Most of the best hotels near ESPN Wide World of Sports are 3 to 5 miles by road from the complex’s main parking lot, on Osceola Parkway, in Bonnet Creek and along US-192 near Old Town and Celebration. Disney’s own Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach and Pop Century resorts are closer still, about 1.5 to 2.5 miles away.

This guide is for youth sports families, coaches and team managers, so beyond distance we looked at what makes a tournament weekend easier: suites for five or six, kitchens, free breakfast, laundry for uniforms and parking costs when every family drives.

We checked every hotel on official pages in October 2026; distances are OSRM road routes to the complex’s main parking area. Fees change, so confirm them when you book.

Quick answer: For most team families, Staybridge Suites Orlando Royale Parc Suites is the best all-rounder: full kitchens, two-bedroom suites, free breakfast and $10 parking, about 4 miles away. On a tight budget, Comfort Suites Maingate East includes breakfast with no resort fee and $10 parking. For several families sharing, book a condo at Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek or a cottage at Margaritaville Resort Orlando. Check your event’s housing rules first: the 2027 Disney Cup International is stay-to-play.

Where ESPN Wide World of Sports is and which areas are closest

The 220-acre complex is at 700 S. Victory Way, Kissimmee, FL 34747, on the south side of Walt Disney World, reached from Osceola Parkway. The shortest drives come from:

  • Disney’s own resorts: Art of Animation is about 1.5 miles by road, Caribbean Beach and Pop Century about 2 miles, the All-Star resorts 3 to 4 miles.
  • Osceola Parkway and Bonnet Creek: Gaylord Palms (about 3 miles) and Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek (about 3.5 miles).
  • US-192 near Old Town and Celebration: suite and value hotels 4 to 5 miles away, near restaurants and grocery stores.
  • Flamingo Crossings: roughly 7 miles away by Disney’s western entrance; see our Flamingo Crossings hotels guide if rooms closer in are full.

Without traffic, most hotels below are 10 to 15 minutes from the fields; leave extra time for morning theme park traffic.

Do you have to book through Disney? Tournament housing rules

Check this before you reserve anything, because rules differ by event:

  • Stay-to-play: the 2027 Disney Cup International (July 23 to 26, 2027) requires teams based more than 90 miles’ driving distance from the complex to stay at an official tournament hotel booked through Disney Sports Travel, or the team is removed from the tournament. Teams within 90 miles are exempt.
  • No requirement, but packages: Disney’s other 2026-27 soccer events (Season Kickoff, Junior and Girls Soccer Showcases, Presidents Day and Memorial Day) have no stay-to-play requirement, but Disney Sports Travel sells packages; for the October 2026 Season Kickoff they start at two nights at a Disney resort or an off-site Official, Gateway or Good Neighbor hotel.
  • Outside organizers: follow the housing policy your organizer publishes; ESPN’s planning page tells teams to contact their organizer for group rates and packages.

Disney Sports Travel, at (407) 939-7810, books full team blocks or courtesy blocks that each family claims; unclaimed rooms are released after set deadlines.

How we chose

  • Location: about a 15-minute drive or less to the complex’s main lot, by OSRM routing. Margaritaville, at about 6 to 7 miles, is included for its multi-bedroom cottages.
  • Verified amenities: suites, kitchens, free breakfast, laundry and pools, checked on official hotel pages and Disney’s Good Neighbor Hotel listings.
  • Value and transport: resort fees and parking charges, which multiply when each family brings a car, plus park shuttles for days off.

We don’t publish scores, and we didn’t stay at these hotels. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.

The draw for siblings who aren’t playing is Surf & Splash Waterpark, with the Triple Tide Tower slides, a FlowRider Double surf simulator and the Aqua Cove kids’ area, plus two arcades and a basketball court.

  • Why stay: a three-bedroom suite keeps a big family together, and the water park fills the hours between games.
  • Getting there / to the parks: about 10 minutes to the complex without traffic; a complimentary scheduled shuttle runs to the Disney theme parks.
  • Good to know: the hotel lists a $54 nightly resort fee (including water park access; IHG excludes the FlowRider, but the resort’s FAQ calls it free) and self-parking at $31 per vehicle per night plus tax, at the time of writing. • Good to know: non-owner self-parking is $20 per vehicle per day at the time of writing, and space is limited, so ask before bringing trailers or large vehicles. A $250 card deposit is taken at check-in. Club Wyndham’s alerts close Tower 5 for renovations from September 12 to November 20, 2026; its pool and lazy river closed September 12 and are listed as closed until December 1, 2026, so ask before booking.

Best for: multi-family groups who want one shared base with real kitchens.

4. Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center

Aerial view of pools, lazy river and waterslides at Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center

Gaylord Palms, at 6000 W. Osceola Parkway, is the closest non-Disney hotel here: about 3 miles, straight along Osceola Parkway. This large convention resort wraps around 4.5 acres of glass-covered atriums with gardens and waterways, handy when storms pause outdoor games. Outside is Cypress Springs Water Park, and dining includes Old Hickory Steakhouse.

  • Why stay: the shortest off-site drive with full resort amenities, good for college showcases and parents who want restaurants on site.
  • Getting there / to the parks: about 10 minutes to the complex without traffic. The resort fee covers a shuttle to the four Disney theme parks and Disney Springs, bookable up to five days ahead.
  • Good to know: the resort fee is $45 a day plus tax (Wi-Fi, the Disney shuttle, water park admission for up to four guests). Self-parking was $40 and valet $55 a day plus tax in a June 2026 capture of Marriott’s page. The resort is cashless, and guaranteed connecting rooms can be booked as a room enhancement.

Best for: families who want resort extras and a short drive, and don’t mind the fees.

5. Comfort Suites Maingate East

Two queen beds and a sleeper sofa in a one-room suite at Comfort Suites Maingate East

Comfort Suites, at 2775 Florida Plaza Boulevard behind Old Town, is about 4.3 miles by road from the complex. All 198 units are suites with a sleeper sofa, sink, microwave and mini-fridge. The two-queen suite (463 square feet) sleeps 6; king and one-bedroom suites sleep 4.

A free hot and cold breakfast buffet with eggs and Mickey Mouse waffles is served daily, the heated pool and whirlpool are open 24 hours, and the poolside Daiquiri bar serves food in the afternoon and evening. The hotel lists Walmart, Target and Publix within three miles for team snacks.

  • Why stay: free breakfast and no resort fee make it the lowest-overhead pick here, even with $10 parking.
  • Getting there / to the parks: about 12 minutes to the complex without traffic. Disney’s Good Neighbor listing includes a free shuttle to the Disney theme parks.
  • Good to know: Disney’s listing shows complimentary self-parking and no resort fee, but the hotel’s own site now lists parking at $10 plus taxes and fees. For groups, the hotel advertises adjoining suites, an on-site event room for team meetings and no group resort fee.

Best for: budget-minded teams that want breakfast included and a meeting room.

6. Fairfield Inn & Suites Orlando Kissimmee/Celebration

Entrance canopy and four-story exterior of Fairfield Inn and Suites Orlando Kissimmee Celebration

The Fairfield at 6073 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway is a 150-room Marriott hotel about 4.2 miles by road from the complex. Disney’s Good Neighbor listing describes rooms and suites with a mini-fridge and microwave, an outdoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center, an on-site laundry and a complimentary breakfast buffet with two hot items daily. Marriott’s page (December 2025 capture) mentions eggs and Mickey Mouse-shaped waffles but lists the breakfast as free continental and grab-and-go from 6 AM, so ask what’s served.

  • Why stay: free breakfast and free parking keep costs predictable for a family of four.
  • Getting there / to the parks: about 11 minutes to the complex without traffic. Disney’s listing includes a shuttle to the Disney parks and Disney Springs but doesn’t say it’s free, so confirm the schedule and any charge.
  • Good to know: Disney’s listing and Marriott’s page both show free parking. Check how many guests your room allows before booking for five or more.

Best for: smaller families and coaches who want breakfast and no parking bill.

  • Why stay: a full kitchen in a quieter, more upscale setting than US-192.
  • Getting there / to the parks: about 13 minutes to the complex without traffic. Disney’s Good Neighbor listing includes a complimentary scheduled shuttle to Walt Disney World and other nearby parks.
  • Good to know: Meliá says a parking space is included, subject to availability (Disney’s listing says complimentary parking), so ask about a second car. Guests 21 and over get a free happy hour from 4 to 5 PM, and the hotel is pet-friendly.

Best for: families who want a kitchen and a calmer base after long tournament days.

8. Margaritaville Resort Orlando

Aerial view of lagoon pools, lawns and hotel buildings at Margaritaville Resort Orlando

Margaritaville, at 8000 Fins Up Circle off US-192, is the farthest pick at about 6 to 7 miles by road (roughly 15 to 20 minutes), but it’s the best fit when a whole team wants to stay together. Besides 265 hotel rooms and suites, it rents cottages with one to eight bedrooms and full kitchens, plus two- to four-bedroom villas.

  • Why stay: one large cottage can house several player families, with a kitchen for team meals and two parking spaces at the door.
  • Getting there / to the parks: drive to games; complimentary theme park shuttles run for days off, reservations required.

Disney-owned resorts closest to the complex

Disney’s own hotels are the closest beds to the fields, and Disney Sports Travel books them for event packages. They aren’t sold on Booking.com, so book with Disney or through your event’s link. Disney resort guests also get 30-minute Early Theme Park Entry at all four parks every day of their stay.

Game-day logistics at ESPN Wide World of Sports

  • Parking: general parking is free for many events at the time of writing (check your event page), with premium parking sold on select event dates. When lots fill, guests are sent to alternate parking, and the complex suggests rideshare or Disney’s Minnie Van service.
  • Admission: competing athletes and coaches don’t need a ticket; fans and family do. General admission is $19.50 for ages 10 and up and $14.50 for ages 3 to 9 at the time of writing, and tickets are sold online, not at a box office.
  • Coolers and tents: one cooler per guest, up to 24 x 15 x 18 inches, with no glass, alcohol or loose ice. Pop-up tents up to 10 x 10 feet are allowed without stakes, ropes or weights and come down each evening.
  • Weather and food: lightning halts outdoor play. The ESPN Wide World of Sports Grill, snack carts and concession stands cover game days, and boxed team meals must be ordered at least 10 business days ahead.
  • Laundry: there’s none at the complex, so a hotel with guest laundry or an in-unit washer saves late-night trips.

How to choose a hotel for a tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports

  • Read your event’s housing policy first. If it’s stay-to-play, book only through the channel it names.
  • Count cars, not just beds. Parking runs from free at the Fairfield to $10 a day at Comfort Suites and Staybridge, $20 at Club Wyndham, $31 at Holiday Inn Resort and $40 at Gaylord Palms, before tax, at last check.
  • Prioritize breakfast, kitchens and laundry. Early games make included breakfast valuable; see our Orlando hotels with kitchens for more.
  • Size the room to the family. Five or more need a two-queen suite with a sofa bed or a separate bedroom; families sharing should compare 2- and 3-bedroom suites near Disney World.
  • Add tax. Most of these hotels are in Osceola County (about 13.5% in sales and tourist taxes at the time of writing); Club Wyndham and Holiday Inn Resort are in Orange County (about 12.5%).

Frequently asked questions

What is the closest hotel to ESPN Wide World of Sports?

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is the closest by road, about 1.5 miles from the complex’s main parking area, followed by Caribbean Beach and Pop Century at about 2 miles. The closest non-Disney hotel is Gaylord Palms, about 3 miles away, then Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek at about 3.5 miles and Staybridge Suites Orlando Royale Parc Suites and Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites – Waterpark at about 4 miles.

Do you have to stay at a Disney hotel for a tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports?

Only if your event says so. The 2027 Disney Cup International is stay-to-play: teams more than 90 miles’ driving distance away must book an official tournament hotel through Disney Sports Travel. Disney’s other 2026-27 soccer events have no such requirement, though Disney Sports Travel offers packages. For events run by outside organizers, follow the housing policy they publish.

Is parking free at ESPN Wide World of Sports?

General parking at the complex is free at the time of writing, and premium parking is sold for a fee on select event dates. Lots can fill at busy times, when guests are directed to alternate parking, so arrive early or share rides. Your hotel’s self-parking charge is separate and ranges from free to $40 a day on this list.

Do Disney buses go to ESPN Wide World of Sports?

Not as a rule. ESPN Wide World of Sports says all guests are responsible for their own transportation to and from the complex and other competition venues unless special transportation has been arranged for their event. Disney’s Minnie Van service does serve the complex, with prices based on distance, and the complex suggests rideshare when parking is busy.

How much does it cost to get into ESPN Wide World of Sports?

Athletes and coaches competing in an event don’t need an admission ticket, but fans and family members do. At the time of writing, general admission is $19.50 for ages 10 and up and $14.50 for ages 3 to 9, and many events sell length-of-event tickets. Separately ticketed events cost extra. Buy online in advance, because there’s no physical box office.

Bottom line

Pick by event rules first and distance second. If you can book anywhere, Staybridge Suites Orlando Royale Parc Suites gives most families the best mix of kitchen, breakfast, laundry and cheap parking about 4 miles from the fields; Comfort Suites Maingate East is the budget pick, and Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek or a Margaritaville cottage suits families sharing. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.
