Getting from Orlando airport to Kissimmee takes about 30 to 40 minutes by car in light traffic: downtown Kissimmee is about 14.5 road miles south of Orlando International Airport (MCO), and the hotels along US-192 and Osceola Parkway are about 19 to 26 miles away, usually by way of the SR 417 toll road. You can take an Uber, Lyft or taxi, book a private car, rent a car or ride a $2 LYNX bus.
Don’t count on a free hotel van. No Kissimmee hotel appears on the airport’s list of hotels with complimentary shuttles. Mears Connect, the big shared shuttle, stops at only one Kissimmee resort, Gaylord Palms. Fares, tolls and timetables below come from the airport, LYNX, the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX), Mears and the hotels’ own pages, checked in October 2026. Confirm them before you fly.
This guide is the Kissimmee companion to our routes from the airport to Disney World, Universal and International Drive.
Quick answer: For most travelers, Uber or Lyft is the simplest way from MCO to Kissimmee: about 30 to 40 minutes door to door, with one price for the whole car. A taxi works the same way. The airport’s undated rate guide lists $45 to $75 for the Kissimmee hotels area, but the meter sets the fare. On a tight budget, LYNX FastLink 407 runs from the airport to downtown Kissimmee for $2 on weekdays and Saturdays, and a free transfer gets you along US-192. Driving? The fastest route is SR 417, with tolls of about $3.97 to $4.30 with a transponder or the Visitor Toll Pass.

How far is Kissimmee from Orlando airport?
Kissimmee spreads over many miles, so the answer depends on where your hotel is. We ran these road routes on OSRM from the Terminal A and B curb in October 2026:
| From MCO to | Road distance | Drive, light traffic | Fastest route |
|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown Kissimmee (SunRail station) | About 14.5 mi | About 30 min | Boggy Creek and Simpson Rds, no tolls |
| Gaylord Palms (Osceola Pkwy) | About 19 mi | About 32 min | SR 417 |
| Old Town (east US-192) | About 20 mi | About 31 min | SR 417 |
| Celebration town center | About 20.5 mi | About 32 min | SR 417 |
| Ramada Gateway (west US-192) | About 23-24 mi | About 36-38 min | SR 417, or SR 528 and I-4 |
| Margaritaville / Sunset Walk | About 25-25.5 mi | About 39-41 min | SR 417, or SR 528 and I-4 |
Terminal C sits on the airport’s south side, closer to SR 417, so it saves about 1.5 miles and 4 minutes. Rush-hour traffic on US-192 and I-4 can add a lot more than that.
Uber, Lyft and taxis from MCO to Kissimmee
A rideshare or taxi is the quickest door-to-door option. You pay per vehicle, so it gets better value the more of you there are.
- Uber and Lyft pickups: at Terminals A and B, on the Level 2 arrivals curb around the clock, plus the Level 3 departures curb from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. At Terminal C, on the Level 6 arrivals curb. Fares aren’t published: the app quotes a price before you book.
- Taxis: on Level 1 at Terminal A (spaces A22-A25) and Terminal B (B30-B34), and on the Level 6 arrivals curb at Terminal C. A cab carries up to nine people for the same fare and must run the meter; MCO says flat rates aren’t authorized.
- What a taxi costs: the airport’s approximate-rate table lists $45 to $75 to the Kissimmee hotels area. It carries no date, and MCO warns that metered fares may vary from it, so treat it as a rough guide and add a tip.
- Going home: rideshares drop off on the Level 3 departures curb at Terminals A and B and on Level 2 at Terminal C.
Is there a shuttle from Orlando airport to Kissimmee?
Only for a few hotels, and none of them free. Here’s what we found:
- Mears Connect: the 24-hour shared shuttle serves Walt Disney World’s resorts, the Disney Springs area hotels and a few other Disney-area hotels, more than 40 in all. Its list includes one Kissimmee resort, Gaylord Palms on Osceola Parkway; the return pickup is in the bus lanes at the Transportation Lobby. Fares are $17.60 per adult and $14.30 per child aged 3 to 9 from the airport, including a privilege fee recovery charge, plus a 6% fuel surcharge “until further notice.” Under-3s ride free. Mears checks you in on Level 1 at Terminal B (bus slots B91-B97) and on Level 1 at Terminal C, and says the ride takes 30 to 60 minutes. Our Gaylord Palms Resort guide covers the resort.
- Hotel shuttles: MCO’s list of hotels with complimentary airport transportation runs from the Hyatt Regency inside the terminal to a Lake Nona hotel 8.7 miles away; none is in Kissimmee. The airport’s rate table marks the hotel shuttle as “N/A” for the Kissimmee hotels area.
- What Kissimmee hotels say: IHG says Staybridge Suites Royale Parc has no airport shuttle, and the Ramada Kissimmee Gateway doesn’t list one. Margaritaville Resort Orlando’s FAQ contradicts itself: one answer says it “does not offer direct airport shuttle service” and recommends ride-hailing, another mentions “airport shuttle services for an additional charge.” Ask the concierge before you book.
- Shared vans: the airport’s rate table also shows a per-person “shuttle van” fare of $29/$49 for the Kissimmee area. It’s undated, and MCO says to ask the attendant for round-trip and children’s fares. MCO says shuttle vans load on Level 1 (A19-A21, B76-B78 and C200-C204), so ask the attendant whether one serves your hotel.
Private car services fill the gap. Mears, the airport’s ground transportation concessionaire, offers private cars to “all Orlando and area hotels,” and MCO lists many other permitted companies. Ask whether a quote includes the toll, tip and car seats.
LYNX buses from MCO to Kissimmee ($2)
LYNX buses leave from the A side of the main terminal, Level 1, at spaces A38-A41. Arriving at Terminal C? Ride the Terminal Link train, which runs every 4 minutes around the clock, to Terminals A and B, or take the 24-hour shuttle bus from Level 1 (space C272). A ride costs $2, and an all-day pass $4.50 if you ask the driver for it before paying. Ask for a transfer as you board: it’s free and valid for 90 minutes on a different Link.
- FastLink 407 (airport to downtown Kissimmee): it runs from MCO to the LYNX Kissimmee Intermodal Station on Pleasant Street, next to the SunRail and Amtrak station. On weekdays buses leave the airport at 6:59, 8:04 and 9:04 a.m., 2:05 and 3:05 p.m., and 6:07, 7:10 and 8:05 p.m., and the timetable gives 38 to 43 minutes to Kissimmee. Saturday buses leave at 6:50, 7:50 and 8:50 a.m., 1:51, 2:51, 5:56, 6:56 and 7:56 p.m. There’s no service on Sundays and holidays.
- Link 56 (along US-192): from the same Kissimmee station it runs west along US-192 past Old Town toward Walt Disney World, about every 30 minutes from early morning until 11 p.m. on weekdays. The timetable gives about 31 to 44 minutes to the US-192 and Old Town stop. Link 55 (West US-192/Four Corners) also runs west along US-192.

The fare can’t be beaten, but it’s a slow trip: with the transfer, plan on about 1.5 to 2 hours to a US-192 hotel, and you’ll wheel your bags from the stop to the lobby. Check the times for your day on LYNX’s site, because FastLink 407 runs only eight trips each way, in three blocks.
SunRail, the commuter train, doesn’t stop at the airport. MCO points riders to a bus link from its Sand Lake Road station, and SunRail says its trains run Monday to Friday. The train does stop at Kissimmee’s station at 320 Pleasant Street, about 500 feet from Historic Downtown Kissimmee and 0.3 miles from Lakefront Park, per SunRail.
Driving: SR 417, SR 528 or the toll-free route
At Terminals A and B you collect your rental car in the garage (Level R1, R2 or P1, depending on the brand); at Terminal C, in parking levels C1 or C2. For Kissimmee, leave by the airport’s South Access Road to SR 417 South, the Central Florida GreeneWay. Coming back on SR 417 north, the airport exit is signed together with Boggy Creek Road.

CFX’s toll calculator gave these figures for a two-axle car on October 16, 2026, starting at the Boggy Creek Road ramp, the airport’s own interchange on SR 417:
| From MCO | Transponder or Visitor Toll Pass | Pay by plate | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| SR 417 to Osceola Pkwy (exit 3) | $3.97 | $7.83 | Gaylord Palms, Old Town |
| SR 417 to Celebration Ave / US-192 | $4.02 | $8.13 | Celebration, west US-192 |
| SR 417 to I-4 | $4.30 | $8.38 | Hotels off I-4 |
| SR 528 west to I-4 | $2.24 | $2.54 | West US-192 via I-4 |
The Osceola Parkway figure includes a $0.53 ramp toll; leaving SR 417 one exit earlier, at International Dr / World Center Dr, costs $3.44 ($6.88 by plate). Paying by plate roughly doubles the SR 417 toll, so a transponder pays off on this route. The SR 528 option, the Beachline Expressway, then I-4 south to US-192, is cheaper and about as fast to the far western hotels such as the Ramada and Margaritaville, but I-4 is often congested. To avoid tolls, take Boggy Creek Road and Simpson Road south: it’s the fastest way to downtown Kissimmee anyway. To Old Town it adds about 2.5 miles and 15 minutes on US-192, and to Margaritaville about 3 miles and 15 minutes.
The Visitor Toll Pass, available only at MCO, is free to reserve in its app. You pay a $10 deposit that goes toward your tolls, collect the hangtag from a machine near the rental counters (Level 1 at Terminals A and B, Level 4 at Terminal C) and decline the rental company’s toll program. Return it to a drop box at the airport when you fly home; an unreturned pass costs the $10. Our guides to renting a car in Orlando and Orlando toll roads go deeper.
Allow extra time through 2027. MCO is replacing the Gate Link trams to Gates 70-129 from December 2025 through fall 2027. It asks travelers using rental cars or ground transportation to allow an extra 30 minutes in their pickup plans.
Where to stay in Kissimmee: areas compared
Kissimmee hotels fall into a few clusters, and the airport ride is a minor factor next to how close you’ll be to the parks:
- Downtown and the lakefront: the shortest and only toll-free fast drive from MCO, plus FastLink 407 and SunRail, but farther from Disney.
- Old Town and east US-192: walkable shops and restaurants, about 20 miles from the airport. Our list of hotels near Old Town Kissimmee compares the options.
- West US-192 and Sunset Walk: the closest hotels to Animal Kingdom and the farthest from the airport. See our hotels near Animal Kingdom and hotels near ESPN Wide World of Sports.
- Celebration: a quiet planned town south of US-192, about 20.5 miles from MCO on SR 417. Our best hotels in Celebration lists the picks.

Our best hotels in Kissimmee covers villa resorts and Reunion, and our list of Kissimmee hotels with a Disney shuttle has sample bus times. Three picks that make arrival day easy:

Frequently asked questions
How far is Kissimmee from Orlando airport?
About 14.5 road miles to downtown Kissimmee and 19 to 26 miles to the hotels on US-192 and Osceola Parkway, in our routes from Terminals A and B. That’s roughly 30 minutes to downtown, 31 to 32 minutes to Old Town or Gaylord Palms and about 40 minutes to Margaritaville without traffic. Terminal C saves a mile or two.
How much is a taxi or Uber from Orlando airport to Kissimmee?
Uber and Lyft don’t publish fixed fares; the app quotes a price before you book. Taxis are metered, and the airport’s undated rate guide lists $45 to $75 to the Kissimmee hotels area, plus tip. Both charge per vehicle, so a taxi carrying up to nine people costs the same as one carrying a single passenger.
Is there a shuttle from Orlando airport to Kissimmee?
Not a free one. No Kissimmee hotel is on MCO’s list of hotels with complimentary airport shuttles. Mears Connect serves Disney-area hotels plus Gaylord Palms, at $17.60 per adult one way plus a 6% fuel surcharge at the time of writing. For other hotels, book a private car, take a rideshare or taxi, or ask a shuttle-van attendant on Level 1.
Is there a bus from Orlando airport to Kissimmee?
Yes. LYNX FastLink 407 runs from Terminal A’s Level 1 (spaces A38-A41) to the Kissimmee Intermodal Station downtown for $2, taking about 40 minutes. It makes eight trips each way on weekdays and Saturdays and none on Sundays. A free transfer to Link 56 continues along US-192 past Old Town about every 30 minutes.
How much are the tolls from Orlando airport to Kissimmee?
On SR 417, CFX’s calculator gave $3.97 to $4.30 with a transponder or the Visitor Toll Pass, depending on your exit, and $7.83 to $8.38 by plate in October 2026. SR 528 to I-4 costs $2.24 or $2.54. To skip tolls entirely, take Boggy Creek Road, which is also the fastest way to downtown Kissimmee.
Bottom line
For most trips from Orlando airport to Kissimmee, a rideshare or taxi is the easy choice: 30 to 40 minutes and one fare for the group. Drivers should carry a transponder or Visitor Toll Pass for SR 417, budget travelers with light bags can use FastLink 407, and Gaylord Palms guests can book Mears Connect. Stay near Old Town for a shorter ride and walkable evenings.
