Orlando hotels with heated pools are the difference between a swim and a shiver from December to February, when NOAA’s climate normals put afternoon highs at 72 to 75°F and nights around 50 to 53°F. The catch is that “heated” is easy to claim and hard to pin down: many hotel pages say nothing, some pools are only “seasonally” heated, and a published water temperature is rare.
We kept only hotels whose own website, FAQ or brand page says the pool is heated, checked in October 2026, and we quote the temperature wherever one is published. You get 15 picks from Disney Springs to International Drive, a table with hot tubs and pool hours, and notes on Disney, Universal and winter water parks.
Quick answer: Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace (82 to 85°F), Caribe Royale (80 to 84°F), The Grove Resort (83°F year-round) and Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake (an average of 82°F) publish water temperatures. Signia Bonnet Creek, Wyndham Lake Buena Vista, Margaritaville, Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites – Waterpark and Westgate Lakes say their pools are heated year-round or in cool weather, and the Courtyard in the Marriott Village adds an indoor/outdoor heated pool. Rates vary by season, availability and how far ahead you book.

How we chose these heated pool hotels
- An official “heated” statement: each pick’s own site, FAQ or brand page says the pool is heated or temperature-controlled; silent hotels are listed separately so you can ask.
- Temperature when published: four hotels give a number; for the rest we quote the wording rather than guess.
- Winter extras: hot tubs, lazy rivers, slides and indoor options, with the pool hours we found.
- Location and transport: rounded road distances to the parks’ parking lots from our route checks, plus shuttles.
- Verified fees: resort fees and parking from each hotel’s site at the time of writing; confirm the breakdown on Booking.com.

Other big resorts: heated, or not stated
These carry a heating statement on an official page: Gaylord Palms (Marriott says both Cypress Springs pools are heated “even during the winter months”), Orlando World Center Marriott (a heated lagoon pool with three body slides, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.), Marriott’s Grande Vista (four heated pool areas and four whirlpools, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.), Westgate Vacation Villas (“14 heated outdoor pools and hot tubs,” with free self-parking) and Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando, whose FAQ says its pool is “heated year-round” and open 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Four Seasons Resort Orlando publishes nothing about water temperature: its amenities page and FAQ describe two water slides, family and adults-only pools and a lazy river, with no heating statement. That doesn’t mean the water is cold; it means you should call.
Are Disney and Universal hotel pools heated?
Disney-owned resorts: on Disney’s official planDisney Q&A, a guest panelist answering a November 2021 question wrote that “all Disney Resorts Collection hotel pools are tempered to a very comfortable 82 degrees Fahrenheit year-round.” Disney’s resort pages publish no temperatures, and the resorts are not on Booking.com. The Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve are, but their pool pages don’t say whether the water is heated; our Swan vs Dolphin vs Swan Reserve comparison covers their pools.
Universal: the hotel pages don’t mention heating, but Universal’s hotel FAQ says the pools at its hotels are heated, though water slides close below 60°F, pools below 50°F and the whole pool deck below 45°F. Its official blog agrees: its September 2026 winter guide mentions “three heated pools” at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel and “two heated pools” at Dockside Inn and Suites, part of Universal Endless Summer Resort, and a January 2018 post said “all of our unique hotels include heated pools.” Ask the hotel to confirm.
How cold does Orlando get, and when do heated pools matter?
NOAA’s 1991 to 2020 climate normals for Orlando International Airport put average highs at 78°F in November, 74°F in December, 72°F in January, 75°F in February and 79°F in March, with average lows of 58°F, 53°F, 50°F, 52°F and 56°F. January averages close to five nights at or below 40°F and about one at freezing, so a pool deck at 2 p.m. can be pleasant while the same pool at 7 p.m. is only for the heated. From late November to early March, book from this list or pick an indoor pool. Our Orlando weather by month guide, plus Orlando in January and Orlando in February, have the full picture.
Water parks in winter 2026-27
Universal’s Volcano Bay closes for maintenance from October 26, 2026 until on or before April 1, 2027. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is closed for refurbishment with no reopening date posted, so Blizzard Beach, which Disney says is heated to about 81°F, is the Disney option, and Aquatica’s blog has said its water is kept at 82°F year-round (check its calendar). Our Orlando water parks guide tracks the dates; for hotel water parks see Orlando hotels with water parks and waterslides and Orlando hotels with lazy rivers.
How to choose
- Want a number, not a promise? Buena Vista Palace (82 to 85°F), The Grove (83°F), Caribe Royale (80 to 84°F) and Orange Lake (82°F average) publish one.
- Hot tubs: Westgate Lakes (6), Sheraton Vistana (6), Holiday Inn Resort LBV, Rosen Shingle Creek, Orange Lake and Hilton Orlando (2 each) list them.
- Lazy rivers in winter: Buena Vista Palace, Signia, Wyndham Grand (via Club Wyndham), The Grove, Orange Lake and Hilton Orlando.
- Disney Early Theme Park Entry: only Buena Vista Palace, Wyndham Lake Buena Vista and Signia qualify here (so does Drury Plaza, above).
Frequently asked questions
Are Orlando hotel pools heated in December and January?
Many are, but not all, and “heated” ranges from a stated 82 to 85°F to a vague “seasonally heated.” The 15 hotels above say so on their own sites, and four publish temperatures. If a hotel’s page is silent, call before you book and ask for the current water temperature and whether any pool closes in cold weather.
How cold does Orlando get in winter?
NOAA’s normals for Orlando International Airport give January an average high of 71.8°F and low of 49.5°F, with December and February a few degrees warmer, and about five January nights fall to 40°F or below. Afternoons are often fine for a heated pool, but evenings call for a hot tub and a towel at the steps.
Are Disney World resort pools heated?
Disney’s planDisney panel has answered yes: a panelist’s reply to a November 2021 question says Disney Resorts Collection pools are kept at 82°F year-round, though panelists are guests rather than Cast Members and the resort pages publish no number. Disney-owned resorts are not sold on Booking.com, and the Swan and Dolphin, which are, don’t state whether their pools are heated.
Are Universal Orlando hotel pools heated?
Yes, according to Universal’s hotel FAQ, though water slides close below 60°F, pools below 50°F and the entire pool deck below 45°F. Its September 2026 winter guide also mentions three heated pools at Portofino Bay and two at Dockside Inn and Suites. The hotels’ own pages don’t mention heating. Volcano Bay is closed from October 26, 2026 to on or before April 1, 2027.
Which Orlando water parks are open and heated in winter?
Blizzard Beach, which Disney says heats its water to about 81°F, is the Disney park to count on while Typhoon Lagoon is closed for refurbishment, and Aquatica has said its water stays at 82°F year-round, so check its calendar. Volcano Bay is closed until on or before April 1, 2027, and Island H2O is a March-to-October park.
Which Orlando hotels have indoor pools?
Very few. On this list only the Courtyard in the Marriott Village has an indoor/outdoor heated pool, with an indoor whirlpool beside it. A handful of others, mostly near downtown, the airport and International Drive, have true indoor pools; our guide to Orlando hotels with indoor pools covers them with their heating statements.
Bottom line
For a winter trip, the safest Orlando hotels with heated pools are the ones that put a temperature in writing: Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace at 82 to 85°F for Disney, The Grove at 83°F for a warm water park, Caribe Royale at 80 to 84°F for suites and Orange Lake at an average of 82°F for a lazy river. Add a hot tub from the table, check the pool hours for your dates, and confirm the fee breakdown on Booking.com before you pay.
