disney’s daily parking charge (standard parking was $35 per day at the time of writing), because the free theme park parking perk for Disney Resort hotel guests doesn’t apply here. The hotel runs no shuttle to Universal, SeaWorld or the airport. For MCO, it suggests Mears Connect, a taxi or rideshare, and it lists an Enterprise car rental partnership if you want a car for a Universal or SeaWorld day.

As an Official Walt Disney World Hotel, Wyndham Garden gets some Disney benefits, but not the full set that Disney-owned resorts get. Disney changes these rules from time to time, so check current terms before you plan around any of them.

- Early Theme Park Entry: 30 minutes early at all four theme parks every day of your stay, including check-in and check-out days. Rooms at Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista
Wyndham Garden rooms are in two five-story, courtyard-style buildings with exterior corridors, so many rooms look out over the landscaped courtyard or the Oasis pool. The hotel sells four room categories:
- Pool View Two Double Beds: views of the Oasis pool, courtyard and lake, with an exterior entrance.
- Courtyard View Two Doubles: the same two-double setup, facing the courtyard.
- King: one king bed, a good fit for couples; Booking.com shows some king rooms with a sofa bed.
- Accessible One Queen: an accessible room with one queen bed.
Booking.com also lists mobility-access and roll-in-shower rooms and some lake-view versions of the two-double rooms. No Wyndham Garden room type is marketed as a Disney view; if that matters to you, the Disney View rooms in the sister tower are the ones to book.
The official site doesn’t publish occupancy limits. Booking.com lists the two-double rooms and the lake-view king with a sofa bed for up to 4 guests, and the other king and accessible queen rooms for 2-3, so confirm the limit for your rate before you book.
Every room has:
- A 55-inch HDTV and Wi-Fi (premium Wi-Fi is included in the resort fee)
- A refrigerator with a freezer
- A coffee/tea maker
- An in-room laptop safe
- A hair dryer, plus an iron and ironing board
- An alarm clock with USB charging
Things to know before you book:
- No microwave in the room: guests can use one at Sundial 24-7, which is open 24 hours.
- No rollaways or cots: the hotel doesn’t provide them, and Booking.com says no extra beds are available.
- Cribs: Pack ‘n Plays are free on request.
- Exterior corridors: rooms open onto outdoor walkways, which makes pool runs easy but means there is no indoor hallway.
- No personal appliances: guests may not bring their own.
Families of 5 or more should book two rooms or look at rooms that sleep 5 or 6 at Disney World and Universal.
Pools and things to do
The Oasis Aquatic Pool area, shared with the sister tower, is the resort’s biggest draw. The centerpiece is a 189,000-gallon heated pool with a rock waterfall, alongside a smaller cool-down pool with extra loungers and an elevated hot tub overlooking the lake and pool.
For younger kids, the zero-entry Aquatic Pool Playground has interactive water features and a tipping bucket. Cabanas can be rented on a first-come, first-served basis, and there’s a sun deck and a fire pit. The pool area is open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the time of writing, and pool towels are provided.
Beyond the pool, the resort has:
- Sports courts: sand volleyball and basketball, first come, first served, with equipment from the Oasis Restaurant; included in the resort fee.
- Fitness center: on the lobby level, with cardio machines and weights.
- Good Game Arcade: on the lobby level, with more than 30 arcade games and prize tickets, a hit with kids and teenagers.
- Guest laundry: card-operated and open 24/7.
- Business center: open 24/7.
Dining and breakfast (not included)
Meals are not included in the room rate. The resort does not currently advertise a Disney character breakfast. Instead, the LakeView Restaurant serves an all-American breakfast buffet with Mickey waffles, plus an à la carte menu, every morning, a relaxed way to eat before a park day. The hours below are the hotel’s listed hours and can change.

- Joffrey’s Coffee Shop (lobby): barista drinks, pastries and breakfast sandwiches, 6 a.m.-11 p.m.
