Westgate Vacation Villas Resort is a sprawling timeshare resort in Kissimmee, about 7.5 miles by road from the Magic Kingdom’s parking lot, that rents studios and one- and two-bedroom villas by the night to non-owners. Every unit has a kitchen or kitchenette, self-parking is free, and the grounds hold 14 heated pools and a pirate-themed water park.

The trade-offs are a $29.99-plus-tax nightly resort fee, a water park that costs extra on most rates, a 10 am checkout and timeshare sales offers. We checked Westgate’s pages, the resort’s Booking.com listing and Disney’s site in October 2026; confirm anything that matters to you.

Quick answer: Book Westgate Vacation Villas if your family wants a two-bedroom villa (up to 10 people in the loft version) a short drive from Animal Kingdom, with a full kitchen, a washer-dryer and plenty to do on rest days. Skip it if you want Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry, water park tickets in the price or a park shuttle you can count on.

Westgate Vacation Villas location and distances

The resort spreads across low-rise villa buildings and small lakes west of Disney property, near US-192 on the Kissimmee side. No park is walkable. It shares its amenities with the adjacent Westgate Town Center Resort, and a free trolley-style train loops the grounds every 25 minutes on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Our guide to the best hotels in Kissimmee covers the wider area.

Westgate lists Walt Disney World 7.8 miles away, SeaWorld 11.7 and Universal 15.3, which match road distances. Our OSRM road routes to each park’s parking area, without traffic:

The short Animal Kingdom route takes Entry Point Boulevard and Sherberth Road, a back way onto Disney property; the longer one uses US-192 and World Drive. At the Magic Kingdom you park at the Transportation and Ticket Center and continue by monorail or ferry. The fastest airport route uses the tolled Beachline Expressway.

Villas: sizes, beds and kitchens

All units are non-smoking, with air conditioning, an in-room safe, cable TV and Wi-Fi. The studio has a kitchenette with a microwave, toaster, coffee maker and mini fridge; the other villas have a full kitchen with a range, oven and dishwasher. Two-bedroom types add a washer-dryer, and one-bedroom guests can use a shared laundry room free. Westgate lists housekeeping as weekly.

Two-bedroom deluxe800 sq ft8King, 2 doubles, queen sleeper
Two-bedroom with loft1,000 sq ft10King, 2 doubles, 2 twins, queen sleeper

The loft villa is the pick for big groups: its two twin beds sit in an upstairs loft, and Westgate lists a balcony or patio. The deluxe two-bedroom also has a balcony or patio, accessible features such as a roll-in shower, and a primary bathroom with a jetted tub and walk-in shower, the only jetted tub Westgate lists here (see our Orlando hotels with jacuzzi suites).

Westgate’s current pages top out at the loft villa; we found no three- or four-bedroom units listed. Rollaways and extra beds aren’t available, and Booking.com contradicts itself on cribs (free for ages 0 to 2, but also “not available”), so ask. Booking.com also shows a queen instead of a king in the standard two-bedroom, so match beds and occupancy before you pay. For more big-group options, compare our 2- and 3-bedroom suites near Disney World.

Pools, hot tubs and Shipwreck Island Water Park

Westgate lists 14 heated outdoor pools and 14 hot tubs (its amenity list says 13), plus children’s wading pools, open 8 am to 10 pm daily, weather permitting, with lifts for guests with limited mobility. In October 2026 the resort’s calendar showed pools closing one at a time for maintenance.

Shipwreck Island is a two-level, pirate-themed water park with the Black Beard’s Pirate Ship water playground, two enclosed tube slides, a lazy river on the upper deck, an enclosed drop slide and a kiddie area. Posted hours were 11 am to 6 pm daily, weather permitting.

Admission isn’t included for most guests. The admissions page lists $25 per person per day, with children under 3 free; an outdated $20 price from an older FAQ answer still circulates, so budget for $25. Owners at Westgate Town Center, Vacation Villas and Towers get in free. Westgate’s direct “Arcade & Water Park” offer adds two water park tickets and a $25 arcade play pass; a Booking.com rate includes them only if its description says so. Pool bars such as Banana Cabana were listed from noon to 6 pm, and the two bars inside the water park need admission.

Mystery Fun House, mini golf and other recreation

The big indoor draw is Mystery Fun House Arcade Experience, powered by Chuck E. Cheese: an 8,000-square-foot arcade with bowling and the MEGAbites food hall, where play costs extra. Outside are an 18-hole, dinosaur-themed mini golf course, a synthetic-ice skating rink, swan paddle boats, bikes, tennis, pickleball, playgrounds and a dog park. A free movie theater shows family films, and the calendar lists weekend DJ parties and game shows.

Watch the fine print. Westgate’s terms say the resort fee covers mini golf and bike rentals, yet the activity calendar we checked on October 9, 2026 listed $9 guest prices for both, plus $5 for skating and $10 to $14 for paddle boats. Ask at check-in what the fee covers.

Dining and breakfast

Breakfast isn’t included. Viva Coffee & Espresso sells pastries, sandwiches and Starbucks coffee, and The Marketplace stocks groceries and snacks, listed from 10 am to 7 pm daily. Every villa except the studio has a full kitchen for cooking in.

Los Amigos Mexican Grill & Tequila Bar was listed from noon to 9 pm Monday to Saturday and 10 am to 9 pm Sunday, with brunch until 2 pm. Sid’s American Kitchen serves burgers and comfort food from noon to 10 pm, Wednesday to Sunday (hours change). MEGAbites has pizza and chicken bites, and Sweet Dreamery sells ice cream and mini doughnuts. The Drafts sports bar still named in an old FAQ answer and on Booking.com no longer appears on Westgate’s dining list. For similar stays, see our Orlando hotels with kitchens.

Resort fee, parking and check-in rules

The resort fee is $29.99 plus tax per villa per night. Westgate’s terms say it covers Wi-Fi, mini golf, movie theater access, bike rentals, sports courts and equipment, the fitness center, local calls, the in-room safe and boarding pass printing, and Booking.com lists the same. Osceola County’s hotel taxes, 13.5% in total at our last check, come on top.

Self-parking is free for standard cars and small to mid-size SUVs, first come, first served; RVs, trucks, trailers and oversized vehicles can’t be accommodated. The overview also lists electric car charging.

Check-in starts at 4 pm, checkout is by 10 am, and you must be 21 to check in. Westgate takes a $50 card hold for incidentals, released 5 to 14 business days after you leave; it also lists a $200 cash option, but Booking.com says cash isn’t accepted.

Westgate’s terms allow up to two dogs with a combined 60 pounds, with breed limits, for $150 plus tax per stay, and no other animals. The resort’s pet FAQ also lists a $150 refundable deposit, so confirm the charges before you bring a dog.

Getting to Disney, Universal and SeaWorld

Westgate’s current pages advertise no theme park shuttle here. The overview’s transportation section lists only parking and car charging, and the FAQ answer that once promised a free Disney, Universal and SeaWorld shuttle now redirects to the general FAQ. Booking.com lists a free “shuttle service” with no details, so ask before you skip a rental car.

Most guests drive. Disney’s standard theme park parking was $35 a day at last check, and Universal’s was $35 including tax. The resort isn’t on Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry list (US page, August 2026 archived copy), so you book Lightning Lane 3 days ahead instead of the 7 days Disney Resort guests get. Westgate lists no airport shuttle, so plan on a rideshare, taxi or rental car.

Fitness center and other amenities

The fitness center has cardio and weight equipment and is listed from 7 am to 8 pm daily. Some listings call the property “Resort & Spa,” but Westgate’s current amenity list includes no spa. You also get a 24-hour front desk, concierge and ticket help, a guest laundry, a gift shop and scooter rentals at $40 a day.

Who Westgate Vacation Villas suits

It suits families and multigenerational groups of 4 to 10 with a car who plan mostly Disney days and want rest days with pools, an arcade and evening activities. One two-bedroom villa can replace two hotel rooms; our guide to rooms that sleep 5 or 6 compares other ways to fit a bigger family.

It’s a weaker fit for couples after a quiet, upscale hotel, travelers without a car and Universal-focused trips.

Pros

  • Two-bedroom villas up to 1,000 sq ft that sleep up to 10, with full kitchens and washer-dryers.
  • About 3 to 5 miles from Animal Kingdom and 7.5 from the Magic Kingdom lot.
  • 14 heated pools, an on-site water park and an 8,000-square-foot arcade.
  • Free self-parking and a long list of activities, several listed in the resort fee.

Limitations to know

  • A $29.99-plus-tax nightly resort fee, plus water park tickets for most guests.
  • No theme park shuttle on Westgate’s current pages, despite older claims.
  • No Disney Early Theme Park Entry and no 7-day Lightning Lane window.
  • A 10 am checkout, 21+ check-in age and weekly housekeeping.
  • Conflicting official details on pets, cribs and which activities the fee covers.
  • Timeshare marketing: Westgate promotes discounted resort-preview packages that require a 90-minute sales presentation.

What to check before you book

  • Your villa: match the Booking.com room name to Westgate’s villa type, then check beds, balcony and maximum occupancy.
  • Total price: add the resort fee, Osceola County taxes and any water park tickets.
  • Shuttle: ask whether any park shuttle runs on your dates; otherwise plan to drive.
  • Babies and pets: confirm cribs and the pet rules directly with the resort.
  • Water park: check the day’s hours, since a 6 pm close leaves little time after a park day.

Frequently asked questions

Does Westgate Vacation Villas have a free shuttle to Disney World?

Not that we could confirm. An older FAQ answer promised a complimentary shuttle to Walt Disney World, Universal and SeaWorld, but that page now redirects, and Westgate’s current overview lists no shuttle at the time of writing. Call the resort before you skip a rental car, and expect to drive about 3 to 8 miles to the Disney parks.

How much is the resort fee at Westgate Vacation Villas?

Westgate lists $29.99 plus tax per villa per night at the time of writing. Its terms say the fee covers Wi-Fi, the fitness center, mini golf, the movie theater, bike rentals, sports courts, local calls, the in-room safe and boarding pass printing. Water park tickets, arcade play, skating and paddle boats are extra, and Osceola County hotel taxes apply.

Is Shipwreck Island Water Park included at Westgate Vacation Villas?

Not on most rates. The admissions page lists $25 per person per day, with children under 3 free; an outdated $20 price from an older FAQ answer still circulates. Owners at Westgate Town Center, Vacation Villas and Towers get in free. Westgate’s direct Arcade & Water Park offer adds two tickets, but a Booking.com rate includes them only if its description says so.

How many people can stay in a villa at Westgate Vacation Villas?

The studio and one-bedroom villa sleep up to 4, the two-bedroom up to 6 and the two-bedroom deluxe up to 8. The largest, the two-bedroom villa with loft, sleeps up to 10 in 1,000 square feet, using a king, two doubles, two twins in the loft and a queen sleeper sofa. Rollaways and extra beds aren’t available.

Do you have to attend a timeshare presentation at Westgate Vacation Villas?

Only if you book a resort preview package. Westgate’s booking box offers up to 40% off for taking a “resort preview,” and its terms say those packages require a 90-minute discovery tour and sales presentation, plus income and credit qualifications. A regular nightly rate, including one booked on Booking.com, isn’t a preview package.

Bottom line

Westgate Vacation Villas gives families real villa space, full kitchens, free parking and plenty of pools and activities near Animal Kingdom. Budget for the resort fee, water park tickets and taxes, plan to drive, and confirm the shuttle, cribs and pet rules directly. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.
